I guess the cookie business pays well.

Looked it up - he's worth $500mm and opened his 1000th store recently.

He also agreed to pay the fine for BYU fans storming the field.  He and many donors stepped up to the plate quickly.  When the fine never came, McGowan and others donated the money to NIL AND wiped out the student lunch debt at Provo and SLC schools.

Firing Franklin to get BYU corch is really funny.

In the interim Franklin is dismantling PSU’s class. I admire what he’s doing. No bullshit, no whining. Left with dignity and went to work.

He's got 'em up to 49 now in the 247 composite.

I appreciate that they didn't try to make it look like he's wearing a UK shirt.

They just fired up MSPaint and pasted it in.

It's Kentucky.  They had no idea on Saturday night they would be needing some quality graphics from the social media Photoshop intern so they sent him home to Paducah.

Have you seen how fat society has become?

Plus, them Mormons are addicted to sugar.  Went to Provo two years ago for the Tech-BYU game.  They may abstain from alcohol and caffeine, but they've just replaced it with a sugar addiction like I've never seen.

To clarify, the mental gymnastics of the Mormon church does not require abstinence from all caffeine, only "hot" drinks like coffee and tea.  An in-house lawyer for one of my clients is a devout Mormon and drinks about 6 Diet Cokes a day.

Interesting, because the Mormons I was friends with in high school (late 80's/early 90's) only had 7-up and Sprite and other non-caffeinated drinks at any of their gatherings.

Oddly enough, I've seen many Mormons consume amounts of sugar that boggles my mind, yet none of them were ever fat.  By and large a very good looking group of people.

Details of UF’s contract with Sumrall are out. $7.5 mil a year. He’s only owed 70% of his remaining contract if fired and there’s also a mitigation clause if he gets another job. Basically if he gets fired after 3 years he’s only owed like $5-10 mil. Can’t believe he agreed to that.

That makes sense, because apparently the church's official position on caffeinated soda was released in 2012.

Quote

In 2012, the church released an official statement stating explicitly that caffeinated soda is allowed under church doctrine. Still, many Mormons will not consume caffeinated drinks.

Yeah, Mormons are by and large thinner and more attractive than GenPop despite the sugar addiction. Carpet basketball, church dances, and clean living balance that out.

You're not impressed with their super secret sauce of ketchup+mayo+pepper?

At the disastrous game at BYU when Mack was still coach, the stadium only sold caffeine free drinks. But this was pre-2012. So maybe caffeinated cokes now? PARTY!!!

Alcohol, tobacco, and too much meat make sense, but hot drinks? That's stupid af. Even back in the day there was plenty of teas without caffiene, and ancient teas often had positive medicinal properties (real and imagined). Such arbitrary nonsense, like ancient writings on pork, shrimp, and wearing clothes of mixed materials.

MARTIN: Bowman says it goes back to Mormon Prophet Joseph Smith, who said he received a revelation from God forbidding Mormons to consume hot drinks, alcohol, tobacco or too much meat. Over the years, the meaning of hot drinks has come to mean tea and coffee.

@956 Worldwide

I’d attribute it more having to chase 9 kids around the house and continue to lay pipe with your 4 wives and / or 4 sets of soft swinging couple-friends.

You burn a lot of calories doing that…
