not for real house work, but for really tiny stuff and hobbyist use, sanding and filing and polishing and even very minor cuts on plastic and such.... need a dremel class tool with the most torque.  is there something with some real oomph to it?

nm bought myself a Fein MultiMaster 350W set.  those dremels are like 180W

Some of the surgical drills are pretty sweet. They have saw attachments, diamond bits for cutting steel/titanium etc... Not cheap on the retail side but if you can get your hands on one you'll like it.

Really?  I've got one in my storage unit.  It never occurred to me that it could be useful at home.   I need to dig that out.

I brought mine home from work, you?

I've been in the surgery center business for many years. I built/developed a few, and did turnarounds on others.   It used to be a full-time gig...now I own a small interest in two centers and occasionally do some consulting.  I have a storage unit with some equipment, much of which is obsolete.  I really should donate most of it one of these days.

I got my spleen on one...   0 stars

Might be above your budget but the Foredom flex shaft tool is probably the most popular wood carving rotary tool.  You can chuck up a big diamond burr and really remove some wood.

ive already got a flexible shaft tool tho

I bought the Northern Tool store brand Dremmel kit and love it. Came with a ton of attachments and accessories plus a mini Dremmel for small stuff like engraving. Works great.
