Ok, so these boats are targeted with some kind of missile, which would seem to be drone-launched, aircraft-launched, or surface-launched.  Given current "proclivities, I'd assume an AGM-114 Hellfire launched from a Predator or Reaper drone.

What on earth does any SEAL team have to do with this?  Or JSOC?

The drones could be launched from dang near anywhere, maybe likely a surface vessel in this instance, and controlled from really anywhere?

How so?  Is the argument "it's his fault for following our insane, stupid, and illegal orders....and it totally is NOT our fault for giving those orders?"

“The White House has confirmed that the admiral overseeing U.S. military operations against alleged drug-carrying boats had issued the order for a second strike that killed two survivors, an attack that has intensified legal scrutiny into the Trump administration’s lethal campaign.”

They will say it was Bradley’s call and his call only.

Was it not confirmed that it came directly from Hegseth?

Well, frankly, if he is a flag officer of the United States Navy that didn't at the least question these orders in the first place, he may deserve what he gets.

ADM Holsey foreshadowed this shit.

Maybe using SOC was an end-around Southcom.

Admiral Bradley; the first of many they will throw under the bus. Better get your illegal orders in writing before illegally executing them (which does not excuse you from criminal liability).

And this is probably the reason for Great Britain said fuck you, we're not sharing our Caribberan intelligence any more.

Are we all supposed to ignore the epic meltdown from Trump and his SECDEF last week over giving illegal orders?

Yeah I was about to say, I’m sure we’ll be getting apologies from Dotard and Hegseth any minute now.

Looks like that got updated.  The initial article I read and quoted from just mentioned Bradley.

I'm sure it did, but they're going to try to claim he acted unilaterally, without specific orders.

Either way, it would seem he's on the hook, with or without Whisky Pete.

Is this Admiral in the same role that the prior Admiral resigned from a couple months ago because he was worried about illegal orders?

Per his wiki page, Bradley became the commander of the United States Special Operations Command on October 3rd, 2025.  Admiral Holsey's resignation was announced on October 16th, but his position was the "head" of US Southern Command.  The first boat was struck on September 1st.

So, no, Bradley was not a replacement for Holsey. It sounds like Holsey was not directly in charge of the operation, but probably was involved and resigned.  Bradley may be fucked.  I hope someone confiscates his side arm.

I hope somebody gets him in front of Congress and the cameras.  I can’t see these career officers going down because of what whiskey Pete and Trump wanted to do in Venezuela.

I’m glad to see this thing is getting blown up in the media. Although now I think the chances of us going to war with Venezuela went way up so that they can justify the strikes.

It looks like Bradley spent a fair amount of his career with the Navy Seals.  For certain types of missions, where the options to take prisoners are very limited and you are worried about anyone raising an alarm, I can where leadership is pretty flexible regarding the rules of engagement.  But this wasn't that type of mission.  There were no American servicemen at risk.  There were no civilians at risk, other than those we murdered.

I'm hoping this will get people to start paying attention to this potential war with Venezuela. It was largely flying under the radar.  I would rather have the discussion now, before Americans starting getting martyred.  Once you get flag covered caskets, the public tends to lose perspective for a few years.

This is not getting enough run.  On one hand, he's killing "narco terrorists" for "flooding America with drugs", while simultaneously pardoning someone convicted of doing exactly that.  Pardons are simply for sale.

Well, prices are high…. But I’m sure the President will get those hold outs from Biden’s last 8 years out of the government so that Trump can finally realize his first term mandate.

"The combat decisions he made".

The motherfucker was on a ship at sea surrounded by other ships, or back in Florida staring at television monitors. He wasn't in a doorway in Fallujah trying to figure out where sniper fire was coming from so he could save one of his guys who was pinned down.

theres only 2 scenarios here

1- we are at war and this is a war crime

2- we are not at war and this is murder

either way he is culpable

More than that. “Combat” connotes an element of danger on both ends that doesn’t exist here.

Who was shooting at US forces?

Nobody.
