Yes in a 4 team playoff. We needed that game and the win got us in.

we don’t need it now.  10-2 Texas is in. Even with the Florida loss. That’s the point. It doesn’t matter who we fucking play. Just wins.

Yeah, the dudes talking about scheduling Bama are showing they are clueless. It was different format. Completely irrelevant.

Miami is irrelevant. We will pass them. OR they will win the ACC and get the auto bid. Michigan needs to lose, I agree. We also will jump Utah. Our biggest obstacles are Vandy (likely to lose and I think we go ahead of them anyways given the head to head and SOS differences), BYU (scam team in a scam conference, we should be in front of them unless they win the Big 12 against Tech), Bama, and OU. We need OU or Bama to lose and we will be in.

You’re probably right about Miami. We are moving ahead of Vandy regardless of their Tenn outcome. I’m more certain about that than Miami because of our head to head.

I don’t think people realize we are ranked where we are because we failed the eye test so miserably in the 4th quarter in Athens. We made up for it tonight. We have some games to worry about but I strongly suspect the committee will rectify some shit on Tuesday.

Why? Oregon played two ranked teams at home and went 1-1. Aggy played two ranked teams on the road and went 1-1.

Because aggy just lost and if Oregon beats a pretty good Washington team it'll be 6 straight wins for Oregon.

Wouldn’t we rather take the 50/50 chance over the 100% chance?

There is no debate of a 3-loss Bama or Texas team. It is not a 50/50 chance. There is a 100% chance Texas is ranked ahead of Bama with an Auburn loss.

100% agree. Their resume is worse than ours. And they lost at the wrong time and to worse teams.

Texas is a sexy hot mess. All we needed to do was give them something to talk about. No one wants BYU or Fucking Vandy.

Vandy has almost no shot of making it. BYU must beat a team that absolutely owned them to make it. They aren’t getting a bid otherwise. Those 2 schools are not our competition.

If Georgia beats Bama or Ole Miss in the SECCG, does Bama/Ole Miss get punished for a 3rd loss and fall behind us?

I do think that a loss in a CG should be slightly different than a regular season loss but the committee can’t ignore that loss.

Ole Miss would only have two and would still be in. If Georgia beats the brakes off of Bama, I think they’d still put Bama in given how the first matchup went. Our only shot is chaos this weekend.

Or miss would have 2 losses. And only one good win in OU.

and a 3rd loss should drop bama but they won’t.

My bad about thinking Ole Miss already had 2 losses. I keep thinking they would be higher with only 1 loss.

They played a weak schedule and only beat OU(a good win)

Guys, we made the playoff two years ago because we scheduled Alabama. Without that game we don’t make it in. I don’t think those games should be freebies where if you win it’s a tremendous advantage and if you lose it’s just an exhibition game and the result doesn’t matter. Just playing devils advocate.

I cannot disagree with this post enough.

As a college football fan, I want to see the top teams play each other in OOC as often as possible. That only happens if marquee teams are incentivized to play each other.

If a close loss to the defending national champs in OOC knocks you out, only a fool would keep scheduling that type of game.

Exactly. The argument isn’t the Florida loss is bad.

It’s do they want to incentivize us into not scheduling Tough games.

This post hits close to home because sometimes I say “just playing Devil’s advocate” to my wife, and then say something stupid.

100%. Which is why we are gonna find our way into this thing if either OU or Bama lose tomorrow.

They’ll be 4 or 5 after this week thanks to us. I don’t think they’ll stay behind both Tech and Oregon (head coach shenanigans notwithstanding)

All I know is that if I were any team not named Georgia that's either in the playoffs or in contention for the playoffs, I damn sure wouldn't want to play Texas at this point.

Not Georgia wants us on a neutral field with non-SEC refs.

The beauty and sad truth of our team is that we can literally beat anyone and lose to anyone. We have a very high ceiling and a pretty low floor. The variance is insane. Bit as the season has gone on, the floor has risen and we have gotten much more consistent.

We’re good at home and shit away. Neutral field… I guess we can win?

2 wins at home, 1 at neutral, lost two 1 score games in the 4th quarter against the best two teams in the country on the road. Wouldnt call that shit, I would call it understandable. If Texas doesnt get in, it's a fucking crime.
