For those wondering, yes Jennifer Lawrence is naked several times in the movie. This is a heavy movie emotionally and it deals with mental illness. I just went to see it tonight and it is complex in how it portrays Lawrence's character and her illness. Watching somebody you love slowly detach from reality is hard.

Sisu on Hulu. Retired Finnish soldier comes out of retirement to kill dozens of Nazis in more and more creative ways. Been on my list for a few years but glad I finally watched it.

Saw it twice in the theater. Really looking forward to SISU 2 that's coming out shortly. Going to have to talk to my friend in Finland to tell him there's a 2nd film.

You get plenty of material in this one for that, but man this is a hard one to watch. I give her credit for showing her body several times in the film. We're still kinda odd in America about nudity which is just dumb. Lawrence just tells people to kick rocks with this performance.

Her face looks very different lately. Lots of Botox maybe.

Good for her on being comfortable in her own skin.

Take my money!!!

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Reynolds is now working with Amazon MGM Studios to reboot a 1974 movie starring Eastwood and Jeff Bridges: Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.

Looks great and will watch based on your recommendation but that song belongs to Daddy and Them.       😊

The Dead Don't Hurt, written and directed by Viggo Mortensen. It's a very slow burn Western, it's good but don't expect it to be a Western action movie. It kinda reminded me of some of the background stories from the Lonesome Dove series regarding the tragedy of frontier life women had to endure.

I doubt it will be as interesting. Jeff Bridges, Clint Eastwood, George Kennedy. It was more than just a heist flick. It will be relatively flat as a 2025 American studio movie. I hope I'm wrong.

It Was Just An Accident. Iranian film by Jafar Panahi. It’s an amazing film that packs a punch. The theme resonates with the temperament of the world today

Panahi had been jailed intermittently and has continually evaded Iranian authorities in creating films in secret. Post production was done in France after sneaking out the film.

Sundown with Tim Roth, Charlotte Gainsbourg.

The beginning seemed like white lotus derivative but the movie slowly reveals itself. Thought it was really well done and in the end you replay the movie in your mind under the new frame of reference. On Netflix.

The Thing From Another World, 1951. It’s the film that inspired the 1984 remake which is my all time favorite horror movie. James Arness plays the thing. I recorded it from TCM the other day.

It’s a different take on the plot and a fun little black and white flick. I’d never heard of Margaret Sheridan but what a charming young actress. Apparently she turned down a big role in a John Wayne film because she was pregnant, and as a result her career never took off. But some think she could have been just as big as any of her silver screen starlets. She died in the 80s at 55 from lung cancer. It’s a shame everyone smoked back then.
