Saints. I don’t remember Colston being overly fast. There are some basic similarities there. Tall, thin, not overly fast but a hard worker
I'd love it but it's unlikely. Mike Thomas is fantastic but is more possession than field stretcher. Ginn is old and mediocre, and the rest of the WRs are young and shitty. They desperately need speed at WR.

And referees that are competent.

I’d absolutely love my saints to get him. But Smith is already kind of a pseudo alternative that we have. Speed would be great like the other poster added.

Allen was coming back from a PCL injury and didn't work out at the combine.  His was hand timed by Mike Mayock about 5 weeks later (4.71) but there were still questions about if he was fully healthy.  He was a track guy in HS and ran a 4.56 as a senior and 11.2 100 meter.  Much more about injury and not having time to fully train for Allen.  But hopefully LJH can improve upon his number at his pro day.

There are surely some similarities including the Saints used Colston as an inside or "slot" WR as well.  Colston ran a 4.54 in his pre-draft workouts.

A lot of excuses being made for LJH here. The Keenan Allen comp is laughable. That guy can shake anybody with his lateral quickness and is a route technician.

With the workout he put out there and his rawness as a receiver, he’ll be lucky to be picked in the 6th round. Possible UDFA.

LJH is a football player.  Hope GMs can see that.  Put him in pads and put him in a game.  May not burn a lot of folks but he will make plays.

I fucking hate the NFL.

It's as if the fuckers never watch a football game...they just measure ankles, count testicles, and hold stopwatches.

Fucking Chargers took that dogshit aggy Sammy Davis in the 1st round.  Motherfucker couldn't play a lick...just a horrible football player, but he was great at the combine.   LJ would suck if you had a track team, or a weightlifting team.  If you've got a football team, he will help you.

John Ross ran what, a 4.22 40? He's already on the chopping block because he's garbage, speed doesn't guarantee success. LJH has great size, he's physical, can run good routes and has good hands.  Anquan Boldin ran a 4.71 40 and went on to have a tremendous career and he didn't have the physical attributes that LJH can use to his advantage.

Boldin's physical attributes were that he was strong as fuck and caught everything.

Keenan was coming off injury and not fully healthy when running 40yd dash at ProDay.

"The Cal wide receiver was clocked by NFL Network's Mike Mayock at 4.71 and 4.75 seconds in the 40-yard dash at Allen's pro day Tuesday, confirming that blazing speed is not a quality he offers.  He's been hampered by a posterior cruciate ligament injury throughout the draft process, but doctors now describe Allen's left knee as fully healthy after he re-injured it in January. Trainers told Mayock that Allen only has 75 percent to 80 percent of his explosion, but said "that's what comes last" in the healing process. Allen recently told The Sacramento Bee that he's only about 85 percent back. "

Best comparison to LJH is probably Anquan Boldin.

"Boldin has always been seen as a receiver who relies on his physicality but running a 4.77 40 was still concerning. To put that into perspective, Peyton Manning ran a 4.8 at the 1998 combine. Boldin didn’t show much explosion either when he posted a 33.5-vertical. With questionable athleticism, Boldin dropped to the second round. Then he caught 101 passes for 1,377 yards and eight touchdowns during his rookie year."

The beauty is none of that matters because if you can play the game you'll make a career despite being undrafted or late round pick. Look at Poona, Adrian Phillips, Cole Beasely, and even a star like Antonio Brown

As an undrafted free agent vs 6th/7th rd pick would be trading a $75-150kish bonus for the option of choosing his team and being eligible for a new contract in year 4 vs 5.  For a guy already betting on himself, it's a big win/win.

Only first round picks get 5 year rookie deals. Everyone else is 4.

Once Cleveland finally got rid of their coach, they were one of the best teams in the NFL this past season, so...

You're saying that Great Combine Guys can be the difference with the right coach?... even with a rookie QB and after trading away your top WR?

Few would have guessed that Texas’s Swiss Army knife would be the slowest receiver at his position at the combine, but such was the reality of his 4.75 and 4.79 official 40 times. Humphrey left the Longhorns a year early, and while his combine performance didn’t dazzle anymore, it’s hard to let a bad few days in Indianapolis overshadow the season Humphrey had: 1,176 yards, nine touchdowns, 13.7 yards per reception. A lucky team may get a massive steal if these numbers drag him down.

Humphrey has plenty of skills on the field that should overshadow whatever lack of speed he might be working with. At Texas he was a consistently able to create separation. He’s a strong route-runner, and physical to boot; when there’s a contested catch, he’s a good candidate to come away with the ball.

Well his combine numbers certainly increased the chances of that happening, IMO.

How is that?

I think he's saying that there won't a lot of competition for LJH, so if the Cowboys want him he can be easily had.

You’re probably right. Kliff knows LJH’s value as well as anyone in the NFL.

That’s fair. I just think if he had even an average combine (by wr standards) he’d be a day 2 pick. If that were the case, there’s almost no way the cowboys draft him with the needs they have. There’s probably no way they draft him regardless, but it just seems a little more likely now that he can probably be had in the 5th round or later.

I think he's the type of slot that can really help Dak because he can use his size and physical style of game to catch those 5 to 10 yd passes Dak loves to make and actually get the yards after catch to make them bigger gains.

But... There's almost zero chance he plays for the Cowboys. Garrett isn't imaginative enough with the offense to switch up from a tiny shifty slot to a big physical slot. Won't happen.

1) What do scouts project as the best way (position/style) to use LJH in the NFL?

2) Which are the Best Teams and/or offenses to take advantage of LJH's skill set??

Maybe Patriots, Eagles, Rams, Chiefs, and Saints??  Or for a younger QB, wonder if Kliffy (Ariz) , Colts, 49ers, or Browns could make better use of  LJH's talents??

LJH has really screwed his position in the NFL draft.  First he doesn't train right to run 40 at Combine.  Then yesterday he doesn't run routes.  What a joke..... Now even more questions about his work ethic how serious LJH is about playing football in the NFL.

HUMPHREY'S DRAFT JOURNEY TAKES ANOTHER TURN

(Jeff Howe, 247Sports)

Did Humphrey do enough to recover from his disastrous showing at the Combine? Perhaps the first impression in Indianapolis was too much for some teams to consider giving him a second look, but either way, the work he put in Wednesday might not have been enough to move the needle. Humphrey said he was clocked in the low to high 4.6 range in the 40-yard dash, an improvement over his 4.75 at the Combine and a time that, if nothing else, makes for less guesswork for those teams looking at taking him when it comes projecting how his game will translate to the next level (had he ran in that same range at the Combine, his speed would be much less of a concern).

What’s strange about Humphrey’s pro day — even with a quarterback he’s familiar with in Shane Buechele throwing routes to the backs and receivers when went through drills — is he didn’t do any receiver drills, noting afterward he hadn’t been working on his route running of late. Instead, he did blocking drills with the tight ends and the offensive linemen, which led to him fielding questions from some clubs following the workout about why he did one but not the other. It’s been a strange draft process for Humphrey, one where he’ll have to hope what he put on tape in 2018 outweighs what the resume he’s built through the Combine and pro day shows in order for a team to acquire him by using a draft pick.
