Kudos to Indiana.  They are one tough team.   Can’t keep shitting down your leg in the red zone in a competitive game.  That said, Indiana earned it and deserved it.

when? because there would have been a riot if he was hired from James Madison

He's been good and a bit of a turnaround artist at three schools, IUP, Elon, and JMU.

So, a small-school track record.

Maybe a bit like Tressel.  Or Chris Kleiman.

Cignetti is not the most charismatic guy

He’s got the Saban grimace and maybe he got passed up on coaching promotions because schools are too focused on persona.

If only Sark had the resources or the time Cignetti has had to build a program. We could be champions.

Yeah no shit. 💩 in order to do it right you need 6 years. Or so I have been told. Or more or different schedule. Or different conference. Or just a new portal player. Cig is a unicorn. Meyer even said best head coaching job he’s seen turn around wise in his lifetime. Sark isn’t even close period.

Michigan needs to fire the entire coaching staff and hit the portal and spend their NIL on proven grown men. Recruiting is a dying art

Correctly evaluating the real talented players and game day performers can now change a team’s success overnight now.

The ass kissing that schools who claim to want to win the big one seem to need is mind boggling. Do they want to win or their asses kissed? Seems like the latter. All I know is I don’t care if my HC is Rainman. Just win, keep your personal shit away from the fucking program, do your job, and focus it on the players, the portal and making the team better every year. If Cig were 51 years old he’d have offers like no one’s business. But he’s awkward and older and not Lane Kiffin false bravado lying sack of shit on and off the field. To win you need a Cig.

and there still would have been mutiny if he was hired from James Madison to be coach here.

I'm not saying he wasn't successful at his previous stops

Bush did not deserve it over Vince. You kidding me? Bush played with the previous year’s Heisman, who threw for almost 4000 yards to two awesome receivers behind the best offensive line. He padded stats against soft pac 10 defenses and Fresno St. He had two games with under 100 yards from scrimmage. ESPN pumped up his allpurpose yards but he was an aberage return specialists. And, he was a third down back behind Lendale White, their other running back who rushed for 1300 yards and 24 tds!

Bro, I wanted VY to win it, obviously, but look at how many Heisman winners pad their stats over shit teams. Had the Heisman been given after the NC, which logic dictates it should be, VY would have it unanimously. But regular season? VY had 26-10 passing TD's. That's uh, not great. He did, however, have over 1k rushing, which is great, and 37 overall TD's, but again, that's good, but not great.

Leinart in 2004 had 3300-33-6

Bush in 2005 had 1700 rushing yard with 16 TD's @ 8.7 ypc. That's phenomenal. He also had almost 500 receiving and 2 TDs. He also had a punt return for a td. Washington was the only team to hold him under 80 yards.

VY had six games where he his pass % was less than 60%.

I do not blame the committee for awarding  Bush the Heisman. Stop being a Homer and go look at stats. Had the Heisman been awarded after NC, VY would have it, no questions. But, he doesn't. It is what it is. As you grow older and look at each players stats, you can clearly see why Bush won it.

He doesn't need to be. Winning is all that matters. Saban was a bore but he won games.

Cignetti is the best cfb coach at present. And he may go down as the goat if he can take Indiana to a national championship and have continue sustained success

If you coach fucking Indiana to the national title, I’m retiring on the spot.

My list is a lot shorter than yours.

1) Don't be a criminal

2) Don't protect criminals on your team

3) Dont be a scum bag off the field

4) Win

I can’t speak for anybody else but I played at Indiana for Coach Hoeppner. I’m drunk. Today was good.

Why couldn't Texas get this guy?

Because the fanbase and program as a whole has a pride issue.

Cig would have been beneath Texas, and nope, can’t have that perception out there!

Both Cig and Sark came from the Saban coaching tree. Between the two of them Cig, however, had more success and experience as a HC. CDC should have interviewed him.

You are 💯 correct. And the reality of it just fucking pisses me off. I wonder how many interviews Cig probably bombed meanwhile Kiffin who will lie to your face, sleep with your wife and daughter at the same time and stab you in the back is who they want. Not an awkward dude who is older and can coach. He wasn’t given a chance bc of that. What a miss. I hope he wins it all in the playoffs. Damn I’ve just never seen a coaching job like this. Takes a program with super low expectations with the second most losses (700 plus) in FBS history and in year one gets to ten wins. Year two takes down a rival they ain’t beaten since 1988 and is undefeated and Big 10 champion in year two and number one seed in playoffs. I would flex like a mofo if I did all that and he is humble awkward and quiet and excited to hang out in the coaches room with his long time staff. Oh and he also didn’t destroy JMU and leave the cupboard bare on his way out the door cuz they in too. wtf??? That’s just rare.
