Yeah no shit. 💩 in order to do it right you need 6 years. Or so I have been told. Or more or different schedule. Or different conference. Or just a new portal player. Cig is a unicorn. Meyer even said best head coaching job he’s seen turn around wise in his lifetime. Sark isn’t even close period.

Mendoza’s interview was flippin awesome. To be fair though they should have interviewed him and then included his brother. Are they the same level of dorky awesome? Plus I wanted to hear what his brother Alberto was thinking when Fernando was hit early in the game and we all thought he was badly hurt.

That interview made me like him even more. Like a combination of Bobcat Goldthwait, The Waterboy and a 12 year old kid on the spectrum combined. Amazing. Hope he wins the flippin Heisman.

and there still would have been mutiny if he was hired from James Madison to be coach here.

I'm not saying he wasn't successful at his previous stops

Agree.  Just seeing what sort of case could be made for him given his record.  There's a case to be made for successful small-school coaches, but it's not bulletproof.

It is a bit curious that he didn't use SabanBama as a stepping stone to bigger programs.  Almost as if he avoided them on purpose.  Even taking the IU job as his first P4 job might be consistent with some avoidance.

Bro, I wanted VY to win it, obviously, but look at how many Heisman winners pad their stats over shit teams. Had the Heisman been given after the NC, which logic dictates it should be, VY would have it unanimously. But regular season? VY had 26-10 passing TD's. That's uh, not great. He did, however, have over 1k rushing, which is great, and 37 overall TD's, but again, that's good, but not great.
Leinart in 2004 had 3300-33-6
Bush in 2005 had 1700 rushing yard with 16 TD's @ 8.7 ypc. That's phenomenal. He also had almost 500 receiving and 2 TDs. He also had a punt return for a td. Washington was the only team to hold him under 80 yards.
VY had six games where he his pass % was less than 60%.
I do not blame the committee for awarding  Bush the Heisman. Stop being a Homer and go look at stats. Had the Heisman been awarded after NC, VY would have it, no questions. But, he doesn't. It is what it is. As you grow older and look at each players stats, you can clearly see why Bush won it.

Good Lord. You ignored everything else i said. VY was the best player on the best offense. He made Greg Fucking Davis a Broyles Award winner. They scored at least 40 points in every game outside of the Ohio State game where VY balled out. VY was fucking third in pass efficiency and ran for over 1000 yards. Did you even watch Vince play?

Probably because he just accomplished something Sark hasn't

Sark as a HC has had a two “similar” seasons to Cig at Texas.

I don’t expect most coaches to achieve what Cig has in two years at Indiana. I think he’s a superior HC to most everyone including Sark. I am willing to concede the playoffs haven’t even started so we don’t have a bookend to Cig’s second season yet. Will he be in year 5 in a similar place to Sark?

Right now he is at the helm of an Undefeated, flipping Heisman candidate-led conference champion winning team with the number one seed in the playoffs and his team will be ranked number one in the country. Not many have achieved it.

I recognize that.

We will never know if Cig would have gone 5-7 and then 8-4 in his first two seasons at Texas. We all know the politics are different here. Indiana had low expectations from an older awkward gentleman from the same Saban coaching tree as Sark. He is a unicorn. But he has brought a basketball school their only two 10 win seasons in their entire football program history. And this year he had them ready to beat the number one team in the country. Day and his expensive NFL coordinators (I’ve seen some Ohio state fans say they didn’t want to play in that bracket anyway and let Indiana win) were outcoached.

Fernando Mendoza said the players were a group of misfits. Process oriented misfits. The Saban process works.

sorry but Process oriented team culture to me sounds a hell of a lot better than all gas no breaks.

I don’t know what Cig could have done here had he been hired 5 years ago. He never would have been hired bc we don’t often know what the fuck we are doing (McWilliams, Mackovic, Strong and Herman)

But if 3 years Indiana still looks like this team right now it’s about the process. And Cig’s coaching.

And Sark’s process this year needs to be thrown into the fucking the waste basket. It’s possible to do what Cig has done if Sark focuses on his  job and delegates to coordinators and has regular offseason practices and makes process more important than a shit slogan.

As far as the personal attacks go, (and trust me idgaf) when people go personal it just is further proof I am and others are right about Sark and you Seven Win Steve worshiping pussies cannot handle it. Peace ✌️

No, people are mad cause in our biggest games, the team hasn’t played their best, or looks bad for one half, then makes a late run to save or almost win the game. Cignetti’s  team played consistently well vs Ohio State and Oregon. They aren't flashy five stars but they play hard and smart.

But damn man they are the reason we don’t have Cig as a HC and in year 5 of sark we are on the outside looking in.

This idea that we are too good for a Cig but Sark is the MAN is the fucking problem. All flash no substance is the fucking problem. All of us Not demanding fucking more from Sark who had ample money to do what Cig has done is the problem. sark phoned in the 2025 offseason and put basically put out C+ results. I highly highly doubt Cig would have had the 2025 offseason Sark had here. And I highly highly doubt he’d have neglected to plug the holes in the oline. Or missed junior day. Or canceled spring stuff. Or had NFL proven not to work practices. Cig isn’t perfect either. But it is the fans and the BMDs who think Cig wasn’t good enough: they are the fucking problem.

people should be demanding more from Sark this year. If y’all don’t think other ADs didn’t watch that game last night and shout “god damn” y’all crazy. Lots of people are looking at their very expensive HC’s this morning in a different way, to wit: why cannot you do that?

Everyone should be demanding a no excuses year 6 from sark, period. Especially after what we just witnessed last night. It can be done. Sark has a lot of talent. He knows how Bama was run and he beat a Saban led Bama squad but you got to GRIND day in and day out and find people to be in the trenches with you who want to grind with you. Not a bunch of stripper loving monkey having drinking wingmen whose focus isn’t solely making UT a dynasty.

I know QE’s injuries kept him from being a Mendoza like Heisman candidate but sark failed that guy with shit team management and failure to fix the OLine and shit RedZone play calling. He has NEXT year to turn this shit around so he don’t do the same damn thing to arch.

and thanks at @TreatyOak you were right about Quinn. I don’t want to see Arch get failed too bc Sark’s focus ain’t where it needs to be. we should fucking demand it from him or he can GTFO. He has all the money and support in the world to accomplish what Cig has year over year.

I think Cig is building a fucking dynasty at fucking Indiana. We should be demanding it of Sark. He can do better and he damn well should know it. We will see how it pans out for Cig but something tells me that he won’t go 5-7 next year or 8-4 or 9-3. Or on the outside of the playoffs looking in.

I love everyone. Even the people who hate me or have me on ignore and everyone who knows me as a poster should know this, people need to expect Cig like results out of Sark year over year. I don't think the problem is that we think we're too good for someone like Cignetti; the problem is that too many people think Sark needs to be shown the door because for the first time in 3 years, we may not make the playoffs...and can we please put the "seven win Steve" shit to bed.  It's just lazy, stupid and objectively wrong.  If you can't see dramatic improvement in the overall state of our program over the last 5 years, then I don't know what to tell you, and if you insist on raging because we're not having Nick Saban levels of domination, then you should probably prepare for a lifetime of disappointment.  I will be very interested to see what people say next year if Indiana takes a step backward...probably nothing.

Well, yeah. It's Indiana. They can afford to take gambles like that because, well, they don't have the weight of the world on their shoulders like a Texas, Bama, OU, Michigan, USC, UF, UGA, watching their every move. Had Cig and Indiana flipped, no one would bat an eye. They hit the lottery, and honestly, good for them. This is why we need party more in CFB, to get moments like these.

Florida is getting shit because they're a name brand. Just like we took shit for hiring Charlie Strong, or having our incompetent AD fly out to beg Harsin to take the OC job. We got dunked on, and rightfully so. It's embarrassing as fuck. We, UF, and all the big name schools are set to a different standard, whereas Indiana didn't have anyone outside of basketball who gave a af, other than IU grads and fans, so their standard was "let's throw spaghetti against the wall and see what sticks." It worked. Most of the time it doesn't work, but just like Bowling Green once had Urban Meyer, OU has Cignetti, who may choose to stay, and I hope he does. Seeing IU choke out fOSU, Oregon, Michigan, etc is why CFB is the absolute best sport.

Man, now there's a name I haven't heard in a long, long time. I wonder whatever happened to him? Low key, Central Michigan has actually had some absolute ballers— Antonio Brown, JJ Watt before he transferred, Joe Staley, Eric Fisher, Joe Ostman, Josh Gordy are just the ones I can think of. They also have more recent #1 overall picks than we do (Eric Fisher).

Kyle Hamilton, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor (Virginia Tech has put out some really good talent), Derwin James, Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu, Brian Dawkins, Eric Berry, Tyrann Mathieu (honey badger don't sleep), Minkah Fitzpatrick.

When you know, you know.
