If you don’t think that the Mythosaur is getting tamed by Bo, you haven’t been paying attention:

1) She saw the mythosoaur was real and got her faith back.

2) She took in the flying dragon babies as wards.

3) She won the dark saber back

4) ???

5) Profit

Yeah, it's feeling like a long game of Filoni's - use Mandalorian to wrap up Bo's story line he had planned from the Clone Wars.

Its a big universe, I think theres room for many Star Wars visions, from Andor to Mando to Jedi. But maybe we can just forget about the Resistance and First Order

And it's fitting that Mandalorian is the first time that Star Wars dropped the f-bomb, in particularly "motherfucker".  Resistance and First Order didn't do that.

I will say if that first legendary Mandalorian tamed a mythosaur then Bo Katan will also. I guess I thought before they went to the living waters that quote about the beast was that it was defeated or killed, but I haven’t gone back and watched.

Spy talk in order of who I think it is…

1. Axe Woves
2. Pirate Mandalorians
3. The Armorer

I guess it’s how you wanna see the air assault play out…

Will Axe Woves alert the mando fleet?
Will the Armorer do something to sabotage the fleet?
Will the “too weak Pirate Mando” do something once they are aboard the Light Crusier?

I still think the children of the watch and the armorer are so entrenched in their faith, she can’t be the spy… which is why I think it’s Axe or the Pirates.

I think it may be the Armorer. Goes back to DeNiro in Heat when he was asked who gave them up to be ambushed. He responded with, "who wasn't there?".
The Armorer wasn't there. Probably knew something was up. My thought. We'll find out Wednesday.

Axe left the fight early too. Remember he escaped up the hole in the ceiling

Apropos of nothing other than continuing the shitting on the sequel trilogy upthread, I watched Explorers with my kids the other night (‘80s movie) and the cheesy space movie character at the drive in was Starkiller.   Jesus, JJ. You weren’t even trying.

Back on topic - I still think it’s the armorer now that we know the other Mandalorians weren’t the ones that busted out Fring, but it was his stormtroopers in beskar.  There is a scene where they show the armorer flying back to the fleet outside the atmosphere of Amanda lore but nothing else. It was an unneeded scene if they weren’t going to show her reconnecting with the fleet, unless…..   I’ll probably be wrong.

Daek Starkiller was in the first draft of the original script Lucas wrote for Star Wars. JJ's a hack but it was a nod to that or an amazing coincidence that JJ picked a name pretty much exactly like Death Star. If you'd like to read just how bad Star Wars could've been, take a look at this page: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Adventures_of_the_Starkiller,_Episode_I:_The_Star_Wars

Disney should totally make that draft as an animated feature.

It's just to set the context when she finds out about the ambush (or when she gets ambushed herself). There is no way the armorer is a spy. If so, she's been playing one hell of a long game.

Grogu has shown he can use the force to tame large beasts, and thanks to that bitchin' IG death mech armor they just conveniently gave him, he got a big physical upgrade that makes him large enough to wield human sized weapons like the dark saber. Just sayin'.

I think y’all are expecting a little too much GoT with the armorer. Filoni has told us who she is. I don’t expect him to randomly subvert our expectations.

Yeah the fact that EVERYONE is predicting that she’s the “spy” makes me think she’s probably not.

I saw an interesting theory on Reddit that the other “spies” are Hux’s dad and the old guy with the mustache (can’t recall his name - he’s Thrawn’s right-hand man) on the “shadow council”… and that they are spies for Thrawn, who is testing the loyalty of the others on the council… e.g. they are the only two who acted like they weren’t on board with Gus’s “We need new leadership and forget about Thrawn” stance.

Yeah…Gus installed her prior to S1 when he thought Project Grogu Blood was a done deal, had no idea who Din Djarin was, and had no reason to see Bo Katan as a threat anymore. What was the point, to keep tabs on 20 or so random Mandos living in the sewers of Navarro? What was the upside to the Armorer in turning on her cult, to get to live in a sewer on Navarro, be paid in Imperial Credits that are no good, and one day retire and maybe get some glass-front property on New Mandalore?

Exactly. Even though it is “only” cartoon media, I think we have enough work to see how Filoni works. He doesn’t do big twists that no one saw coming because no hint was given previously in the show. For the most part he shows the journey for that character. Callus is was probably the biggest established role that had a turn, but he had a season (2?) building up that change with small steps. So no, the armorer isn’t going to be turned in to a spy out of nowhere for no reason.

Yeah usually the case, Filoni usually tells a story in his heel turns.

Agent Kallus was for sure a long turn to the rebellion.

Thank you for summing up her storyline.

Yeah, Filoni has taken stuff that had loose ends or was never fully developed and developed them, tied them up, improved upon old material, etc., but he was involved with this from the start, so I doubt he'd have her hanging out there like that and then make her the spy without having put in more effort on why and how she could be the spy.

I thought it was fine, tbh - FINE, not great.  Too short - maybe they should have released 7 and 8 together as one big finale.

Everything wrapped up a bit too nicely, no big surprises or reveals - honestly, if they hadn't already announced season 4, it would be a fine ending for the Mando as main character series, where he and Grogu could show up in Ahsoka on occasion and then the movie that wraps up the Filoni live action shows, of course.

I guess we shall wait 2-3 years to see what they come up with for season 4.  Hopefully back to Season 1 roots.

I'm a bit disappointed we didn't at least get a hint of anybody showing up from the crew of the Ghost or Thrawn at the end. But I should have guessed, as that's not really Filoni's style so much.

Spoiler

They caught a lot of shit for injecting Mandalorian stuff into Boba Fett's show, and this feels like it would be treading into injecting Ahsoka stuff into Mandalorian, even though it makes some sense because of Sabine/Bo/Thrawn/etc.

Plus Ahsoka needs to start with a bang.

Should probably spoiler that stuff this early in the morning.

Yep... I'm in the crowd that says "it was fine."  No real surprises, but some fun moments.  Where'd Zeb go?  I'd much rather see him again than Filoni in a Cad Bane hat.

Yeah don’t click on the thread on release day if you ain’t watched it. Anyone being spoilered is their own fault

Meh, some people click on it early in the morning forgetting that it is release day and there might be folks already discussing it. Other people might want to see reactions but avoid spoilers to get themselves hyped up. It doesn't take a lot of effort to add spoiler tags to anything that might be a bit spoilery as a courtesy especially to the first group, but it's not something I would get too worked up over.

Yeah that was Zeb earlier and Pellaeon in this last episode.

Everyone already got the Thrawn/Sabine/Hera tease on the Snips trailer.

The only one who hasn’t been shown now is Ezra and I kinda expect/hope Filoni keeps that close to the vest for a real shock intro.

I’m also expecting Kanan Jarrus(Freddie prince jr) to have a force ghost role when Ezra’s backstory is shown.

There was a holo of Ezra on the Ahsoka trailer.

Told all you dumb asses it wasn’t the armorer.

Was a good episode and a good ending. Time for Mandalor to not be held back by the darksaber. The mandalorian can do more space cowboy samurai stories with din, or it can turn to focus on Bo rebuilding Mandalor, or both. Or go somewhere else.

I also liked that they didn’t turn towards over powering Grogu to save the day at the end. He was able to save them from the fire as he did in S1, but but it didn’t make him pass out from exhaustion. Baby yoda steps.

Whoever said that live action couldn't do Mandalorian battles justice like animation can needs to rethink things a bit.

Now we know why they had some cheap filler episodes.

During that whole sequence, my son was bouncing off the couch.  Hell, I was impressed.

Seeing the armorer swing her hammer and connecting was pretty damn satisfying

I just discovered that the D+ app blocks you from screenshots on your phone. I want a good red picture of Bo and the Armorer when Bo first draws the Darksaber, and then one of the armorer when she connects. Those were both awesome shots.

Bo Katan. You’re reinforcements have arrived.
