I get the sense Moscow is trying to drag this into winter when their trade leverage with the EU will be at its peak. What will happen then?

Oh wow, Nissan fears that the war in Ukraine "may become more serious" than the scores of thousands of people that have already been slaughtered and/or kidnapped?  Wow, thanks for all the concern, Nissan.

Also, go fuck yourself, Nissan.

Germany will show the same resolve they have since this whole thing started.

Ok, NOW we're seeing sanctions that matter.

The effect that < 10 HIMARS are already having on Russia’s ability to press forward really underscores how seriously a NATO force would obliterate them in a direct conflict.

Yes, continue to justify NATO’s existence.  Brilliant.

That would be a 3 day 'war'.

But do they know where the Posse East is?  If they figure that one out, I'll really start to get worried.

My Posse’s on Broadway.

#Lavrov: "the longer Ukrainians resist, the more we will kill civilians"

I can’t wait until we get the session from tomorrow where they flip out about NATO expansion.

Even though I don’t speak Russian, I can sense the desperation in their voices. They’re now saying things like “we can rebuild our economy” instead of “the sanctions didn’t work, we’re stronger than ever”. Sorry guys. You fucked around and now you’re going to find out.

Do you know what the rest of the world should do, though?

Hurt them more.  Hurt them much, much, much more.  When you have your opponent in pain.....double down.   Finish them.

Wouldn't take close to that long. These guys are getting their shit pushed in by our salvage/surplus shit. A legit nato offensive would ruin them in hours. Our biggest problem would be Poland not turning off all coms and continuing to pummel their ass after Russia surrendered.

Not doubting that.  I’m mocking Putin’s ideas that this would be a 3 day war, when in reality, a coordinated NATO finish job on this would most undoubtedly be.

And lets not forget the hurt the Poles put on them in the 1920's. And that was with over half their army still stuck in France. Would not be 3 days, but take nukes off the table and yeah, we own them.

Honestly.... and I know you can't take the risk because even a blind squirrel finds a nut, but looking at the personnel and equipment Russia is using I would be surprised if they have a single nuke capable of firing. They can't change tires. How the fuck are they supposed to maintain a nuclear arsenal?   They are the biggest paper tiger in the history of the world

The Kursk strike allegedly hit the bombers that fired on the shopping mall.

What if their nukes don't actually work? Don't nukes require a bunch of maintenance and care?

Nukes require some maintenance but even if only a third of their nukes are functional then that is still enough to kill millions.

Rumors UKR got M777s close enough to Vovchansk to take out the rail line from Belgorod to the Donbas.

The attack on the mall was with KH 22 missiles which were older Soviet tech that even Ukraine discontinued. They were originally designed as anti-ship missiles for use against aircraft carriers. So Russia is reaching really deep in their old warchest at this point. Still fucking dangerous but I'm curious how much they have got stockpiled before they have to start rolling out some trebuchets.

Russia increasingly relying on heavy Soviet-era missiles, Western defence officials claim

Russian forces are increasingly relying on heavy Soviet-era weapons that can cause mass casualties and significant collateral damage in their bid to make headway in capturing eastern Ukraine.

Fierce, prolonged fighting is depleting resources on both sides, according to British and US defence officials.

Russian bombers are thought to have been launching hefty 1960s-era anti-ship missiles in Ukraine, the UK Defence Ministry said on Saturday.

The Kh-22 missiles, with a reported range of 1,000 kilometres, were primarily designed to destroy aircraft carriers and can carry a nuclear warhead.

When used in ground attacks with conventional warheads, they "are highly inaccurate and therefore can cause severe collateral damage and casualties," the ministry said.

It is unclear how many Kh-22s Russia has in its arsenal. By 2006, Ukraine has scrapped 423 missiles it inherited from the Soviet Union after deciding to decommission the weapon.

Both sides have expended large amounts of weaponry in what has become a grinding war of attrition for the eastern region of coal mines and factories known as the Donbas, placing huge strains on their resources and stockpiles.

Russia is likely using the 5.5-tonne anti-ship missiles because it is running short of more precise modern missiles, the UK ministry said. It gave no details of where exactly such missiles are thought to have been deployed.

Why would that be a problem?

Part of the reason why their conventional army is in shit condition is that they've been spending the money to keep their nukes well-maintained.

Given how they keep hitting settlements without any Ukrainian soldiers around, this is all by design.

But you would think at some point somebody would say "we should save everything in case they take Kherson!"

I've been mostly unplugged for a week, any quick links for general updates?

"The News" doesn't report shit, except some Boxing match that some dude named "Roe" headlined apparently. Golden State Won, And CO won some Hockey and it's hot AF everywhere.
