Because I don’t wanna start a thread and this seems to be an ok place for this, maybe not, whatever.

Assuming that pricks like the Canadian Justin Bieber and now the Irishman Connor McGregor are on visitor visas or on green cards....why are they still allowed to conduct business and possibly live on US soil after committing felonies?

Conor will likely be convicted of something bad enough he will have his visa revoked - and won't be allowed to fight in the US ever again.

Back to UK for him. Four major stabbings in London today, bonus points I guess.

In one year, 65 per cent of asylum seekers assessed after claiming to be juveniles were judged to be over 18.

Home Office figures reveal that there have been 12,942 disputes over the ages of child asylum seekers since 2006, with 5,965 – around 46 per cent – found to be over 18 in this period.

Ministers have ruled out using medical tests, including dental checks, to assess the age of migrants. Citing guidance by the Dental Medical Association, they say tests of teeth are ‘inaccurate, inappropriate and unethical’.

But Britain is one of only three EU countries not to use medical checks to verify the age of child asylum seekers. The others are Ireland and Cyprus.

Every other nation calls in doctors, dentists or psychologists to root out adults who are abusing the asylum system by pretending to be children.

A Home Office spokesman said: ‘After consultation with stakeholders we published revised guidance on age assessments and we have committed to produce more child-friendly information in a range of languages to help children better understand the asylum system.’

Despite concerns that adults pose as minors to get into the UK, officials do not carry out medical tests, subjecting them instead to a series of rigorous interviews.

Once a person claims asylum, initial interviews are conducted to gather information such as identity, medical conditions and age.

If a refugee does not have a birth certificate or travel documents, a Home Office screening officer must decide whether the person is a child based on ‘physical appearance and demeanour’.

Unless the refugee appears ‘significantly’ over 18, they should be ‘afforded the benefit of the doubt and treated as children’. Officials will continue to attempt to collect more information to check their age. If there are still doubts about a refugee’s claim to be a child the individual will then be age-assessed by two local council social workers.

They consider family composition, schooling, experience of life, ability to interact with others, and psychological development, alongside appearance and demeanour.

The Home Office has ruled out using medical tests, including dental checks, to assess the age of migrants.

Citing guidance by the Dental Medical Association, ministers have said tests of teeth are ‘inaccurate, inappropriate and unethical’. Experts said age assessments using dental X-rays were unreliable, with it being possible to wrongly estimate someone’s age by two or three years.

I don't get the point that's being made.

According to the article, 1/3 of all asylum seekers are younger than 18.  Okay...

Some are trying to portray themselves as being that age. Okay...

How many of the less than 18 are parents? No indication...

What's normal for refugees???

What, exactly, is the author trying to express in that piece? Massive fraud? Compared to what?

Declaring that 1/3 of refugees are minors doesn't tell me anything other than a substantial portion of asylum-seekers are young. Is there something else I'm missing?

What am I supposed to be upset about?

Its a shit ton of people lying about their age for benifits. Whats normal for refugees doesnt fit this situation because they obviously arent redugees, they are just people who want a welfare check for not working in countries they dont culturally fit into.

Look at the no-go zones and ask yourself, why?

The results from fixed‐effects regression models reveal that undocumented immigration does not increase violence. Rather, the relationship between undocumented immigration and violent crime is generally negative, although not significant in all specifications. Using supplemental models of victimization data and instrumental variable methods, we find little evidence that these results are due to decreased reporting or selective migration to avoid crime.

Shocking.

Video captured Sunday shows a man on a motorcycle, Darin Hendrickson yelling for the driver of a car to pull over.

Hendrickson said the driver threw a metal object at him and, instead of pulling over, the driver slams into him and takes off.

Deputies said Medrano-Bonilla was driving without a license. Deputies arrested him for aggravated battery and driving without a license.

"There's a reason why he didn't have a license, there's a reason why he didn't own a car and there's a reason why he ran," said Hendrickson.

That reason, said Sarasota Sheriff Tom Knight, is because Medrano-Bonilla is here illegally. He came to the U.S from El Salvador in 2014.

Collins said Aguilar had proper documentation to work for him. And he's been paying taxes since working for Collins.

Aguilar's wife, Virginia, and the couple's four children were not in the U.S. until recently. She was caught crossing the border, illegally, with the children. Collins said she has been meeting with ICE officers since she arrived, and is seeking asylum for herself and the children because of the violence in Guatemala. Collins said Virginia met with ICE officers as recently as last week, and has another meeting scheduled for this Friday. At times, Aguilar has accompanied his wife, who is pregnant, to some of the meetings, Collins said.

Collins said he isn't sure why ICE officers came for Aguilar and he was upset that they came onto his property without any notification or permission and roughed up Aguilar in front of his four children.

When you look the other way you do the same to the lower third of the American labor force/economic scale. You flood the sector with cheaper labor and force them to compete on an unequal playing field. There is no chance for upward mobility, all that is left is to vote for larger hand outs (or forced minimum wage hikes) to bridge the gap forever.  It’s forced servitude

Why we continue to favor one mother simply trying to provide for her family vs an American one in the exact same situation is mind bottling. Open borders has disastrous consequences for everyone not in the upper class who enjoy no threat of competition for jobs, housing, health care l or education no matter how many illegally invade.

There are a ton of migrants who are willing to do work that no Americans want, especially with the unemployment rate being so low. Farmers are having to look to using sophisticated robot machinery to pick fruit because they can't get enough workers. The only people who are taking these jobs are non-US citizens.

how on earth would you know this?  These industries have never had to operate in an economy where they didn't have access to illegal labor.  They have never had the market decide a price for this service.  There would be a wage point that would attract workers, but they never have to explore that option when there is an endless supply of replacements streaming across the border.  You suppress wages and increase competition putting a comparable American worker at a disadvantage.  He has no job security or leverage to increase his or her wage, because they are instantly replaceable.

The truth is we have no idea what a real wage for these jobs in a true capitalistic market.  If good prices need to be increased to cover the price of labor needed to attract a work force, so be it.

Americans won't migrate for low wage jobs.  The unemployment rate is already very low.  Why would someone leave a job in their home town to pick fruit in another state temporarily?  Also, these jobs already pay more than minimum wage.  Americans simply do not want them and do not want to move to where they are.  These jobs attract migrants because they are migratory jobs.  Come during harvesting season, live in migrant style housing, leave when the harvest is done.  There is no way to make an American with a family quit a stable minimum wage job to go do that.

Again, that is what they are willing to pay. There are plenty of seasonal industries where the individuals travel for work. The caveat is that they usually pay well. Funny how that works. See oil rigs, crab boats etc. You declare defeat with zero evidence to back up your claims. Americans have shown they will temporarily relocate for work when the money is right. These farmers have never tried to figure out a rate that would attract American workers because

1. They have never had to

2. If their competitor doesn’t they are at an immediate disadvantage.

While its comical that you think the country could afford food prices if fruit pickers could pay offshore oil wages, I'll take it seriously.  You already responded to a post by someone else discussing technology in the industry.  This is already occurring at a wage rate well below offshore oil wages.  So rather than paying fruit pickers 6 figures, they'll probably just use the technology that is already developed and being developed.  And that's also happening in offshore oil where jobs are less plentiful than they used to be.  All these jobs are at or past the threshold wage rate where production technology becomes cheaper than labor.

And even if it didn't, you fail to understand purchasing power.  Your dollar denominated wage means nothing really. What matters is your ability to purchase things with it.  If your wages, and everyone else's, rise to meet the increased cost of food, then the fruit picking wage ends up essentially the same (Right in that sweet spot where it only attracts actual migrants).

You can pay higher prices for goods and services or you can pay higher taxes and give more entitlements to keep markets artificially depressed - and the poors on your teet.

So you think it is a good investment for the American tax payer to foot the burden of their illegal work force so...

1.They hold off on automation and technology??? - why exactly? as you said they are not providing Americans jobs

2.We should allow open borders and illegal immigration to protect the $6/hr jobs of non-Americans and cheap fruit (until they implement more efficient technology - or we import more)?

As for your Highlights copy paste about the power of the dollar, I guess you are assuming all of this in a vacuum, and the cost of the illegal immigrant (est. to be $8K/yr) to the American tax payer as well as that individuals family and a possible anchor baby all would offset any "purchasing power" derived from artificially cheaper fruit and protecting $6/hr jobs for non-Americans.

You can still have a robust guest worker program to deal with these industries and keep the cheap fruit.  This has zero to do with trying to stop the bleeding from the illegal immigrants and border security.

your strawman is beyond predictable in every instance

Lulz.  $6 an hour?  They can't get enough workers at $15 an hour.

The cost of an illegal immigrant, whatever the fuck that may be, is irrelevant.  I pay more than that to educate American children that aren't mine.  Abstract tax burdens aren't comparable.  The massive federal deficit should tell you that neither you nor anyone else is paying that claimed 8k.  You will be paying for a direct increase in production costs for a good that everyone has to buy, food.

Busloads of migrants began arriving on Tuesday at a shelter that was a five minute-walk from the border and within sight of a U.S. flag waving under an overpass connecting the two countries.

While many rested in tents after a month-long journey across Mexico, others wandered up to the border to contemplate the next stage in their journey.

"The wall doesn't look that tall," said Kimberly George, a 15-year-old girl from Honduras as she looked toward a stunted barrier a few feet away. "I really want to cross it."

Migrants said they fled their homes in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras because of death threats from local gangs, the murder of family members or political persecution.

Moving from town to town, the migrant caravan became a stumbling block for U.S.-Mexico relations after Trump unleashed a series of tweets in early April, telling Mexican authorities to stop them.

Easy votes for Democrats and cheap labor for Republicans on the way.

Paris (AFP) – Investigators on Sunday were probing the background of a 20-year-old Frenchman born in Russia who killed one man and wounded four other people during a stabbing spree, with sources close to the case saying he had been on a watchlist of suspected extremists.

The Saturday night attack in a lively area of theatres and restaurants near the main opera house was the latest in a series of suspected jihadist strikes in France that have killed some 245 people since 2015.

He was shot and killed by police after an officer unsuccessfully tried to stop him with a Taser.

Judicial sources said the man was born in Chechnya, a Muslim-dominated Russian republic which has been the scene of two bloody separatist wars since the 1990s.

Hundreds of Islamic militants from Chechnya have left to join terror groups in the Middle East, North Africa and other regions in recent years.

Russian news reports said the Russian embassy in Paris was pressing French officials for more information on the knifeman, whose parents have been taken into custody for questioning.

Investigators have not yet said when the man arrived in France.

The man, born in November 1997, was on France’s so-called “S file” of people suspected of radicalised views who could pose security risks, the sources said, though he did not have a criminal record.

ISIS knifeman, 20, who killed one and injured four in rampage near Paris opera house is named as a refugee from Chechnya who 'was on anti-terror watchlist' and claimed asylum in France a decade ago

An Islamic State terrorist who arrived in France as a refugee from war-torn Chechnya launched a nine-minute lethal knife rampage in Paris before being gunned down, it emerged today.

The 20-year-old, named as Khamzat Asimov, murdered one man and severely wounded four others - including a Chinese and Luxembourg citizen - in the attacks close to the historic Opera Garnier, in the centre of the city.

Hours afterwards, his parents were both arrested at the family home in Paris, where they have lived since fleeing Chechnya in the early 2000s.

He was on an anti-terror watchlist of suspected extremists, sources close said today.

Police said they had arrested and held for questioning a friend of the attacker in Strasbourg.

Outlining details of the latest terrorist bloodbath in Paris, police said they received the first emergency call at 8.47pm on Saturday.

2016 July 26: Two teenagers slit the throat of an 85-year-old priest in front of five worshippers at his church in the western town of Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray Abdel Malik Petitjean and Adel Kermiche, both aged 19, are killed by police. The murder is claimed by the IS. The teenagers had sworn allegiance to the group in a video.

2016 July 14: A Tunisian ploughs a truck through a large crowd gathered for Bastille Day fireworks on the Promenade des Anglais in the Mediterranean city of Nice. The attack kills 86 people and injures more than 400. The driver, Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, 31, is shot dead by security forces. IS claims responsibility.

2016 June 13: Larossi Abballa, 25, uses a knife to kill a police officer and his partner at their home in Magnanville, west of Paris, in front of their young son Abballa is killed by a police SWAT team, but has already claimed the murders on social media in the name of IS.

2015 November 13: France is hit by the worst terror attacks in its history. IS jihadists armed with assault rifles and explosives strike outside a France-Germany football match at the national stadium, Paris cafes, and the Bataclan concert hall in a coordinated assault that leaves 130 people dead and more than 350 wounded.

2015 August 21: Passengers prevent a bloodbath on a high-speed Thalys train from Amsterdam to Paris, tackling a man who opened fire on travellers. He was armed with a Kalashnikov assault rifle, an automatic pistol and a box-cutter. The gunman is identified as 25-year-old Moroccan national Ayoub El Khazzani, known to intelligence services for links to radical Islam.

2015 June 26: Frenchman Yassin Salhi, 35, kills and beheads his boss and displays the severed head, surrounded by two Islamic flags, on the fence of a gas plant in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier in southeastern France. He tries to blow up the factory, but is arrested. He commits suicide in his jail cell.

2015 April 19: Sid Ahmed Ghlam, an Algerian IT student, is arrested on suspicion of killing a woman who was found shot dead in her car, and of planning an attack on a church in the Paris suburb of Villejuif. Prosecutors say they found documents about Al-Qaeda and IS at his home, and that he had been in touch with a suspected jihadist in Syria about an attack on a church.

2015 February 3: A knife-wielding man attacks three soldiers guarding a Jewish community centre in Nice. The 30-year-old assailant, Moussa Coulibaly, is arrested. In custody, he expresses his hatred for France, the police, the military and Jews.

2015 January 7-9: Two men armed with Kalashnikov rifles storm the Paris offices of satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo killing 12 people. A policewoman is killed just outside Paris the following day, while a gunman takes hostages at a Jewish supermarket, four of whom are killed. The attackers are killed in separate shootouts with police, but not before claiming allegiance to Al-Qaeda and the IS.

Just a normal Sunday morning with a strong pot of coffee and a high degree of suspect for someone who lives to post about bad shit “other people “ do.  You have a point?

The name of the thread is: The West's Huge Migrant Crisis

It seems that someone who goes by the moniker of Judge would see that a post about a Muslim, who came to France as a refugee and is then radicalized, not a radicalized Christian mind you, but a radicalized Muslim, and then, while stabbing people in Paris, yells Allah Akbar, belongs in this thread.

I'd be interested in what you think does belong in the thread titled: The West's Huge Migrant Crisis.

You can post what you want.  And it is an interesting problem that Europe is facing.  I have a hard time thinking of them as “West” although that’s the world view.   Everything originates from the east.  I suppose I just said something because the only posts of yours I notice are anti whatever. Go post in the food threads or something.

Oh, he's for sure anti-whatever. His whole reason for being is to use individual incidents to demonize all Muslims.

Ha Ha! Ya caught me!

Nah, you are incorrect. In this thread it's about the Muslims who come into the West, using the excuse of being a refugee, and then killing in the name of Allah. It's not hard to follow.

Here in America, you waffle house shooters are by far a bigger problem. Yet there is no thread to demonize large groups for it. Why do you think that is?

You mean demonize mentally ill people ? You wanna demonize them ?  The biggest killers here (other than the ones shouting Alah ahkhbar) have been mentally disturbed people, even the ones shouting racist diatribes have been shown to have had histories of issues dating back a while in many cases.

Oh and the people doing most of the killing in Europe ?  Mostly repatriated citizens or just run of the mill peace loving Muslim refugees.  Funny how anti semitism is seeing new spikes across Europe now...........  I wonder why that is......

Yeah I know you'll refute this with your typical spin on reality, but it'll be fun to read.

Your first problem is that you don't recognize the fact that the majority of Muslim killers are mentally ill as well.  They also always have a long history of psychiatric disorder.  Here again, you demonize all Muslims for the actions of mentally ill men who happen to be Muslim.  Plus, you're a mentally ill white man who hates vast groups of people based on the actions of a few.  You fit every possible comparison with the Waffle House shooter.  Yet, I will still continue to give you the benefit of being responsible for only your own individual actions.

Anti-semitism is spiking because of the actions of your white supremacist folks.  Maybe you forget that France just had a neo-nazi running in the general election.

I recognize an issue with the people doing this regardless of religion, but one religion above all others is responsible right now for the majority of terrorist attacks around  the world.

White supremaciusts in Europe no doubt are causing the rise in European anti semitism (go pedal that lie somewhere that reality doesn't intrude on your fantasy world).  It has nothing to do with the spike in Muslim immigration and Muslims attacking Jews.

Cultural enrichment

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5754521/Three-masked-gunmen-Kalashnikovs-open-fire-crowds-Marseille.html?ITO=1490

Quote

A group of masked attackers in three cars fired AK-47 assault rifles at young people in the French city of Marseille this evening, local media has reported.

One man is said to be 'slightly injured' after the assault, which began at about 5pm and which included the use of handguns.

The gunmen began firing at a crowd of young people outside the city's cultural centre.

A security perimeter has been established in the area.

Christophe Reynaud of the Marseille police said one resident was hit in the head with a butt of a gun and slightly injured during the incident in the Busserine district on early Monday evening.

Reynaud ruled out terrorism as a motive and said the shooting probably was drug-related.

He says the group drove away and has not been apprehended.

Have you ever gone though a no-go Sharia controlled zone?

Also, just curious, are your co-workers part of the "working class" or can they afford to live in the peaceful neighborhoods?
