Re: Moore, I can't help but think the way our WRs showed up at the Combine has gotta help bring him to Austin.
That certainly can't hurt but LSU is about to have 1 WR probably go in the 1st 5-7 picks of the 1st round and a 2nd go probably around 16-20. Our 2 guys will go pretty high as well but their guys will go higher.

Not sure if it has already been mentioned but Full Metal Jacket took a pretty dramatic turn mid movie

I worked at Oshman's Sporting Goods in the DFW area when the Texas 7 events went down. Got a call from the regional manager Christmas night asking me to go to the Irving location on the 26th. I had not turned on the TV all day so had no idea what had happened. Regional guy just told me to turn on the news and that I was part of a group to be there in the morning to "clean up what they would let us".
When I pulled into the parking lot on the morning of the 26th there was obviously a heavy local, state and Federal police presence. I parked my truck right by the front entrance to the store so on every TV "update" when they ran B-roll of the store front while the talking heads gave no updates of any substance there was my truck. There was a real life chalk outline in the freight receiving area where the officer was killed.
Still amazed that they just let the Oshman's group walk right in to an active crime scene less than 48 hours after the capital murder of a police officer. The only real "off limits" areas for us were the business office where the safe was and the gun counter.

After 13 years of what we hope was a great life, our beloved baby girl Dakota crossed the Rainbow Bridge about an hour ago. Lab/Rottie mix who was the smartest, sweetest dog that has ever been part of our family. Cancer and arthritis combination took her down rapidly over the last 48-72 hours.
You know this day is coming when you bring a dog into your family but this never gets any easier no matter how many times you have gone through it before. Can't bring myself to take her Christmas stocking down.
Hook Em baby girl and feel no more pain as you chase all the balls through big green fields, eat all the cheeseburgers and fuss at all the other dogs playing bitey face.

Came up initially as a potential option for us before better WRs entered
Clearly a replacement for when Barion Brown comes here

Tremendous win for the ladies tonight. Mental toughness in big points throughout
Semi-random questions: Do we retire numbers in volleyball? If so, what are the standards to have their number retired?

What would the spreads be in either a Texas - FSU or Alabama - FSU matchup?
-
Finals:
Duncanville 70 - Spring Westfield 28
Southlake Carrol 56 - Byron Nelson 7
Pretty sure both teams would have dominated Louisville

I never thought I would see an offense that makes Iowa look wide open and competent

texags quote from SEC Rant so take it for what it is worth:
"According to a reliable source on TOS, the board and BMA's all agreed and we had a verbal with Fisch on Wednesday, then Bjork went behind everyone's back and started talking to Stoops. This lines up with most saying the Stoops talk started around Thanksgiving. He then negotiated with Stoops and agreed to make him the HC without most of the board or BMA's even knowing about it. People are pissed There are a lot of very angry BMA's who are considering stopping their donations. Also according to the source, Bjork is definitely on his way out as our AD. Sounds like Bjork did this as an FU to our athletic department."

aggy will make history by announcing the hiring of their next head football grifter and the firing of their AD in the same press conference

She has
1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Washington
4. Oregon
5. Florida State
6. Ohio State
7. Texas
She also said this is what she expects the next ranking to be but acknowledged there would be a strong likelihood we would jump OSU if we win next week

So would this indicate that aggy has their man, and the new guy will retain Robinson? Because it’s not a wise move for the program to decide to retain anyone on Jimbo’s staff before clearing it with the new head coach.
Or he could just be doing his job on the recruiting trail regardless of where he ends up.
Unfortunately for the prospect in some cases, nothing says the new head guy has to honor either the offer or even a commitment once they are hired. Unless aggie is stupid enough to wait until after the 1st signing day to make the hire I guess.

This answer from Sark is why I think it would be very unlikely we would take any of the mercenaries from eaTme

I'm not sure this is possible

Montgomery pitched himself into one of the top 2 or 3 free agent SPs in this post season run. Hoping to get him for a reasonable price is probably not happening unless you think 5 for 125 is reasonable for a 32 year old SP.

I don't give shit how good Sewald's fastball is. To throw a first pitch fastball to Seager with a runner on in that situation when you have to know Seager is going to the plate hunting is just asking to FAFO

When you have a talented group of O-linemen coached by Kyle Flood and Paul Chryst continues improvement should be expected not a surprise.

This young man believes in being thorough about his work and playing to the echo of the whistle.
My high school coach called that finishing move "goring them when they are down" which seems particularly appropriate for a future Horn

She has probably seen and endured some real shitty times in her life. Keep building that trust.
Eventually she will know that you are an acceptable member of her pack and will be asleep on your couch.

Brian Brazil passed away this morning. He was the head coach at Hebron from 1999 when the school opened through the 2021 season. He had retired from coaching to be the AD at Prestonwood Christian. He was also the president of the TXHSFB coaches association from 2011-12.
Besides all that he was a really good man. Hebron is planning to name their stadium after him this fall.

How the mighty Yankees have fallen.
That lineup they ran out there tonight would have trouble contending in Triple A. The Rangers need to take full advantage of this trip to the Bronx.

Tkachuk out for game 5 meant Florida was done.
It was announced post game 5 that Tkachuk suffered a fractured sternum in game 3...and still played 16+ minutes in game 4. Maurice said there was just too much pain for Tkachuk to go in game 5.

Shane Rink was the HS teammate of Sam Adams.
Tommy Jeter was another guy from Deer Park a few years earlier than the Brian White era, was a good DT for us and played a few years in the NFL.
Dronett's "connection" to Sam Adams played a pretty large role in Adams not coming to Texas
