Happy for Brooks. He’s going to crush it.

When is the last time the first RB took this long to draft?

looks like he is the 2nd latest 1st RB taken in the modern era.  In 2014 Bishop Sankey was the first running back taken with 54th pick.

I'm legitimately concerned. It appears competent adults could be running aggy. 1) They fired Jimbo after a win/before another guaranteed win against ACU. He'd go all out to beat LSU and get himself another year. They stopped his momentum before he could start campaigning. 2) Their top choice appears to be DeBoer.

I don’t see any connections of DeBoer to Collie Station? UW is > A&M; Seattle is > College Station; B1 = SEC

What kind of salary is DeBoer on? Can’t UW just match any offer?

This string of the latest shit they're discussing is astounding even for those dumb motherfuckers. Some of the most ignorant shit I've ever read on the Internet, and I've had people in ops for digital businesses sending me images and emails from moronic customers for two decades. This stuff beats that shit and has to be coming from some of the same clowns. Holy shit the stupidity.

That considered, there's a recurring theme I keep reading from these idiots and I've also heard it when they call in to some of the national radio shows. That theme is basically this: Texas fans will not get along with other SEC fans and it will ruin the league.

I guess I have a few thoughts about that.

    3) What are they expecting Texas fans to do at other stadiums that will have SEC fans ruing the day we joined the conference? Are we going to require spot quizzes on Ancient Rome or Calculus that cause fans in the SEC to dread seeing us? Is there an assumption that we're going to show up in ascots and turtlenecks and start slapping opposing fans with our handkerchiefs? Again, what in the fuck is going on here?

Technically the signing period ends on 4/1/23, but after that he can just come to school as long as he's accepted by the university. At some point he'll need to sign scholarship papers if he doesn't want to pay.

Which creates an interesting question. Could he never sign a NLI, still attend and play for Texas, but next year decide to go play someplace else? If he is essentially a walk-on is he bound by ncaa rules when it comes to transferring? I honestly don't know the answer to that?

    Baker Mayfield says “Hi!”

NCAA passed a rule in 2019 called:

the ‘Baker Mayfield Rule‘ as well. This approval from the NCAA allows walk-ons to transfer and play immediately for another school without a waiver, a sharp contrast to the saga the Heisman winner went through when he moved from Texas Tech to Oklahoma a few years ago.

So, I think he would be free to transfer any season, multiple(?) seasons.

None of those guys are as fast as Worthy.  He has an important role as a slashing type WR.  It’s Neyor or bust as far as a guy who can go beast mode on a deep ball.  I don’t think Cook is that guy.

Remember, Cook beat Evan Stewart in a foot race this summer. Stewart ran a 10.58 in  HS.  He may not be as fast as Worthy, but he is plenty fast to stretch the defense.

Do you know the terms of Bijan's NIL deal with lambo? It could just be the privilege of free rental for a year, which isn't worth much in dollar terms. Let's say a lambo costs $300k and has a 10-year depreciable life, you're talking only $30k value per year. Bijan probably would just buy one when he goes pro.

That would just about cover the insurance cost.  Depending on the capitalized costs, I would guess it is closer to $90,000 value per year.

  7. I know it has been mentioned before, but finally got around to watching About Time with Domhnall Gleason and Rachel McAdams.  Quirky romcom that surprises you with the emotional depth and connection.

I would highly recommend this movie.  Streaming on Netflix free for a short time.

Does anyone in soccer have worse body language than CR7?

He has scored only 1 goal in 2022.  He is frustrated and clearly showing it.   Still their most dangerous player.
