  1. Look - we all know the system is bullshit, but the answers suck too.  This is a booster and bag man paradise, it will truly be the Wild West.  It's sad these kids lose money while others make millions, but I don't know the answer and neither do they.  It's a no win for amateur collegiate sports.  E.G. - I'm an Alabama fan with a car dealership - you don't think I'm not going to offer a 5 star recruit a 6 figure, multi year deal?  You don't think other bag men will chip in to alleviate the costs?  It's a no win, and will truly separate 10 to 15 teams from the rest of everyone; more specifically, 6-7 teams will dominate.  That's not even including what's going to happen with name sports brand and what basketball turned into.  On top of that, these kids will need agents now for commercial prospects - introducing the agents to collegiate sports - ask the NBA how that worked.

I appreciate the respect, but I’m not in love with Eaton. He’s fine as one of the last guys in the class, but I’m not counting on him for much.

Alford seems all in and mutually exclusive from Eaton, which satisfies my need for him.  From your earlier Eaton posts, why do you think Herman and Washington care about this one enough to send coaches to his game on an off week?  What are they seeing that we're not?

Interesting: Andrew Ellis (tOSU guy) just put in a CB for Ryan Watts to tOSU. Would imagine that has something to do with how hard OU is pushing for Eaton. Looks like Watts decommitted from OU tonight too.

    Watts just de-committed

Good on both sides; talented corner winds up out of conference and Eaton gets snacked up.  I respect CTJ and others on here, but I just don't see it with Eaton.  Tight hips, doesn't change directions well, doesn't like contact, a bit stiff.  He's a wr masquerading as a corner, and if it comes to him being a wideout, I'll take a Marcus Washington or JSN.

Someone said he's a more athletic Chris Brown.  He's never been that nor will he ever - Brown has been a hitter and tough SOB since Elsik - you either like contact or don't.

It's fun to joke, but this kid is going to tear it up in this offense.  LJH was a raw prospect and the kid is now on the Saints active roster, should have been drafted if he stayed.  Omeire is much more polished and quick twitched, he's going to rake in this offense.

And if you watch his tape, he does what Herman loves most out of wr's - big body that blocks.

To be fair if we had more/better "regular" LBs like Mitchell, it'd free Ossai to be a more pure pass rusher and absolutely wreck shop.

I agree, but I love the way he plays the run and makes tackles 5 and 10 yards down the field, and that's not including the pass rush.  Kid is the best backer we've had in a while.

What I am hearing is that those guys are already on our team.

What you should be hearing is your conscious telling you it's a stupid f'ing take.  Duvernay is a beast this year, but he was developed into that, it didn't happen over night.  And any take that describes our linebackers as "meh" without identifying that Ossai is playing like a beast and future 1st rounder is bullshit.

I heard Morris hates Herman from his SMU days. Don't think Herman has much of an opinion about him, either way.

It stems from a comment Herman made during an interview while at UH.  Here's the excerpt:

We understand the price of a championship. That price is the same for Alabama as it is for Ohio State and UH. In order to pay that price, you've got to be willing to invest. There's a price for nine-win seasons and prices for eight-, seven-, six-win seasons. Those prices are a lot easier to pay.

And if you're satisfied with going 7-5 and going to the Poulan Weedeater Bowl, then great. Then you're in the wrong program and we'll find a place for you to go. I hear there's a private school up in Dallas that's really looking to try to get to seven wins. We can certainly find you a home.

  9. I'm going to really interested to see where he gets drafted.  Kid is Yancied up,  loves contact, and he's quick to the ball - I want him on my team.  Watching him shake off the block from an offensive lineman (75) after the pick at 14:06 in the second quarter, and then blow up another offensive lineman (76) is a thing of beauty.  I would put that play on every strength and conditioning video to recruits.

He still has Jackson CB'ed to ... wait for it... A&M.  Shocking, ain't it?

If the higher ups told you that hope drives sales and directly your paycheck, you'd play the game too.  He's toeing the company line, dangling the carrot on a stick.  Now, would a lot of us choose that career - I'll be nice to some of the guys that work hard and watch the board.

he was in the game. so he hasnt been written off. but avoiding contact at CB is a helluva way to become persona non grata with Herman

I know he was in the game but it's seemingly because depth reasons and not merit at this point. Hope he makes good on the talent we spent so much time recruiting.

I'm always for a solid ROI, but I'm also glad we've reached the point where if a high recruit doesn't pan out we have a hungry Kenyatta Watson or Adimora eager to step in.  I'm an optimist, but if Cook can't cut it than we need to move on no matter the stars, can't fall in love with label brands.  The way we're recruiting, we're going to have recruits that we love the tape or the rankings, but they just don't pan out.  Difference is now, we have guys waiting in the wings who are just as athletic and hungry for the spot.  I'm not writing Cook off, but if Watson or Adimora give us a better chance, then that's what needs to happen.

yeah, sandwiched in between his “two great plays” he miserably gave up outside leverage and got blocked soundly and thoroughly to allow a touchdown.  don’t go sucking his dick just yet.  but yes, he’s a freshman, and that tipped ball was cool.

I'll take those two great plays you're offering, thanks.   That's a bullshit take on that touchdown - we were winded, overloaded the right side and they ran off tackle left.  We were short numbers, BJones tried his best to fight the block and make the tackle, but he missed.  You should direct that towards Cook, who lofted through the play and didn't want any contact.

Be excited man, we're deep and athletic enough where we can put in a young talent like Adimora and not a miss beat.  All that talk about blowing dudes has you missing the big picture.

  13. Some of this shit on this board is absurd.  Hudson Card is a great quarterback; kid went and balled out against the best competition there is in the Elite 11 and held his own .  He threw with more zip and velocity than anyone else in the camp, even received an award for it.   The kid is every bit the quarterback Colt was in high school.

Honestly, man, that dickweed doesn't deserve the fucking mention. He doesn't know shit and he frequently does more harm than good for the program. He's also not an additonal data point. Just fucking whiny noise.

Dude wears a fucking flat bill and listens to Fall Out Boy or whatever the new emo shit of the day is.  Fuck his whiny ass
