So my system has it 3.66 expected wins in the last 5. I voted for 4-1 because I'm a fan, but my gut says 3-2 is more likely. My math says:

    5-0: 20.7%
    4-1: 38.9%
    3-2: 28.5%
    2-3: 10.1%
    1-4: 1.7%
    0-5: 0.1%

The annoying part of sports message boards is that this means that if our team plays at a Top 10 level (which is where my system has us rated) we could pretty easily go 3-2 to finish 8-4 and people will be pissed off. Because the Big 12 is fucking good this season. Now to my eyeballs we're not yet a top 10 team so that's why I think 3-2 is the most likely, I'm just saying it's going to be annoying when people think that a 3-2 finish means we played like shit at the end of the season. Meanwhile, if we played like the 15th-20th best team in the country in every single game the rest of the season we would probably go 3-2.

    This seems pretty accurate.

Think 3-2 and 4-1 are the most likely outcomes, personally voted for 4-1. Think we most likely drop the Okie Lite game but who knows…

We can definitely win out if we stay healthy - the team has enough talent, OLine is maturing by the week, and while everyone (me included) likes to shit on the defense, we have given up less than 20 pts on average which I would have gladly taken at the beginning of the year.

Getting to Arlington and winning the B12 would give the program some nice additional momentum heading into the offseason, but we cannot afford to have any let down games for the rest of the schedule

I wasn't.  I was still stinging from the 5-7 season a year before.  And we were 3-2 heading into that game, coming off of Ricky Williams blasting through Rice and Iowa State, which both sucked.  We were also still trying to figure out of this Major Applewhite guy was going to be good, since he was a complete unknown going into the season and only won the job because Richard Walton's season ended against UCLA.

I thought we could win, but I didn't think it was going to be close to the ass-kicking it turned out to be.  Glad I was there live for it.

    - Coming off a 5-7 season

    - Being 3-2 heading into the game

    - Having a Heisman caliber RB

    Sounds somewhat familar...

My point was that the backup QB was actually a big part of why we lost.  You did insinuate he wasn't the only reason, but it came across as if you thought he wasn't a factor.  My bad if I misread that.

Sark didn't set up Card for success in the second half by constantly putting him in 3rd & 8+

Apparently we weren't allowed to pass on the first two downs and our running game was probably averaging below 1 yard per rush after the second Bijan TD.

You can put that on Card (sure, Ewers probably converts more of these 3rd & long than him), but I'd put that first and foremost on the play caller

Why are you looking for one reason?  Do you not understand how smaller problems add incrementally to create one big problem?  The game shouldn't have gone to OT, but once it did, Bijan's fumble was the deal-killer.  That was as big a play as happened all day.  Was he the "reason" we lost?  Well, in that moment, yeah, but we wouldn't have been in the game without him, so . . . complications arise.

Stop being childish little pussies and learn that it's a much longer road than you anticipated.  It's true regardless of what you want to think.

I think you need to improve your reading comprehension since I wasn't insinuating with a single syllable that there was only one issue why lost the game (actually quite to the contrary I pointed out one point that wasn't a reason), but you do you.

  5. Fuck everything.

It's not just PK and a defense that cannot get off the field. We have what, 2 turnovers in 4 games this season? We gave Tech 3 first downs due to stupid mental errors including a first and goal after the offside.

But it would have been kinda nice to call anything but inside zone on first downs in the second half, when that play was yielding 1 yd on average (and resulted in the fumble in OT)... we were rolling in the first half with quick passes, didn't throw a single screen or swing pass in the second half I believe.

It is complementary football with a sucking defense and a sucking offense. Burn everything down....
