Vandy with 4 Senior OL having opted out... apparently will start a defensive lineman (as of two weeks ago) on the offensive line

Reminds me of the era when Wickline started a backup defensive lineman nicknamed “No Contact At All” at Left Tackle. For multiple games.

Wife and I are surprisingly enjoying season 3 so far. I was a bit skeptical about what would happen after the end of season 2 but the first episode this season was really thoughtful and intriguing. Can't wait to finish it.

I definitely felt the same way about the end of season 2. I wasn’t sure how they were going to tie it all together in the end, but season 3 delivered.

I’m sorry, but there are equally egregious propaganda platforms posing as news outlets for the left. Most of which have been caught flat out altering or editing footage and recordings, reporting partial statements to shape narratives or flat out making up their own shit. And people buy into them hook line and sinker.  They’re entitled to without fear of being publicly and socially ostracized and possibly have their careers out in jeopardy just because someone disagrees with them. Just like Gundy.

But it’s antithetical to Hubbard’s beliefs you say. So the F what?  Does Gundy treat him appropriately and with respect is the only thing that matters. A whole life of work can be flushed away because you don’t support x activist organization of today?  F that.

God, of course someone is saying “both sides” in defense of OAN. The existence of other bad stuff doesn’t excuse the bullshit OAN pulls. And when someone like Gundy endorses them as the “only people telling the truth” then it’s a pretty significant red-flag that he’s bought into their crazy. That’s even before you get into the subjects of BLM or police brutality that Chubba is clearly concerned about specifically.

I've never met TH but I was so ready to move on from the dumpster-fire that was Strong and he was seemingly the flavor-of-the-month, had direct UT ties and wanted to come here. I have to say my first "hmm moment" was his idiocy at the end of the bowl game win the first year over Mizzou. Not a good look for HC at a program like Texas.

First red flag i remember is when he was still at Houston and called into a local radio station to angrily refute an article about him recruiting Kyle Allen. It just seemed like he made it so unneccesarily personal.

It’s really not a dumb question on his part. When Veidt mentions that he’s writing a play, it’s actually in reference to the game warden and his escape attempt, not The Watchmaker’s Son. The show’s creator admitted this on the last episode of the podcast.

So it’s possible that’s the same Phillips that becomes the game warden.

How come no one knows what Veidt did at the end of the book/movie? Wasn’t that in Rorshach’s journal?

Rorschach sent his journal before traveling to Veidt’s lair with the others, so the it could only contain whatever he had figured out up to that point.

You used a different number of periods in your ellipsis every time. You’re either trolling or senile.

    edit: both. Definitely both.

If you don't want to read the graphic novel, just spend a few hours and watch the Zack Snyder movie.

Apparently a lot of the "true fans" of the graphic novel didn't like it, but I thought it was great and I think a lot of people in the thread here liked it as well.

I’ve heard this a lot, and it sounds like it has to do with the tone and message of the movie being different from the original comics. Alan Moore viewed the masked vigilantes he was drawing as fundamentally damaged people, but Snyder makes them a bit more heroic and glorifies some of the more brutal violence they inflict on people.

I really liked the opening credits sequence of the movie and thought the casting for Rorschach was fantastic.

Who is this "The Comedian" you speak of? Is that a character we've been introduced to? Is this who's keeping Veidt captive?

Laurie Blake’s father - one of the vigilantes that fought crime alongside Hooded Justice and Laurie’s mom. He is murdered in the beginning of the original comics/movie. Petey addresses his relationship to Laurie a bit in the car with Angela and Laurie.

I'm supposed to watch it because it's set in Tulsa and everyone is talking about it. I have literally never heard the word "Watchmen" before this. Apparently there's a movie from 2009? Should I watch it to get a general gist of what this universe is about?

Watchmen was a famous graphic novel in the 80’s that got made into a movie in 2009. The events of the book/movie are set in an alternate universe New York in the 80’s, while this show is a sequel set in present-day Oklahoma. It’s probably not a requirement, but it seems like a good idea to watch the movie or read the book first so you aren’t as confused by a number of things that the characters in the show accept as normal.

hmm...so Texas jumps nine spots from their 32nd preseason raking even though they only managed a 1.0 YPP margin over the 86th SP+ (preseason) ranked team?   Smacks of bias.

You don't think I'm a Texas fan or do you just dislike it when fans use the term "we" when referring to a team?

  12. It’s a bad attempt at trolling. He’s gonna be a moron and try to pick internet fights until he’s banned and can go back to Tigerdroppings or Texags and complain about how mean those people were to him.

...Although, from reading that one post he could just be suffering from actual mental illness. It seems a bit much for a troll.

I’m sorry, what? I have been told that Hudson Card is an outstanding QB recruit and that WR was not part of the plan. There’s a better QB on the fucking team right now?

I think his point was that having a second receiving option would more than make up for the dropoff from Card to the next QB.

Coming out of the spring, Malcolm Epps seemed to have the hot hand, but haven't seen his name mentioned as much.  Is he injured or still a work in progress?

He’s a slower Collin Johnson. It looks like he has reliable hands and can high point a ball, but who do you take snaps away from to get him on the field? Maybe on 3rd down situations?

Williams and Richardson will be good safeties for them. Better than Tucker and SloNeal, but holy shit that CB depth chart is hilariously shitty.

They got a juco CB that they were hyping, but he’s nowhere to be seen on that 2-deep. Wonder what the story is there.

  16. Sweat has pretty rapidly put on weight since graduating from HS and he’s been singled out for needing to work on his stamina, so i doubt he’ll be stealing too many snaps away from Coburn in the near future. Have a hard time seeing him as anything other than a 4 game + redshirt guy unless shit goes sideways.
