26 years of championship blue balls will do that to you. I think a lot of people annoyed at what could have been last night had we beat Washington really are underselling just how good Michigan's defense is. I think they would've made Quinn just as if not more uncomfortable than Penix was. And Quinn is a lot less elusive than Penix. And yeah, we should've run the ball more but 2 turnovers not happening would've helped.

Statistically, Quinn was actually pretty damn good under pressure (as far as passing goes). He does fold pretty quick if he really feels it.

I ended up watching the English over the last three days.  It certainly drew me in.  I was really wondering about what happened to her son, but I for sure didn't have that on my bingo card

I fully enjoyed it. They could have done 8 episodes and given us a bit more shenanigans  - upping the overall stakes of it all - but I thought it was very well acted, and enjoyed it. And the cinematography was top notch.

Man idk if this is just my copy but holy fucking lag sometimes

I had to close the game in the Gaia bunker and lost half my progress but the lag was out of control.

Loving the game though. So beautiful

On what system? I've had no issues on a PS5. I can play on resolution or performance just fine, but I have to admit performance is a bit smoother. I just wish I could watch cutscenes in resolution mode.

I find it a lot harder than zero dawn.

I guess I'm back, I see my ignore list needs to be updated (f the haters), we had a great time in BVI over thanksgiving.  long story, lots of pics and videos. had to kick a machismo captain to the curb but our mutiny on the 45 foot cat was ultimately successful, we took it as our own and sailed the nursery school waters of the BVIs like we owned the place.  got up to 9 knots at 35-40 degrees into the wind (apparent wind was 18-22 knots) sailing a school bus of a yacht. even got the girl to show some leg, though she wouldn't fully lift her skirt.  manuvered around in that twin diesel under power like I'd been there before, super, super easy.  I'm actually excited to see what this means going forward...

just finished key west too on my client's hatty.  another great trip the guy has the right idea.  we dove on our own off his boat as well. had a great time, the marina life is absolutely how we want to do this. key west food scene was surprisingly good.  the music scene was surprisingly bad. We are infinitely spoiled here in Austin with food and music.  we found there wasn't much to do after water sports - we did some fly fishing, diving, sunset cruising, off shore fishing, marina people/boat watching.  maybe it's just where we are in life.  that said, there is so much to do around the water, we really, really enjoyed it.  definitely going back. looks like the boat will be in Islamorada though which is fine by me.  looks like I'm getting roped into a fishing tourney too this summer on the boat.  no complaints.

ended the trip in Miami seeing friends, definitely over that scene though a day or two in south beach low-key is hard to complain about.

looks like we will do the BVIs with another couple and our kids as soon as school is out. diving, this time anegada and even some fishing. pretty cool scene in the BVIs actually. still recovering. Oil nut bay and bitter end coming online while we were there and shortly after.  looking forward to more development prior to our return.  soggy dollar was overrated btw. loved soper's hole and saba rock.  for a variety of reasons we missed the north side of tortola, mostly related to how the mutiny played out.

speaking of how easy that twin diesel was at sub 8 knots and maneuvering in tight spots, thinking about a trawler for the san juans soon too, but soon probably means 2023 as we have our trip to Tahiti planned for march, been postponed twice now for covid. looks like some amalfi coast action too in september, scouting out our retirement anchorage spots on a small ship cruise.

met some really cool cruisers at the marinas over xmas and new years.  inspired. not sure what direction we will go, but need that saltwater cruiser in 2-3 years I know that.  still enamored with the new oysters (I hear you g650), but I've been eyeing the moody ds 54 the last few weeks.  looks like a great florida, ICW, gulf, bahamas cruiser actually. new are 2 years out, none used that I can tell. will need an interim boat first if we pull the trigger, maybe a used hanse 40-45.  who knows.  cats seem too much for US waters, ideal for anchoring in the Caribbean. not sure we need that much space though. my gf probably won't do too many overnights so coastal cruising is likely our limit, though I guarantee you I'll convince one of my sons to blue water cruise with me.

I love the instrument layout on the helm stations, and there is a nav station in the saloon that would allow monitoring and auto pilot adjustment from inside.  for comfort this seems rad.  but it's fully automatic, can't tell if there is any manual override, all lines are basically hidden to a point where you really don't see them at all, and it has a self-tacking jib system.  I do think a lot of the fun of sailing may be taken out of it by this set up.

that said, they nail the deck saloon concept.  the bulwark is a really nice feature, as is same level living when we start talking about sailing with our puppy. He's 2 and will be 4-5 when we acquire such a boat so it's something to pay attention to.  funny reading on the forums how much salty dogs hate the sliders.  it's a monohull cat, by design. that's what's awesome about it.  when I do the ARC across the atlantic, I doubt it will be in one of these though.  boats are inherently compromises.  I can see why this has a lot of appeal for a life in the Caribbean or Med cruising around from wine and dinner spot to another wine and dinner spot, with virtually none on the used market right now.

I want to see the Hatt!

I’m sure they’ll find a way to get Collins on the edge more with the Jacoby Jones injury but he’s likely only a 20-30 snaps a game guy right now. Bush is probably going to be getting 20-30 snaps well and that’s not changing anytime soon.

    PK probably has two options:

    1) Abandon playing the safeties deep and start dialing them up more in run support, which opens up our already shaky deep pass defense. This is not ideal against guys like Spencer Sandwrs who can throw the ball a mile but might work against teams with weaker QB play like WVU/Baylor. *Another huge issue is our two safeties are not a great fit for what PK ask them to do. Foster is not someone who should be playing 30 yards back covering centerfield.*

    2) Get bigger on the edge. Bump out Collins and/or Ojomo and give up some pass rush for the hope of slowing down the running game at the point of the attack.

I have a feeling PK is going to go with option 2 and continue to *try* to take away the explosive pass plays.

I think Jeff Howe said it, but swap cook and foster, and let foster help more in the run.

This is our 2nd bareboat charter. I would do sailboat every trip if I could but it can be a bit pricey. We eventually plan to live on a boat. This trip taught me I need a lot more practice on a Catamaran. Not sure if it was the boat or what but I thought it was challenging. When we chartered the Mono in ‘17 I essentially handled that with no issues the whole 10 day trip. We sailed the entire time absent 1 day we had to motor due to no wind.

The water maker we had on this boat was a game-changer. It will be hard to charter a boat without ones. I think most boats out of STT have them, not so much out of the BVIs.

Growing up we always did sailing vacations with the fam - but never had a water maker! In the beginning we didn't even have generators or AC. They are amazing vacations, and I think especially amazing for kids. My oldest has gone to the BVI, but my two youngest still haven't had the chance, although they have enjoyed a lot of center console boating in the keys.

Living in a boat takes a certain type. My parents intended to do the great loop this year on their '79 Hatteras 58ft Yachtfish, but soon realized that most of the loopers are boaters, and not yachtsmen. My dad is the type that keeps the boat pristine. Nothing out on deck - tied up a very particular way, stickler for the rules, etc. He has his 200 ton license. He considers himself at yachtsmen. Snobby? Probably... but still.  So, they abandoned that idea to just stick with the ICW. They are currently in Maine and will soon work back down to go to the bahamas, and then to Marathan for a few months. I posted it before I think, but here's "Gus" docked in Manchester by the Sea (not a traditional name to be sure). She was there while we fished out of Gloucester for tuna.

Driving to the marina to turn in the boat emoji22.png. We sailed a 42’ Fountaine Pajot Austrea catamaran for the last week or so, 4 bedroom 4 baths. We stayed on mooring balls just off some of the prettiest beaches in St John for 9 nights and we spent 1 night on a ball off Great St James that is just off St. Thomas. We originally planned to sail British waters too but stayed in US waters due to Covid. We spent 3 nights at Maho, 2 nights at Trunk, 2 nights at Salt Pond, 1 night at Little Lamshur, 1 night at Honeymoon (STJ), and 1 night at Christmas cove. We’ve been coming to STJ for 20 years and it was great to see it from a different viewpoint.

So, are you going to stick with the sailboat in the future, or go back to hotels and whatnot?

I've read the bill a couple times now, and I think there is enough grey to make licensing deals. I don't think its written particularly well. Regardless, I bet Rubio's bill is law before you know it.

Pretty wild game that either team could have won in both regular and stoppage time.  Vlatko made some tough decisions in benching Morgan, Rapinoe, Press and Lavelle but they were justified by the result.  Naeher let in a soft goal for the Dutch second and more than made up for it with her performance on PKs.  Her save on Miedema in particular was world class.

Aside from Sweden, the Dutch were probably the toughest matchup for the US in the tournament and we should be more comfortable against Canada.

A win against Canada and the USWNT will be in its 6 final in the last 7 major tournaments (08, 12, 20 Olympics and 11, 15 and 19 WC).  Japan is second with 3 appearances.

    Holy shyt Megan drllled it

I've been very critical of Rapinoe lately, but she didn't have a bad game. She did ball hog a bit toward the end of regulation when a pass could have potentially ended it (Jamie Tartt much?). Whatever - she was nails at the end and that's what counts.

  11. I have some questions:

    1. How does this play with school licensed apparel? Can an athlete go to a licensed vendor, and get a piece of a jersey sale with his name on it that also bears the Texas logo?

    2. Will jersey sales that bear the athlete's number automatically entitle them to compensation while they are in school?

    3. What about NFTs? Can an athlete sell a picture of himself in a school jersey without the school taking their cut?

    Lots to navigate here.

my God South Florida/Keys is boat porn heaven, and I was down there with my buddy who is looking to upgrade his big Contender CC.

An interesting one though - here's me driving the actual African Queen (in Key Largo) that was featured in the movie. Same tiller Bogart steered.  Boat was launched in 1912.

    african queen sanitized.jpg

My parents just sold their house in that neighborhood (port largo). It will be greatly missed.  Sometimes the african queen uses actual steam power rather than that hidden outboard in the back.

That neighborhood has some interesting history - it was a HUGE drug port. The houses you see on the right used to be a runway. They used to also run flotillas out of there to try to go overthrow castro.

Fucking good shark bait though.  As good as it gets next to a squid or stingray.

Hard pass on AJ's too. They are fun to fight though. We used to catch them on the islamorada hump only to have 90% of them destroyed by sharks on the way up.

There are too many great fish around for amberjack to be my pick.

Yup, shouldn't affect owners of the old boats like us much... but I'm interested to see what they do with the brand going forward. The owner is a good business man - I just hope he doesn't cheapen the brand.

My 11.5 year old is still going strong on fortnite, but I dont let him play COD.

We got there Sunday night so we missed seeing you. One more Miami special was listening to the drunk captains yelling at each other on 16 as they went home after sunset.

Next night there was a collision between two boats 3/4 of a mile up wind of us. There were 2 helos and 8-10 boats (coast guard, fl fire and rescue, police) searching the area.

The captains are not only the captains of their vessels, they are the kings of the waterway. Everyone knows best, and no one knows anything. For anyone that ever boats in south florida - be on the DEFENSIVE, or you WILL get hit.
