I've asked this question, I'm sure others have, and I'm sure it will get louder as we get closer, but...

How can we rationalize protecting the predominately white fans in the stand with social distancing while allowing the predominately black players be as close as humanly possible day after day just to entertain the predominately white fans?

In the NFL, the union will likely agree to take the risk so the players can go to work and get paid.  In college....

    Is this real?

  2. Kansas notwithstanding we manage to go on and slap Utah around the Alamodome.  I'm not excusing or pumping...it's more of a WTF thing for me....

After stomping on highly ranked opponents 2 years running in bowl games you have to wonder what we're capable of under Herman if we ever get into the playoff.

  3. I booked hotel reservations over Memorial Day for the July 4 weekend in Jackson Hole.  Being able to score something this late in JH is pretty remarkable.  Granted, lots of things may not be open and I don't expect July 4 parade or fireworks but if that translates into smaller crowd size in Grand Teton it will be a win-win for me.

    How about this.....

There are 100 m&ms in the bowl. Two of them are poison and might make you sick (might not) and could even kill you. Would you eat one M&M from the bowl if it meant living a normal life and going back to what you enjoy most?

I think this is the more legitimate question.

  5. Therapeutics will lead the way.  Once a treatment is in place, and accessible (Oct/Nov?), that vastly reduces the risk of hospitalization and bad outcomes we resume our lives.  We'll get the plexiglass dividers installed at DKR just in time to realize they aren't needed.

The capitulation I read here and elsewhere is troubling.

  6. Beantown, I'd call the exec platinum line and speak with a rep.  I assume you can get through more easily than the poors.  I'd expect you won't be successful but you could then ask who you should speak to to escalate your request.  I've had success with this strategy in the past (not with AA but just in general).  Keep asking to speak to the next level of authority up from the person who couldn't help you.  I never get mad, I just keep escalating.  Maybe at a minimum you can at least get a more general voucher, not in your wife's name.

  7. JFC. Do you not think a few players will opt out of playing during a pandemic? Maybe a few don’t want to go 4 months without seeing their families just so Newy can get his football fix on Saturday. If a guy is third string at San Jose State maybe he doesn’t want to take the chance. Does he lose his scholarship?

    That would be their choice...

  8. Just received an email from UT Chancellor, others probably have it as well, stating that students will be back on campus in the Fall.

"...My conclusion is that it’s not a question of whether we open for students, but how.  We hope to give students the in-person learning experience we all value, but we will do so in a way that protects the health and safety of students, faculty, staff, patients and visitors.  So while I’m pretty certain campus life won’t be exactly like last fall, it won’t be like this spring, either..."

  9. Some people are getting out there (the IDGAFs).  The more they do and they discover they can resume something resembling normal without dropping dead the numbers going back to living life will only increase.  Enter a therapeutic in Sept along with a vaccine far enough along in trails to be deployed should there be localized outbreaks and we have our way out of this.
