How’s everyone feel about Guehi? With the aerial dominance we’ve had during the Klopp years it’s been nice always having two big dudes at CB. I worry about him only being 6’. No idea what the stats show though.

He’s really incredible on the ball and a great one-on-one defender/duelist. Likely weaker in the air than Konaté, but 100% worth the price tag and would provide insulation for us if Konaté doesn’t plan to sign an extension. Also gives us a super intriguing opportunity to run 3 at the back in certain instances with Frimpong and/or Kerkez pushed higher up!

  2. I thought this movie was quite bad outside of the two SPECTACULAR set pieces (submarine + airplane sequences). Every bit of dialogue is just so serious and overdramatized that there’s just not a lot of fun to be had in the character interactions like there used to be. The best part of the MI formula (outside of the insane stunt work) is Ethan’s chemistry and banter with his team as they try to execute their various schemes. This one is entirely lacking in that respect. The first hour is an absolute slog of convoluted plot-dump, too.

  3. The Wirtz family is at the match today (allegedly). Hopefully the atmosphere is fantastic. Fabrizio mentioned we’re also in active negotiations over Kerkez with Bournemouth. Getting 3 transfers wrapped up before the window even officially opens would be unreal.

Tsimikas and Quansah got cooked a lot today. Bradley was okay but had some shaky moments. Nunez, again no idea what he's doing out there and I don't think he has a clue either.

But again, who cares if we lose these matches. This is Arne seeing what he's got and deciding what to move on from.

He’s almost taking the piss with FSG to show why he didn’t rotate this year ha

More annoyed with Salah’s long stretch of stinkers now because he was a shoe-in to break the record and he’s totally gagged it away. BDO odds have him 5th at this point. 1 NPG + 1 assist in his last 12 matches!

Honestly thought Chiesa had some decent movement through the middle today, but mostly a non-factor. Elliott’s lack of physicality was very much exposed and can see why Slot considers him a part-timer. Wonder what the club would realistically take in a sale for him if Slot doesn’t favor him.

  5. 5-year contract for Frimpong announcement seems imminent now per Twitter reports. Love his versatility as a fullback/winger/wingback. Could legitimately offer rotation for Salah when he sits if needed. I think we’ll be surprised at Slot’s tactical changes going into 2025-26 once he gets more personnel in the door that fit his preferred style.

  6. MLS been on the floor more than on his feet today.

I really have no idea what FSG are gonna do about the striker position this summer. I just don’t think they’ll splash the cash for Isak unless Saudi come knocking for Darwin and Jota and hand us a get-out-of-jail free card. I think Darwin is 100% gone, but I’m curious if they keep Jota for “depth”. His finishing went to hell this year and his injury record is just really poor. Even if you sold both, you’d still need to shell out another $50+ million for Isak in all likelihood.

  7. I really would be interested to see Salah in a more central playmaker role next season on occasion. He’s not Messi-caliber, but he’s the best we’ve got and I wonder if it would suit him the way it suited Messi as he lost his pace with age.

Slink into the shadows? Fuck off. James Pearce and Tony Evans are pretty scouse and neither of them seem to think he’s a rat or whatever.
Everyone should be applauding him and what’s he’s done for the club.

Have you ever read the Twitter replies to James Pearce? There is nary an LFC fan that gives a shit about what he thinks. Listen to Carragher: “I’m sick of people telling Liverpool fans how they should feel.” The city and its people has a connection with this club like no other in England. This is a betrayal to many.

The club got trophies for him

That’s not the perspective of a scouser who watched their [scouser] vice captain slink into the shadows for 8 months while the team was on a title push. They thought Trent was the next Gerrard.

Well, he's from there but that doesn't mean he has to play his entire career there. Boo FSG for even letting it get to this point 2 years ago. That guy helped bring you 3 titles.

He knew he was leaving 2 years ago when Jude tapped him up and he let his contract run down so he & his brother could pocket the transfer fee for themselves a la Mbappe. People don’t care that he’s leaving as much as they care that he’s a $50-100M talent leaving for FREE. Meanwhile players like Grealish, Macca, Rice, Coutinho, etc. all signed extensions knowing full well they might be leaving so the club could get something.

  11. NFL front offices validating those of us who thought Sark should have pulled the cord on Quinn after the Georgia debacle…I don’t think he ever really elevated the talent here, although he’s a great personal representation of the program. Will always wonder “what-if” with Arch getting snaps during a soft stretch of the schedule leading into the CFP.
