I'm arching for Manning

Wow BOMC is real after all

Probably not a good idea to fire a coach who has made 3 CWS in the last four years. But we absolutely have to launch the pitching coach into the sun the minute the season ends, this is dogshit

more of a statement on the coping after a win tbh. Not good form, you gotta wait until he genuinely stumbles and then dunk on him

this is getting kind of sad

Even for 247 Sports, this article is quite something.
Speech to text gone awry?
Ghostwritten by Mrs. Malaprop?
We may never know ... but this, we do. Allen Trieu's article brings it.
And by it, we mean the lulz.
Please do not take "incident off fence" to it. Or dip in for two of anything.
The impact: Texas lands five-star Ryan Wingo after many twists
Allen Trieu (Horns 247)
I can understand what is the guy wrote perfectly. Don't know what y'all is problem it is

That was honestly the worst half of Texas football since strong led horns vs Arkansas
No it wasn't. That is simply not true.

Times like this I miss Jason Higdon and his after cycle break down. I REALLY want to know what LSU lied to Simmons about. Surely it wasn't just money?
(joking about the Higdon thing, please be gentle)I seem to remember some reporters doing this after, was there anything like this for the recent class?

While yes, his previous record is not inspiring and in a vacuum Billy Donovan is a better candidate, I still think Terry can maximize his resources and advantages at Texas and be really successful here.

This is a team of hoopers. Pure hoopers

when are people going to stop posting this shit? mack brown brought us ricky's heisman season, Colt, VY, back to back Rose Bowl wins, a fiesta bowl win, two conference titles, and a national title (should have been two NC's) and nobody ever says, "guys stop talking about Mack!". he's our former coach, we have strong feelings about him, we're going to keep following him and talking about him.
shaka was a terrible coach at Texas. only KU recruited better than we did during shaka's time here and went 51-56 in big xii play during his six seasons here with a bunch of dudes who are now playing in the nba. and that's just his results.
he made zero attempts to connect with the fans, the student body, or the city. he was a self-guarded weirdo who seemingly only spoke in hollow, cliched platitudes and who was essentially never honest or straightforward with anything he said publicly. he drove players off in bunches and had beefs with players from every recruiting class he ever signed. he had dylan osetkowski and will baker shooting threes like they were jj redick. he constantly lost in the postseason as a favored seed. and on his way out, after getting waaaaaay more slack than he ever deserved here, and after leaving the program worse than he found it, he ran his mouth about how nice it was to be at a school (marquette) that actually cared about basketball, and where the fans would actually show up. fuck that dude. seriously, if you love Texas then you do not like shaka smart. fuck that idiot and everything he did to this program.
im not reading all that, but nothing Shaka did at Texas will ever be as embarrassing as what Chris Beard did

Again it's very lame to keep this thread going after what happened to the last guy Texas hired. I suggest we all point and laugh at this guy instead

I think about recruiting needs in terms of building position groups over time that are elite and capable of winning it all. I haven't seen the latest projected 2024 roster, but if I were to just wing it and guess which positions have playoff quality talent:
QB - Yes (Manning)
RB - Yes (Baxter)
WR - Potentially (Brennan, Cook, etc)
OL - Yes (Banks, etc)
TE - No because Sanders will be gone; maybe if Duce signs
DE/eDGE/Whatever the fuck - No; need to see young guys play but I'm skeptical
IDL - Probably not, hard to tell until we see young guys play
CB - Maybe (Muhammed, ?)
S - Maybe (Williams, ?)
LB - Maybe (Hill, young guys TBD)
Despite the #'s on the roster at each position, if they want national championship quality I would think DE/eDGE/WTF, IDL, S and TE are important position group gaps.
Savion Red is going to be a dude. He's got playoff quality dawg in him
