This is a beautiful day. Spent the morning with friends watching the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Will take a break to join Longhorns at the Capitol to protest.
Every day we are alive is a blessing.

I’ll be there in Houston. First protest of my life, AFAIK. PM me if you’re going, first beer afterwards is on me, assuming we’re not on a plane to El Salvador.
Same here, if you're a Surl and will be in Austin for it I gotcha beer fam.
Friend who is a recovering Republican like myself is concerned about danger at the protest. I've been to only one protest before. We had street tacos, free water in bottles, some music and dancing. Yeah, it really gets your hackles up.

Brother I've spent the better part of multiple Saturday mornings in the Walmart on the Seawall in Galveston. I have seen some shit.
Wow someone has noticed that too. I have spent many years traveling around the South with race teams (that turn right and left) and we have spent a lot of time at a ton of Walmarts from Louisiana to Florida grabbing various supplies that didn't fit in the trailer at the time.
Nothing compares to that Galveston one. Holy shit.

Hell yes I will. Funny enough my grandfather and his crew bailed out in the Balkans after their run. They didn't think their plane would make it over the last mountains due to running on severely compromised props. Such a wild time I am always amazed.

Thank you for sharing Inka. I don't know how I missed this until now.
Both my grandfathers were in the Army Air Corp. On my mother's side, he graduated Salutatorian and hitchhiked to San Antonio for pilot training right after. He flew the Hump.
My father's father was a navigator and got shot down on his 11th mission, which happened to be over Ploesti. He was captured by partisans on horseback. He was a POW for 9 months and has a video documentary in Nawlins. He said the locals lined them up against the wall and they expected to be executed but German officers came in and stopped it. Towards the end the Germans just opened their doors and they all walked west to meet Patton. The Germans certainly did not want to walk east.

I bought the first 60'' HD Sony flatscreen for $5k from Circuit City in order to watch the the 05' Rose Bowl. Then ended up going instead.
I had that TV until a couple years ago. It was still working just a little dark. Love Sony.

pretty sure a poster here had a sister who bought a cybertruck. I’ve seen a woman in my area in Houston driving one too.
My sister did. Has a lot of buyer's remorse.
Got vandalized several weeks back as someone spray-painted "Nazi Fuck" on it. Pics of it made the rounds on Reddit.
They caught the guy as they were able to combine parking garage security camera footage with a rando's phone video. Some 50 year old father of two. I don't like them either, but what were you thinking dude?

Ok, see…that’s one of the billion reasons I hate AI. The correct answer is “they couldn’t, because Neanderthals lived exclusively in the old world, and turkeys are from the new world/western hemisphere.” It can’t think more than one layer deep. -

The rise in autism really isn't a "rise." It's just a more accurate representation of how many people are classified as such given increased detection and a broader definition of the spectrum.
It would be like blaming the 300% increase in breast cancer cases to some environmental factor when it's not due to that at all. It's due to better early screening methods and routine mammograms that just weren't a thing a generation ago.
This is exactly my current mindset on the "rise", which is almost certainly the case. I am just endeavoring not to be completely dismissive. Trust me, I am extremely skeptical of our current national mindset of pseudoscience and lack of critical thinking.

Does doctoring not involve reading, understanding, and interpreting medical opinions and studies, and being able to discern a good study from a poor one from propaganda?
You would think so. Fox has done a lot of damage over the years. It's on incessantly.

My father is in the bargaining stage. He was planning to retire any year now but now I don't know. Considering he is a doctor my main alarm was he gave RFK Jr. and his autism claims too much oxygen. Not vaccinations necessarily but some external force causing a rise in non-functional autistics recently. I imagine I have the opinion of most on here but I would like to find some robust and durable research either debunking or confirming his fears. He cited two California studies but I have not been able to find anything credible.
We were also binging 'The Last of Us' and I was surprised he was annoyed at the mention of Global Warming. Dude, this hasn't been debatable for a long time now.
I kept my mouth shut and enjoyed our family time. He has contributed far more positive to society than not.

The black bottom and red top is also the Ukrainian flag of distress. Equivalent to the Stars and Stripes upside down here.
