Other than geology, what’s the biggest obstacle to get the Powder over the top?
Service and horse power availability. -

Don’t know who a buyer would be. They don’t have meaningful accretive production or inventory. Maybe a take private candidate?

Are you fishing with a guide? Why not just fish his gear? No need to buy a bunch of shit IMO.
Self confessed gear whore.

No reason at all. That's a great setup for fresh or salt.
ETA: I'd maybe think about putting on a trout/cold water specific fly line. My saltwater 6wt lines are too tip heavy to float all the way to the leader. I'd put fresh trout leaders on them (probably something like a 5x, but ask your guide if you have a way to get in touch with him/her). Your guide should provide tippet and flies. They will have pretty specific tippet/fly rigs to cover the water column, and they've probably have several pre-rigged.
Good thoughts here. Thanks! -
You should be good with any decent 5 wt setup IMO. I haven't had to make too many long casts while fishing from a drift boat, just a lot of roll casting and flipping from one bank over to the other when fishing water like the Green.
TFO is hard to beat for someone still pretty new to fly fishing.
Thanks for the input. Question on gear… I have mostly saltwater based fly gear - my 5 wt setup is a hatch 5 and TFO axiom II (sw rod). Any reason that wouldn’t work?
We need to catch up sometime soon, it’s been a few years since you were in my office in Midland.- 1

Advice needed.
I'm heading to fish the Green outside of Flaming Gorge from a drift boat in a few weeks. Any recommendations for a fly rod/reel/line set up? I've never fished from a drift boat before, and am a relative newcomer to fly fishing in general.
Thanks in advance.

Who bought your Bakken assets?
Greyson Mills. EnCap backed operator that is consolidating acreage up there. If you have royalty interests under them, it’s probably a good thing for you. -

Pretty much my exact feelings. I’ve got a guy trying to buy something from me and his bids are changing by the hour. I’ve stopped engaging him and am just rolling my eyes. The drop in crude is ridiculous and will be totally erased by Memorial Day. We’ll be $100 by the summer.
Gas is fucked for a while.
In industry as well. Don’t know how long you’ve been in the business, but I am extremely skeptical of your last sentence, first paragraph. I’m curious where you think the broader economy shores up oil markets when we’re seeing significant, repetitive draws on inventory over the last 5 weeks and we’ve seen oil consistently tick down. Frankly, I’d think that an overheated economy would provide support for oil markets and what we’re seeing real time is that although inflation still seems to be an issue (given the Fed’s rate increase) oil prices are down considerably. IMHO, this is so freaking counter intuitive, as cost of real goods/inputs/in-elastic products should trade in lock step with inflation as opposed to being negatively correlated, which is what we’re seeing with oil vs inflation right now. The fundamentals have no impact on the trade at this point… until they do.

TCU will not be the flag bearer of the Big 12. That is laughable. They won the Big 12--congrats. Let's not pretend they will do this regularly when they have never done this regularly.
Did they?- 1

Why by month end? What is the trigger?
I have hedges I want to unwind, and this information suggests doing it now or early next week. All fundamentals indicate prices should be WAY higher.
RBL redetermination/compliance. There's some leeway, but don't want to get stuck offsides.

From everything I hear (not on CNBC) this isn’t a demand issue. It’s a paper issue, and that as we approach mid September contract expiry, we are gonna shoot back up.
Care to expound? I have a bit of hedging to do prior to month end and I'm of the opinion that we're beyond oversold right now.

Is this like yours? Twin 250s on this, listed at about $200k.
Had to pick up my not so sexy CC from the service dept today.
That looks like the 28’ X3 to me, which is legit a bay/offshore boat.

Picked up the new X3 on Friday. I was pretty excited to get the boat on the water, but we got a good weather window Saturday am to run out for a quick snapper limit and took the Bertram. Fished cleaning fish around 2:00 and FINALLY got the new rig in the water around 3. Fished/ran the boat Saturday afternoon. I’m tremendously impressed with the build quality and fishability of the boat. We upgraded from a 2002 Majek 20V with a 135 Yamaha (light, and relatively quick out of the hole - TWSS), which is for sale.
The X3 went everywhere we would take the Majek and had no issues with hole shots in 12 inches. The boat is smooth as shit in chop and dry as a bone. The way the boat turns takes a bit to get used to. It’s hard to describe, but there’s no banking in the turn, the boat just pivots. With the 400R, the boat ran 50 mph at 5800 RPM with 1.8 mpg. At 30/3800 we were getting close to 3 mpg, which I thought was outstanding. Can’t wait to get back on it.

Probably not the worst thing when you’ve got ~100g in fuel, ice, Ttop, etc for a nearshore snapper trip, though. Or prop it to have a rocket out of the hole?
What he said. Mostly to get up in a bit skinnier water.

STR is run by good guys. I don't know how much they're going to be able to grow the business, but the div should be pretty safe.
There's a couple of the Brigham guys still hanging around over there.
