"That's what our women look like? Fuck this shit, I'm with them."

It’s probably more like the normal police/army have daughters and wives too. Also the cost of basic necessities has gotten so high that nobody can afford to live.  The only people who can are those directly profiting from the regime (i.e. IRGC leadership) and the true believers (basij).

Some people need to read this a few more times.

In the TED talk he stated he'd like to partner with existing shareholders if he can.  I'm not a securities lawyer, so no idea if that is possible under the Act.  But from an M&A perspective, he can.

He certainly believes he has the funds to pay it.  But he also thought he could take Tesla private too.  So who the fuck knows.

This is what I am pondering.  He has fuck everyone money, and don't know if he is just messing around or if he is really going to take it over.  I understand the rules of acquiring wealth, but he is so far beyond that his rules are his alone.

I am thinking he takes it over, re works the twitter rules and the stock goes to the moon.

Listening to the TED talk now.  He stated he gives 0 fucks about the economics.  He thinks opening it up will make society better.  I don't know if that's the truth or not, just what he said.

I don't think he actually buys Twitter. I've read it might be difficult anyways, despite his wealth, because it's tied up in Tesla stock and he'd have to sell which seems like a bad divestment and investment, respectfully. Also Twitter has poison pill options to potentially block a takeover, but the question remains if investors even want the board to block this due to the aforementioned fiduciary (positive) reasons for Elon buying them out and taking them private.

There is no business question that Twitter sucks as a business of making money and providing shareholder value to the ratio of its massive and outsized influence and power as a technology.

Nah, he will just borrow against the stock with his Tesla shares and Twitter shares as collateral.

Big issue will be that he has to make Twitter profitable so he can repay the debt.

  5. If Bowlsby was smart, he’d go after Pac 12 teams and offer them additional revenue share to defect.  Instead of being the conference that implodes, he could cause the PAC to die in a fire.  But he’s not smart.

Take UT/OU money and give it to USC/Oregon/AU/ASU to come.

  6. Texas/OU are moving because a new TV deal is going to be hot garbage for the Big 12.  There were rumors they asked ESPN/Fox for a new deal last summer, and they told them to fuck off.  The reports of a 75% loss in value are absolutely true.  Nobody gives a fuck about the Big12 unless Texas or OU is playing.

The fact that it ended up being the SEC is probably more OU than Texas.  I don't think Texas gives a shit (they could do either), but OU's lack of AAU status probably forced them to the SEC.  They had to be sure they had a landing spot, and not a repeat of prior realignment attempts.  Worst thing would be to focus on B1G then get shut down, and SEC say no because they don't want to be the second choice.  Both teams have negotiated with the SEC/B1G/Pac10 before.  They know what the offers would look like.

Timing was also chosen by the parties because there's no way for the Leg to interfere, especially since Abbott is governor.  The focus is on the voter bill, not on college football.

The leak by Aggie was probably expected.

We will be in the SEC in 2022.  Big12 is dead.  Texas and OU media rights are not around in 2025 for the new deal, and no big fish is going to want to save this sinking ship. They'll be lucky if any games are shown on Fox Sports SW after 2025.  And adding a bunch of shit teams is not going to improve the media deal. Any remaining Big12 teams will get shit timeslots on shit channels, and a huge reduction in payout.  No penalty money Texas or OU pay them will make up for it.  Those with any value will bail ASAP.  That's the end of the conference.

I don't second guess the past decisions because the landscape has changed so much.  This is the right time to make the move, and I like that we are being proactive as fuck.  Now we need to get our NIL shit together.

My guess is we end up with 4 power conferences of 16 teams when all is said and done.  Where it goes from there depends on what the media landscape looks like in 10 years.  I can see a NFL light scenario for Football in 10 years.  But that assumes that the current media trend continues.  Things have changed so much since 2010 and even 2000.  Hard to say.  But I do think the SEC is the best spot to be in to navigate those waters in the future.

so just for a recap to make sure I have everything so far:

Texas and OU look to be making the move to the sec

Everyone says OU is let looking to the future but that UT is heartless and evil even though they are both leaving in the exact same way

everything was done in secret thru a law firm for a few months at least, a deal could be very close

SEC leadership totally left Mizzou and aggy out of the discussion and agreed to work on the deal with UT effectively behind aggy and mizzous back because of their Col. Sanders, mint julep country gentleman’s hand shake which supposedly gave aggy power over UT and OU entering the league

*Sharp and the Aggie president new about it but had to keep their AD in the dark according to Finebaum.

Aggy finds out thru the board of regents meeting where the plans were revealed either thru necessity or by a leaker

Aggy didn’t take it well, news gets to The Chronicle and we have a report that causes Texags to crash.

Big Xii finds out and loses their shit since the remaining 8 are essentially fucked. Some of us feel bad for OSU and KSU, but not many.

aggy throws a huge apoplectic public tantrum where they insinuate they are going to look into to how to respond to such an outrage possibly by moving conferences, blocking in TX legislator or suing the SEC in gentleman's court for being naughty.

    Am I missing anything?

We also felt bad for ISU.

This is what I think. They hijacked it a few months into it somehow and took the ball and ran with it. I still would like to know who the original author was though. The one who created it before these assholes took it over. Some European company did an analysis of the posts and concluded the original ones were a different poster than what came after, which was almost assuredly these assholes.

It's probably some rando conspiracy theorist nut.  Or a Psy-Op from a foreign government.  If it's the latter, I hope whomever ran it got a promotion and medal.  Pretty brilliant campaign tbh.
