Sadly, no.  I mean, any rain is better than nothing, but this won't make even a tiny dent in the lakes.  It would have to be roughly 10x this amount, across an area about 10x wider, and over 10x as many days, to move the needle on the lakes.  Unfortunately, not really exaggerating there.

Or one good 19" rain bomb

  2. Possibly could overtake 2011. According to KXAN, we had 76 days over 100 by the end of August and the last 100 degree day was recorded September 29, with 14 days of 90 occurring in September.
If this tropical thing doesn't deliver, we will likely be at 71 days at the end of August with no end in sight.

Don’t you put that evil on me Ricky Bobby.
  3. Don't know about this week but lately it is 73 when I step outside in the morning in our corner of Austin.  It helps.

    With 98% humidity

I think I’d give my left nut for a cool crisp Fall morning at this point

  4. Damn. Fires move fast. Went through both Bastrop fires and fuck that.
Fiance was stuck last week in Hays. Hit +85 acres and all roads were closed.

We came way too close to losing our house last summer in the Lake Georgetown fire. I will never forget that feeling of being forced out of your house with a pretty good chance at losing it all. We prevailed, thankfully. All because some asshole rancher was irresponsibly welding in terribly dry conditions and lit up 500+ acres.

For some fucking reason I don’t understand, WilCo and Travis aren’t currently under a burn ban.
