    America has to do better...

I dont know that situation and it is sad regardless, however, context is EVERYTHING.  Michael Brown didnt have a weapon either and was justly shot and, as a result, look at what BLM did to Ferguson, Mo.  Is Ferguson better off now?  of course not.

That seems to be the case for every post he throws out. But his anger is fairly amusing.

If that makes you feel better, go ahead and convince yourself.

But, I'm not angry... not angry at all.  I EXPECT objection to common sense on a board mostly of liberals

I don't know. Maybe people should practice some empathy and let the young man get his feelings out and pursue healthy options so he can feel he's doing what's best in his heart. Like his head coach is doing. Maybe do that instead of shouting at him that he's a misguided pawn and maybe you'll validate his actions if he first agrees to your principles and preconceived notions.

yes, we need to coddle athlete MORE. THEY put themselves out there and expect people to tell them how wonderful they are, even if they are misguided.

    1. Are you saying blacks are not getting prosecuted with video evidence?

    2. Black cops neep to be prosecuted as well. The Black cop who killed that white lady in Minnesota was prosecuted and deserved it.

    3. ???

    1. yes, some are but not nearly at the rate of violent crimes committed.

    2. yep but not always (and I'm not saying they should be. when you have a fraction of a second to make a decision, a mistake can be lethal) but you dont see it on main stream media 24/7

All races kill there own because it usually happens over confritation of your surroundings. And I can assure you those blacks killing blacks are going to jail for murder. Everyone is upset because cops kill and get paid leave or fired to go work in another PD. You are part of the problem.

A lot of assumptions in that poor response.

    1. no. blacks killing blacks are not going to jail. that's a huge problem in places like chicago.

    2. yes. if bad cops are passed on (not unlike bad teachers are passed to other school districts), then that is a bad situation but that rarely happens. If cops are shown to be bad and passed on, then I challenge you to find more than a couple of examples.  Bad decisions are a different matter altogether and, unless you are racially motivated, you have to admit that black cops make bad decisions as well.

    3. If injecting sanity is part of the problem, then the mob has taken control

maybe, but after the players quit and his team collapsed and went 0-12 he'd be an out of work mentor and leader

That's not going to happen but... hypothetically, if players were to quit over outside influences they are unlikely to ultimately be successful anyway

The army has a good system (arguably the best in the world) but we also had to deal with incoming extremist (and most were not white) that would work their way through the system but, ultimately they were found out because they would eventually make a bad decision based on their beliefs.

This goes to what Tom said earlier this week:  you can't just love them and support them on Saturday and then write them off and disparage them Sunday-Friday - they deserve better.

You dont think "Tom" and all the other coaches arent pandering to the athletes? esp, black athletes?

He would be a better mentor and leader if he told them to grow up, grow a thick skin and dont be distracted from your ultimate goals.  Success is the best form of revenge.  We had to deal with this day in and day out in the military

I dont think so. It's an entitled athlete who wants people to tell him how wonderful he is for taking a politically correct stance.

Yeah, I don’t get why people are acting like he’s quitting for good. It’s a week after George Floyd was murdered and the whole country is protesting. Eagles is a 20 year old black man who’s justifiably angry with the system, and he’s trying to use his platform to do something even if he’s not expressing what he wants done clearly.

Over time, his family, the coaching staff, Longhorns in the NFL, etc. will talk to him about how he needs to use his platform, not step down from it and harm himself and his career.  I’ll be really surprised if he’s not playing this fall.

If that is the case, then he is misguided and poorly indoctrinated.  While people can be bad and make mistakes, the "system" is NOT bad.  I heard on a dallas radio station the other day that two black police officers killed an unarmed WHITE guy; why doesnt that make all the news on main street media 24/7?  because it doesnt fit the narrative

#BlackLivesMatter is really a movement about some black deaths matter. It is a grift.

A minority cop is much more likely to lose his live protecting another minority person from being killed by another minority person, than a minority is to lose their life due to an interaction with a bad cop.

When this occurs, #BlackLivesMatter is no where to be found. Minority business owners were called un American for wanting the right to open their businesses two weeks ago, now they are accused of being un American for not wanting those same businesses reduced to rubble.

agree... It sounds great and wonderfully politically correct to support BLM.  BLM has been taken over by terrorist, Marxist, and anarchist such as the black panthers.

  12. A lot of pandering to black athletes

How many black people were killed by police in 2019? around 10 out of millions of interactions?  and, of that 5 were killed by black police officers.

yeah, huge problem! smh.  Does that justify at least 6 deaths by protesters in just the past couple of weeks, including several police officers.

We bought an all latex foam mattress about 10 years ago online from Sleep EZ. A decade in, it really has been great. You mentioned not liking all foam, but this has been so much better than an inner spring mattress. It doesn't move or bounce around and we don't have any of that memory foam, so there's no squish to it. Just consistent, comfortable support throughout. We have a king, so we could have customized the two sides with different levels of firmness (still could if we wanted to swap some layers) but the default has been good for back or side sleeping. There's also been no breakdown or indentation of the mattress, so I honestly think we'll get at least another 10 years out of it. My wife is one to tear through and destroy consumer goods (clothes, sofas, tables, appliances, cars, etc.) so it really is impressive that this mattress is going strong after a decade in our house.

similar story: I bought a Denver mattress pillow top about 10 years.  It got warm when the A/C went out but overall, it's been a really good mattress and still looks and feels real good.  I will be moving into a new home soon and I'm willing to try out a couple of different brands.  The brands I like less, will end up in the guest rooms

I have to give some props on the Bamboo pillow.  Much better than I had anticipated.

I bought a buckwheat husk large pillow about 6months ago and absolutely love it.  Most foam pillows get too warm at night for me.  They also push back trying to get to their original shape and I would wake up with a sore neck.  The husk pillow doesnt collapse completely, doesnt push pack and doesnt get uncomfortably warm throughout the night.

I bought a small husk pillow around 1999 and loved it.  It did great during my tours in Iraq. Iraq is not a place where you need unnecessary heat during the night.  When I saw a regular (queen) size husk pillow online for $40, I bought it and will likely buy another.

Watch the other angles champ. Also, maybe go look at my posts on it. I think he’s gone and am fine with it. You don’t think anyone else has any culpability unless they are associated with Ku.

If "he is gone and [you're] fine with it" then quit being a moron trying to justify an idiot's actions.

I was simply responding to YOUR post implying something other than what is seen.  Additionally, I never said there wasnt culpability elsewhere but your idiot #22 IS NOT INNOCENT in the least.

Once again showing your ass. He was not the first one to throw a punch. He wasn’t the second to throw a punch. But you’d rather just look at a still frame shot and make your judgement.

He most certainly was the one who threw the first punch.  He was the one that started the incident with taunting;  then there was some pushing and shoving before he got pushed backwards . He then came back with a punch. Obviously, you are then ok with him then picking up a weapon.

What is wrong with you and other fanatic morons justifying that behavior!!

To say I am a novice at "Cord Cutting" would be charitable.

I am a relatively "olds" on here and not up to to speed on the super fast, Roku-Hulu-Hula Dance whatever techno stuff.

Currently on ATT Uverse and tired of paying a brazillion dollars.

We currently have a Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts.

We spend most of the time watching local news, Amazon Prime, Netflix, the ESPN family and the national news channels.

Thinking of going with YouTubeTV and keep Amazon Prime, Netflix with some type of interwebz provider. 3 TVs in the house. No kids.No grandkids.

Thoughts from the genius, experienced cord cutters is appreciated.

I'm an "olds" as well and when I cut the cord, I really and literally cut the coax cord.  12 yrs ago, I wanted to see if I could get enough entertainment to satisfy my needs and not pay any monthly charge.  I"ve been fairly successful in that regard.  Cutting the cord to me doesnt mean just trading one expensive option for a different less expensive option. I put an antenna in the attic and spliced it into the existing coaxial cables, the same coax cable that goes to each room.  Now, I have 55 FREE HD channels that satisfy 80-90% of my entertainment needs. Then all I needed were some one time purchases such as ROKU, Firebox, ChannelMaster DVR+, etc. and I'm set to stream anything else I want to watch, including internet radio.

At this point, basically everyone I know has dropped cable/dish, even my mom and my in-laws. As time goes by, this becomes an option for fewer and fewer people every day. Piggybacking on someone else's cable is a great deal if you can get it, but it's not really "cutting the cord".

I went back through this thread a few pages after I asked about LHN and saw a fair amount of talk about IPTV, which I wasn't previously familiar with. Spent a few minutes reading up on it on Reddit and it doesn't seem like an option for everyone. Just in the first few posts on Reddit, there's talk of using a VPN and paying with Bitcoin to protect your privacy, trojans in apps, and services mysteriously getting shut down out of nowhere. Not to mention it requires an Android box or rooted Fire TV, neither of which I currently have. If someone is pretty tech savvy, wants to watch a ton of sports and absolutely can't stand paying for it, and isn't turned off by seedier parts of the internet I could see using it, but it's obviously not for the masses.

For anyone else that's curious, "IPTV" as referred to in this thread basically means someone re-streaming their cable package over the internet and charging a few bucks for it. If you look hard enough, you'll find services that offer basically any sporting event on Earth for just a few bucks a month. Obviously, it ain't at all legal. Lots of them seem to be originate out of Russia or China, but there are also lots of middlemen involved.

    Here's a beginner's guide on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/IPTV/comments/5k40ae/iptv_for_complete_beginners/

There are some good IPTV services and, no, they arent all in Russia.  If you want to talk yourself out of it, then go ahead.  With that mentality, dont bother buying any android devices for additional content such as FIreTV and definitely dont add Kodi and that dreaded content through a third party.

VPN is a good idea regardless whether you use an IPTV service or not.  I use a VPN for my phone, tablet and laptops - it's just smart

not kidding, just pay someone you know who has dish or DTV and use their login for the ESPN app, then chromecast to your TV or use the ESPN app on your tv/box. easiest way to do it, it won't be in the same app as your typical TV stuff but you get the channel.

it's super weird to me it isn't a part of YTTV (TV Anywhere login) via WatchESPN (well just the ESPN app now)

yep, or just purchase an IPTV service for about $5-10 a month and watch what I want including LHN.  I loaded the IPTV onto my FIrebox and done

Unless you’re hosting a party, who cares about getting LHN for 1 game. Hit up a bar or friends house. Bring over wings and beers, and your friend is happy.

For me, it's not about one football game.  It's about all the other sports, esp baseball
