Where are you staying? Seems like there is a lot less inventory on rental houses now as compared to when I booked for April.
I rent a house every year that’s about two miles from the course.

2nd time. I won the lotto for the Tuesday practice round for 2018. One of the guys that went that year won the lotto for Monday practice round this year, so almost the same 4 guys as last time. One guy had a kid due masters week this year so he gave up his ticket to a guy that’s never been there before.
Nothing can compare to your first trip! I’m going with seven first timers this year! It will be interesting to see how the course looks in November.

Agreed. Especially since I’m going this year.
Have you been before?

Booked an Airbnb this morning. Why the hell not? Espn was talking about how there won’t be azaleas but the leaves will be changing and have a totally different look. Definitely not how I wanted to see the masters for the first time in person but at least I’ll hopefully be able to see I saw one of the most unique masters.
also, did anyone ever get their hard tickets for the original tournament or did they not ship?
Received badges in early March.

Please take the comments to CR if you feel the need to politicize.

Absolutely - Way too many things were perfect for it to be a lucky shot. That guy trained and took it seriously. Text book...including what I am certain was him shooting high knowing he had good guys seated / scrambling in between him and his target. No spray and pray there.
That's a hero.
Jack Wilson, President of On Target Firearms Academy took down the perp.

I applied for practice round tickets for the 1998 tournament, four of us went. Was then invited by the club to apply for a spot on the waiting list that was opening for the first time since 1978. I’ve had my badges since 2000.

are these the slowest Augusta greens in 40 years?
The fans under the greens were on all day.

Spent half a day on the course, came back to the house for an emergency nap, now watching and sipping on a little Woodford Reserve while the 2 1/2” filets rest up prior to hitting the grill tonight! Best week of the year! Shaping up to be one of the best tournaments ever!

So who else is here besides pom. Where are you drinking?
We’re drinking on the back deck before, while, and after our nightly steak dinner. I’ll have eight guys and myself on the course this week. Five are first timers.

See post #1.
Post #1 doesn’t say whether you’ve been to the tournament.

Not a subtle humblebrag.
Haha! Just curious, have you ever been to the tournament?

Light rain and no wind three miles from the course this morning.

Any more of you peeps gonna be there this year?

The tape that you’re replacing was likely coming off due to high humidity. Are you doing anything to address that?

Pretty much all North Texas soils move, Rowlett is one of the worst. If a neighborhood has mail boxes out by the curb that are encased in brick and the brick is leaning, keep moving.

Shifting gears, how difficult and expensive is it to get tickets and a place to stay?
Aiming to go for a day or two next year with some friends but have no idea.Mastershousing.com is a good place to start. Brokers are your best option for tickets, plan on something around 2k or more per day each. If you have any questions, I've been many times. I put eight people plus myself on the course this year, six were first timers.

It's a beautiful morning in Augusta! Let's go

Now that all the practice round poors are gone we can have a tournament. Let's go!

Pom's Masters adventure. Got to go to a practice round as a guest in 1997 then ten of us applied for 1998 practice round tickets. I was the only one selected and four of us got to go. Went again in 1999 for the actual tournament as a guest. Received a letter from the club advising that they we reopening the waiting list for the first time since 1978 and would i like to enter my name in another lottery for admission to the list, duhh.
A few months pass then I receive another letter announcing that I have been selected to be added to the waiting list and can anticipate having the opportunity to purchase Masters badges in the foreseeable future.
I've had my own tickets since the 2000 Masters.
All the letters are framed.
