The Embody stuff is awesome. Somewhere, right now, @TheContractor is confidently looking into a mirror, nodding affirmatively, and telling himself that, by golly, he's good enough.

In reality, Simmons was hyping the shit out of Texas in the early spring when it was obvious he was leaning LSU. Texas mods, the ones worth a shit, were clued in to that. Shit changed this summer. Looks like Simmons is doing the same thing in the other direction and Embody isn't grasping that.

glad you are still able to look into the mirror at yourself but for the love of whoever, please stop touching yourself

He’s the only guy that has some folks scratching their heads in this cycle. Texas is swinging for the fences across the board and then they’re on an OKG like Livingstone. He’s hopefully not jagger level.

My view of this weekend is that we’ll see something similar to last weekend.  A few commits that will go public on Sunday-Tuesday.

Both weekends have been set up in order to create an avalanche of momentum into the dead period. If the gamble pays off, I assume Texas will have 16-20 recruits by the end of July, and Texas will be trending towards a top 5 finish if Seven Loss Steve can stay home and Steve Sarkwinsagain shows up with 10+ wins.

You took one poster’s fantasy of a future regarding LSU and decided to educate the board with platitudes about LSU’s desires and behaviors to win. You haven’t been around here long, at least in this incarnation, so maybe it would help to read and lurk for a bit.

I say that because we all fucking know everything you wrote and you’re becoming a bandwidth drain while you also fail to pause and consider what other people are actually saying about the current state of affairs.

I’ll be a little more specific and if it doesn’t help you, it’s at least illustrative to others who aren’t imbeciles. $250-$750k in the bag game was annually competitive. LSU was rarely on the high side of that. Bama, Georgia, Clemson, OSU, and occasional interlopers like Auburn could usually play to the higher side. Then the 2022 cycle happened. ATM went 4-5x high side of that. Hence the aftermath from all parties and angles, much to this board’s entertainment. Meanwhile, NIL unfolded and people with plans started going to work. The landscape today for a roster when playing poker at the big boy table is trending towards 8 figures. The ATM shit from the 2022 cycle is now what gets programs into the arena for a normal top 10 recruiting and portal cycle.

Now if you think LSU is able to make that work, you do you. To everyone else, that isn’t what’s happening. What I said is happening is happening. They’re little better off than when the bag game was being played. So are others that I already mentioned. I asked a friend inside the inner circle at Bama if they could match $4-5M per cycle in recruiting against the market. They gave a long pause and then simply said “there’s no fucking way.” And then, time passes, and all Nick Saban does is beg and plead with authorities and the media about NIL. Tough luck, little man.

Of course getting guys into the NFL matters. Of course conferences matter. Of course brand and tradition matter. Of course coaching brand and history matters. That’s why Bama isn’t in the toilet. That’s also why Oregon isn’t in danger of signing a top 3 class. But things are shifting, bit by little bit, against Bama, LSU and Clemson, among others. I think Bama fractures this season the way FSU suddenly did in early 2000’s but for more complicated reasons with Bama.

Like I said, you can agree to disagree and make your points but you do it like a whiny bitch but that’s just seems to be who you are. Lsu paid $180k for Vadal Alexander a non top 150 but really good recruit. Yes before NIL but they will be one of the bigger players, especially on the state. Disagree , you can laugh like you said in a different post of yours with my pov but i too know insiders at Lsu and how the passion for lsu is in that state.
this will be my last reply to you on this bc you seem to not understand what im saying and vice versa.

Oh I understand slick.  As one of the founders of what is now the Texas One Fund, I can explain the "how" and exactly what we did to show we want this team to win and subsequently had every single fucking school in the country follow our model.

    Now you go.

its great what Texas has done and what Texas is doing. The comment isnt about Texas or any other school not named Lsu. The point was Lsu would decline like Nebraska and that imo simply wont happen for many of the reasons listed.

Keep up the good work, slick

You're willfully breezing past what he said and doing so spectacularly.  Why you're talking about Baseball in a football thread is also strange and seems like a limp dick attemp at distracting us from the point I was originally trying to make.  What he's saying is why I made my original comment.

LSU will simply not have the same resources/benefactors as the Michigan's, Texas's, Georgia's, Miami's, etc. of the world to be able to win the longer term arms race.  Also - nobody is going to remember who the fuck Livvy Dunne is in 5 years.

    Correct.

    A. bc those are 2 sports lsu care most about

    b. Lsu is willing to do what ever for those 2 sports even without you perceived resource deficits vs schools like UGA/miami. Texas might have more resources but we have not shown to do anything to succeed. Lsu has and will . you also dont seem to understand that and thats fun, close your eyes and mind to it.

    c. i never mentioned Livvy

I find your posts interesting, if sometimes clueless, so I won’t put you on ignore any time soon, I figure.

I’ve told you how it is regarding the landscape and LSU’s part in it for NIL. Your position against that is unintentionally comical, but I’ve done what I can.

you are clueless about how lsu and the state view sports and football/baseball. ive told you about how it is and it seems you obtuse mind just wont get it. oh well, sometimes you just do what you can and move on.

You’re incorrect regarding their wherewithal with NIL. I just posted about it. I can’t tell if you’re being willfully ignorant, have me on ignore, or if you just see a post that need to respond to and that causes you to skip all of the other posts as your eyes roll into the back of your head while you pound the keyboard.

They have access to the same kind of capital that they had during the bag game era. That isn’t close to being competitive overall on the NIL front, but it can be effective when concentrated on 1-3 high value targets. That’s it. And there isn’t a bunch of corporate help coming. They have Marucci in baseball, so they have an endless fountain of money for baseball, but that isn’t translating to anything else and probably won’t.

You are being willfully ignorant to my posts about their commitment to sports and Football and Baseball specifically. They will not get left behind because of $, they will get that from somewhere. You can disagree fine, but shut the f up with the other comments and/or put me on ignore.

I'm not buying the pressure to stay in state bit any more. Loyal to the soil? Bullshit. Loyal to the dollar and loyal to the place where you have the best chance of long term success after college, be that in the NFL or otherwise. Everything else being equal (conference affiliation, NIL, football development track, winning program), the opportunities and exposure at Texas dwarf that at LSU.

Then you dont know the state of Louisiana.

Im not saying you dont try to recruit the best bc there are a few that are gettable. If they care at all about education, did not spend their puberty years in the state, have ties to out of state programs, a few just want to get out of the state but by in large there is crazy "lsu, lsu" since they day they are born for everyone in that state. Even students of of other schools in that state (ULL, Tulane, ULM, etc) will cheer like crazy for Lsu.

Maybe this is wish-casting, but similarly to BlowU, I think LSU is in real danger of disappearing a-la Nebraska because of NIL.

*edit - Not overnight, but over a period of 5-10 years.

LSU football was asleep in the 80s and 90s. That state produces to much talent. That talent is brainwashed more than any other single state in america to stay home and play for LSU. LSU has no problem doing anything to compete with NIL or under the table. That program is not going anywhere. They have 3 straight different coaches that have won a title. They might have some up and downs but will not be down more than 1-2 years in the foreseeable future. As someone who spend their childhood in Baton Rouge and has a lot of friends still there, you are wishful that Lsu will become irrelevant. They will take the gambling $, make up a new state tax, rob a cancer hospital but they will not let anyone out bid for a football player in state.

You’re probably right but the significant difference now is NIL. You can’t look at everything that happened in Louisiana before NIL through the same lens as before.

LSU, as proven in recent past, will steal $ out of a child's mouth to pay for the football team. NIL or under the table is not an issue in Baton Rouge. LSU will beat any amount of $ thrown by any other program to get the player, dont doubt that for a second. We will have to match that $ and win the recruitment other ways(relationships, development, consistency, etc).

Thought it was processed, haven't heard anything about off the field. Either way writing was on the wall for a while.
Would love to get T Bussey as the ath in the class

  11. ‪Dude is soo similar to Bijan its scary. Size, glide, get small in the hole, make people miss, not top end speed, very good catching the ball, abiliy and willingness to block. Not sure what the rankings are thinking but who cares. GREAT pick up 🤘🏽

  12. I don’t see how we can take Lair and Hampton with the following still a real option:

    DB: Black, Bridges, Gipson, JJR

we likely/maybe lose: Catalon, Watts, Homes, Barron, Thompson, Crawford(sr but covid left).
maybe with 2 transfers out but still don’t see us taking 6 HS guys + portal.

    Hampton(wants to play WR)

WR: Hudson, Dubose, Livingston, Wingo, Bussey

we likely/maybe lose: Worthy, Neyor, Mitchell, Whittington

we will definitely take 1-2 portal guys so I find it hard to take 4 HS guys.

we shall see. I think with 10-2, 11-1, doors to many guys will open up in December they way our staff stays on top of guys.

Wingo and Bussey are both takes no matter what. 5 WRs may be the number when you look at Whittington, Worthy, Mitchell, and Neyor leaving after this season. Leaving a room of Cook, Nibblett, Moore, and Cain.

Portal 1-2.  you dont take more than 4 no matter what, but hopefully no more than 3.

Gerry has said multiple times, it will be hard to get top Margin Hooks guys in back to back years. Cook in 23 and Hudson in 24 are both Hooks guys. If thats the case then give me D. Moore in 2025 along with Ryan Williams.
