  1. Those hats are not the equivalent of what an upside down horns hat would be. New Era released a line of hats with upside down logos for every team. The guy in that video has a regular Rangers shirt on so even though he says he's in Houston I don't think its any kind of obsession. Most probably don't get it because normally the upside down logo thing is a sign of disrespect, but it's really not. Probably worn more by dudes who aren't fans of any particular team.

  2. Most likely nothing. I just noticed  the past few games and there's weird vibes there. Could be because Sochan sucks at running point and just seems pissy, could be nothing. More than anything, I was trying to move on from the foul or no foul debate.

It does seem like Wemby camps outside the 3 point line most of the time when Sochan is running point but I think that's more a function of his lack of experience at the position.

I'm more concerned about whether Sochan has beef with Wemby

The past 2 games I've been thinking there might be something going on too. They have weird body language together, Sochan seems dismissive of him and looks him off on offense too much. It's probably nothing, he could just be having trouble adjusting to his role this year. But it's something to watch

  4. Not a ton of competitive games today except Dominican Republic vs Philippines was pretty damn good. KAT had 26 and 10 for the Dom Republic and Jordan Clarkson had 28,7,7 and 2 steals for the Philippines before he fouled out and their offense stalled.

Canada looking really strong, Dillon Brooks played some damn good defense and France didn't have anyone that could slow down SGA. Germany didn't look great, Schroeder sucked but the Wagner bros and Daniel Theis played really well

Heard the Musers talking about the Spurs possibly trying to getting an additional mid-1st pick tonight to go along with Wemby. Any insight on who else we might like in this thing?

I've been reading for a few weeks that they want to move up and pair a PG with Wemby. Cason Wallace was mentioned as the most likely since he has the best chance of falling into lower end of the lottery compared to Anthony Black and the Thompson twins who were also mentioned.

Great writeup @Mitch Cumsteen  Wemby will be playing a win or go home game 3 on Thursday. I can’t find the game time.

Game 3 is at 1:30 today, should be available on the NBA app again.

I didn't see much of game 2 but watched most of game 1 and it seems like he had a pretty similar statline. He's going to be one of those guys that seems like he had a quiet game but then you go look and see he had 20 and 10 with at least a few blocks. He's a good passer but isn't a huge assist guy, although I expect he'll get a few more per game with the way NBA scorekeepers give assists compared to the Euroleagues. His team would probably be harder to beat if he was more assertive and took more shots, there's a few things that factor into this like being a teenager on a team of grown men not wanting to upset team chemistry, strength/conditioning limitations, and the way the game is played in Europe compared to the NBA.

  7. It does suck that we're probably losing out on the higher chances in the lottery but its more because the other teams in contention for the play in spot are so shitty (Mainly LA but also New Orleans). The Spurs got the 10th spot last year at 33-39, a .458 record. Right now with the lakers in 10th place they're 31-43, a .419 record. The 9th place team was the Warriors with a .542 record, this year its New Orleans at .427. The bottom of the west is shittier with a lot of teams outright tanking in a way that Pop just won't do.

Not to be that guy and I am certainly no expert but there is a good chance of that setup introducing high levels of BPA into your food.   The pool is probably PVC also which isn't ideal.  Those grocery bags have been shown to have high levels of lead too.

I think the hard plastic kid pools like that are usually made of of low density polyethylene which do not contain BPA, similar to to what's used for water/soda bottles. There are other chemicals used to manufacture it but it seems like its considered generally safe. Inflatable pools are made of PVC which is what you would want to avoid because of the high BPA levels. It could also be made of high density polyethylene which is considered safer than low density. The plastic type could be different from one pool to the next though.

You could use grow bags in the place of the poly bags with similar results and still not be very expensive.

Why won’t you stay and build Angelo State or Fort Scott Junior College?!?!   Have you no decency, sir!

For that matter, why did he ever leave his high school job at McDowell’s?  Pay your dues, move up to washing lettuce, and one day you’ll be assistant manager and the big bucks will start to roll in!

And the knock on Beard at UALR was that he completely turned over the shitty roster that went 13-18 and brought in better players, keeping the best one, and then went 30-5?

It's going to take some tankish behavior I don't think we have in us to get to 11 in the conference.  We're almost surely destined for one of the play in games.  Warriors doing everything they can to get out of 10.  4-11 in last 15.  Draymond saying out loud what success will do to you...... Do we want to win the play in game or lose it?

I don't think we have it in us either but I also don't think we win the play in. If the Lakers fall into the 7-10 range and LBJ and Davis come back there's no way we win. Memphis and Dallas would probably beat us. We would likely beat the Warriors and Sacramento if they're in that play in spot. This is assuming we're in the lottery after losing the play in, at least that's how I think it works.

  11. Just hope for some lottery luck at this point. Houston and OKC tanking hard as hell, Wolves and Pelicans just suck, and every team in the east that doesn't make the playoffs will have a worse record than us. After Cleveland tomorrow, upcoming games 2x against Denver and then one against Dallas, this could go to shit pretty fast.

It does warm my heart to see fucking punkass bitch Fred Vanvleet and Toronto near the bottom of the east and likely not even able to make the shitty play in games.

Shaka being at Marquette, which is closer to his home, probably has to do more than the style of offense.  All these out of state recruits were only coming here because of Shaka, and with him bring closer to their homes is perhaps leading them to bail on Texas and go to Marquette instead.

The offense could part of it. I looked at the players listed as forwards or centers on Tech's last 3 rosters and there's not many 3 point attempts from those players. The only guy I noticed taking those shots was TJ Holyfield averaging 1.4 3 point attempts per game and he was a 37% 3 point shooter during his time in college. Compare that to Dylan Osetkowski under Shaka- 3.6 3pa per game at 30%.

This article from late last night comparing Beard to Billy Gillispie is amazing. My favorite paragraph:

”There is a psychological term for those who view other human beings as mere tools for their own gratification and aggrandizement. The term is sociopath. Whether or not Beard fits the clinical definition of a sociopath, I cannot say. But what I can say with complete certainty is that his behavior in accepting the Texas job was sociopathic.”

Yeah, I was wondering if the Vaquero thing was new.  What was the old mascot.  I feel like I should know but get confused, Broncos?

I think UT Brownsville and UT Pan Am consolidated into 1 university around 5 years ago  and they decided on Vaqueros to replace both original school mascots. Not sure of all the ins and outs and what have yous with those campuses being about an hour apart.

Is the XFL 2.0 actually dead though? I thought The Rock bought it from McMahon and was planning to play again in 2022.

As of right now, yeah, should be on for at least 2022

Vassell is niiiiiiice. Always in the right place at the right time and he doesn't seem to force anything. He'd be such a nice complementary / glue guy on a good team. As much as his calling card is on defense, he's not a great one on one defender. His close outs aren't really effective and he doesn't consistently stay in front of his man. But he's going to create a ton of havoc off ball in the passing lanes and with his help defense. His outside shooting is a huge bonus so far. I hope he keeps it up.

I feel bad for Trey Lyles. Now that Forbes is gone, he's going to be on the receiving end of a lot of fan ire. From me. Let me be the first to extol his suckiness. He's like a taller, less effective Richard Jefferson but on a better contract.

This team is going to lose a lot. Their defense is fairly atrocious, they take terrible shots on offense, don't finish well at the rim and they don't have many (any?) knock down shooters. Really, really looking forward to White and Johnson getting back and see what they really have. They have the potential to be fun and likewise the potential to be really depressing.

Same here. And I'm going to hate on Rudy Gay a lot. And Dejounte Murray. And Lonnie Walker when he plays like ass, so like 40 games at least. And Lamarcus if he keeps up his preseason 25% shooting form. Fuck. Maybe with all of this extreme suck going around we can get Cade Cunningham or Evan Mobley
