Both of those are solid. The chicken fried steak at Murn's in Archer City is the best one I've eaten. Also one of the only places I know of where you can get a Monte Cristo sandwich which also is bangin'.

That was a damn good chicken fry at Murns. I think I agree with you on the best I’ve ever had as well. My lone complaint and it’s a big one is that they did not have mashed potatoes. That would have turned it up to an 11.

Sounds like a winner to me. I’ll report back.

All are good. Murn's and Iredell Cafe are exceptional. Jake and Dot's round out the top three.

I’m headed to OKC on Monday and want to stop some place out of the way for lunch. I was originally thinking Woodson Inn in Woodson. Then I found this thread and am thinking Murn’s or the Cafe in Graford. Any others to consider up that way?

  4. I’m planning a trip down nostalgia lane here and was wondering if the food cart by the littlefield fountain is still there.  It’s been a LONG time since I’ve been there but the younger dude who use to run it was legit. He use to take your order and get your change before you knew what you said.  Kinda like the Wendy’s dude.  This was back in 2000 or so. I use to live off that chicken fried rice and lemonade they sold. Anyways, I’d like to go by again if it’s still around.

  5. Red River is probably my favorite western of all time. Searchers and Big Jake are easily 2a and 2b. Then it's Clint Eastwood brilliance  for a while. Round that out with War Wagon, Hondo, Train Robbers, Fort Apache, Butch Cassidy, and Young Guns 1&2 and you're there.
