I don’t believe it happened. I know it happened. amari is a smart cat and he knows dak is fucking garbage. he told the truth about it and dak put a hit out on him. it perfectly explains why we took a 5th rounder for an elite receiver.

From all reports Cooper is not one to complain...or say much.  Dont think he just decided out of the blue to say something when the knock on him is he is very passive. ...They only got a 5th because everyone knew they were releasing him. That's it thats the reason.

I'm pretty sure I'm a little different than an NFL athlete with access to professional doctors 24/7. If it was more serious, he would not have looked that happy at the podium.

Adrenaline works wonders. I would say 50/50 he plays agianst the Vikes at this moment.

We have a BYE so hopefully he can be game ready. I just wish we had taken the damn backup position more seriously though.

How would they have taken it more serious? They got lucky when Dalton fell into their lap last year. It did not happen this year but there was not a ton of back up QBs on the market that were obvious gets.

Yeah that seemed a little ticky-tack. Technically QB is responsible for where the Val goes even if falling down but it didn’t look like there was intent to throw it away so much as he was just knocked off balance.

That is a horse collar all day. Nothing ticky tacky about it

So - 10 years ago (when Obama was President) whomever received those racist emails didn't think there was anything wrong with it - and that's okay? But all of a sudden 10 years later it's a big deal what Gruden said but not the non-reaction of who he said it to? That should be just as important.

If you send a bunch of bigoted emails to a company, and then later that company hires you (or allows you to be hired to a position related to business with that company), I don't see how they can claim 10 years later that you should be fired for your behavior without admitting some culpability.

He sent the emails to WFT Bruce Allen not to someone in the league. I am pretty sure he said the things because he was comfortable knowing Allen would not say anything and WFT did not hire him the Raiders did, so again the NFL would have no knowledge about them

I don't have a problem with him being disciplined or fired over his comments. What I have a problem with is that it took 10 years to do something about it. Whomever at the NFL saw these emails and didn't think any discipline needed to happen and allowed him to be associated with the NFL thru MNF and then as a coach - well they should burn too.

No one outside of Gruden and who he sent the emails to knew what he said until the WFT sexual assualt investigation. No one has been sitting on them for 10 years

And they're causing a lot of frustration for the offenses even when they aren't getting the turnover.   Pressuring nearly every play, generating a ton of offensive holding penalties, etc.  Diggy and Parsons are creating massive havoc.  Gregory played well last night too.  Imagine lining up DLaw and Parsons at end, Diggy and Gregory at T on 3rd and long situations once DLaw is back.  Talk about a massive amount of pressure on the offensive line to keep those 4 from getting home...

We need to tap the breaks on the D...turnovers are great but also unreliable.
The team is still 2nd to last in passing yards allowed
They give up over 8 yards a pass they give up the third worst 6.7 yards per play both pass/rush
5th worst in TD passes so far
7th worst in yards per rush
    2nd to last in sacks
    6th worst in TFLs
While Parsons is getting pressure as a team they rank at the bottom in sack rate and QB pressures.

I think there is some good pieces in place but there will be games where the other team protects the football well and Dallas will get shredded. I actually think this Sunday's game will be a prime example. It is the first noon game after three high priority games against a team that is not a must beat team. I expect them to be a bit sluggish and Carolina protects the ball really well so far and I think they will give Dallas fits.

Rams aren't doing anything they did not already do with Goff. McVey is the common denominator. Stafford didn't do shit in Detroit and now Goff isn't. Switch both of them and the Rams are doing what they have been doing this whole time which is win games. Are you already forgetting the 2018 season under Goff? They also got to the divisional round last year. You are acting like Stafford took over some shit team and instantly elevated them.

Goff has not been the same since McVay basically announced he had no faith in him in the SB with that terrible game plan. Rams won last year almost entirely on the D. Goff 2018 32-12 TD-INT...2019 22-16 TD INT...2020 20-13 TD-INT.   Stafford already has 9 tds to 1 int..in 3 games.  The Rams offense is night and day different with Stafford compared to post SB Goff.

NC state head coach going to the TOm Herman school of turtleing.

that was a bad decision there.   you are getting tired, your kicker cant hit the broad side of a barn, and you have the chance to win the game.   call the same damn play as the TD you just scored on and win this in a walkoff.

now.... now you gotta hold on.... not smart.

Not really...Clemson D is the one that has beeon the field all day and the flipping of the possesions means you have them back to back on the field.

Given his experience level, I’m ok calling him a freshman. Sark is where the blame should be placed, like Mack throwing Gilbert into the national championship game. I don’t take this shit personal, but can’t understand people shitting on potential future stars before they’ve been given a chance to succeed. I won’t apologize for calling out the 1%’s bullshit.

Blame for what? sometimes you have to throw em out and see what happens. The mistake in the Arky game is A. They are better than anyone thought. B. No one in the program right now has seen the Arky hate for UT in person and they underestimated it.

Jon boy has really done a great job with the Rangers.  Run them straight in the ground.

Blame the owners. They do not care to win, they built the unneeded ballpark on the backs of the WS teams and now they want to pretend Texas is a small market team.

Same. But to be fair to the Steelers, they only beat the Cowboys once.  The other time “Jackie Smith” happened😠😡🤬

Smith did not cause Dallas to lose that game it only helped assure they would not win. People forget the last TD was basically a make it look better score after an onside. The Randy White fumble and the defensive PI call( that was a pretty ticky tack call) were more important points in the game that caused Dallas to lose.

  13. So Happy for Jeff. I was just getting into broadcasting when he was at Gilmer and I was broadcasting their first state title run in 2004.  Hated how is his time here at UT went and was worried it was going to hurt him for future jobs. So glad it did not.

My Lord i hope you don't share these opinions on air like your handle suggests. Did you see the teams he lost to? North Texas got close to a million dollars to go to arkie and beat their ass. San Jose or San Diego did too.

SEC recruites alone are better than north Texas by a long, long, long shot. Any kid getting an offer from North Texas and Arkansas always goes to Arkansas.

Pay more attention to whatever other sports you broadcast and post less about football because chad Morris was a terrible head coach. And a great example is whoever is the coach there now is winning a few games with players he didn't recruit.

Chad Morris is worse than tom herman and that's hard to do.

He was trying to change an offense that was built to be a power run game  and recruited that way and was lacking real talent. I literally said Not sure he was going to turn it around but he also was not given a real shot. Two years is not a real shot. Those two statements are not exclusive to each other.

  15. 12 hours ago, C-Man said:

I'm not averse to hiring an assistant but it's a lot harder to project these guys as head coaches until they've been head coaches. OU hit a home run with Stoops. Chad Morris was Tony Elliott before Tony Elliott was Tony Elliott (this sentence makes my head hurt). That didn't work out so well.

Urban is a known commodity, one of the best college coaches in the game. He's won national titles in two different places. He would wreck shop at Texas. And he's available. It's a goddamn layup unless Texas is too high-and-mighty to make that hire.

Morris was not even given a real chance at Arky. Not saying he was going to turn it around but he never even got the real shot

You don't see the difference between Meyer and Art?  I'd rather quit football than hire Briles

“The program was out of control,” former Florida safety Bryan Thomas told the Sporting News.

Part of the problem, according to the report, is that Meyer’s players said he developed a “circle of trust” group of players that could get away with anything and Meyer would look the other way because of their talent on the football field.

Former players told the Sporting News that future pro stars Percy Harvin, Brandon Spikes, and Aaron Hernandez all missed a game due to failed drug tests for marijuana. Officially, Meyer reported that the three were injured.

The Sporting News’ investigation pointed to Harvin as getting the most preferential treatment. The Sporting News said multiple players confirmed that Harvin physically attacked wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales by grabbing him by the neck and throwing him to the ground.

It took two other assistant coaches to pull Harvin off Gonzales, players told the Sporting News, but Harvin was never disciplined. Gonzales would later resign by putting his keys, cell phone, and a resignation letter on Meyer’s desk.

More than 30 players were arrested in Meyer’s six seasons. Tight end Aaron Hernandez admitted to failing a drug test at UF which cost his draft stock. Harvin failed a drug test at the NFL combine and caused him to slip in the first round, according to the Sporting News.

And this is the stuff people are willing to talk about.

    Such a pussy

No I have just read all the Briles jokes and how Baylor sold their soul and Meyer has left two places in turmoil and Florida not far off from what Briles did at Baylor. I am just pointing out that UT would basically be doing what Baylor did and selling the soul. Me personally I am fine with it but I mean we got people crying about players not staying for Eyes after the game today, I can only imagine the uproar if Meyers starts doing his same shit.

FOWTBS. Not a Herman fan, but going for 2 makes no sense for a coach, unless he HAS to. You don’t make it, it was CLEARLY a mistake. Because in retrospect it’s easy to say what was “right”

It is one of those if it works it is a great call and if it does not he would be taking the same shit on here .
