It's a direct result of this interior line not having the foot quickness to reach block on OZ. They can't do it and fall over themselves trying to get out there while the small quick DL of UTEP and SHSU cross their faces.  Asking them to block that is like asking Ewers to run Haynes King's offense. Or asking VY to run Peyton Manning's offense. It's stupidity.

Why did they recruit extra large dudes on the line if they wanted to run so much zone blocking? Zone blocking was created 35+ years ago as a way for undersized, quick linemen to be able to force the bigger DL to move laterally where they could engage them and wall them off without having to drive block them to create space for the backs. It's not meant for linemen with a massive size advantage and slower feet than the DL.

I just don't get why the fuck Sark is putting these dudes through this.

Wasn't UTEP leading the country in some sort of defensive category. Also they are so small that its tough for our big nastys to do much. They looked so much better against OSU.

I wonder if it was related to what took him out last year as well. This is not a good sign on his potential impact at Texas.

I would worry if it was second torn ACL or something to that nature. If its something cleaned up then they are playing this smart so he is ready for JAN.

Lmao I hate predictions that change week to week. Aggy is now gonna make the playoff? They beat a 0-2 shitty ND team. They’ll have multiple losses by seasons end.

Aggies defense is shit. Reed will come down to earth. Notre Dame fucking sucks and in rebuild.

  4. If he is looking sharp in practice, but not the same in the game then it is defintely mental.

If he is shit in practice and also in the games then he is just not the guy and this was a poor evaluation. If he is injured then he needs to get that squared away and be ready for next year. Caldwell has experience.

I’ll share the full write up once it is posted, but Dunlap on OB said he just finished his OL grades for SJSU and a few things stuck out:

-Goosby graded out above 80 on his scale which is considered very good

-Baker actually graded out at 79.13 which is considered very solid

-Stroh was 73 which is horrible and Umeozulu was at 79. He said if Flood sees stuff the same way he does, there is no reason Neto shouldn’t be given the starting nod against UTEP.

Get ready to get torched by the oline experts in this thread.

I don't think Donaldson and Wisner are really comparable.  Donaldson is a big dude.  Wisner is way smaller.

What Baxter gives us that the rest of our backs don't is the ability to change directions and break tackles.  Wisner has had to grow into his role, but he answered the call last year in a big way.  He and Blue stepped up bigtime last year.  I imagine the entire room should perform better now that defenses will have to account for the QB in the run game.

Wisner put on 15 pounds correct? Baxter is a bruiser with the ability to stretch the field when he has a gap. Both will be important to the run game.

Wisner with a nice cut starting at 0:16. Honestly surprised that was him. I've seen 3 years of him and feel like I still don't give him the respect that he deserves.

After OU he got all my respect. Guy is also 15 pounds bigger and more explosive per Nahlin.

Alabama Recruiting is on another level right now 🔥 The Crimson Tide now have FIVE (!) 5-Stars Committed: • Xavier Griffin (LB) • Jireh Edwards (S) • Ezavier Crowell (RB) • Cederian Morgan (WR) • Jorden Edmonds (CB) The closest schools have 2.

What are they doing in the trenches? Saban owned it in this area.

I mean you at least could have pos repped it…guess that’s beside the point.
This drought is getting tough. You would think we could have bought someone by now at least…oh wait.

We have allocated a dumptruck of money for 3 remaining recruits, this kid today was not one of them.

You are focused on the wrong areas, try not being a tourist for one second.
