Do you not understand what low hanging fruit means? Google says:

"Low-hanging fruit" is a metaphor that refers to tasks that are easy to accomplish, require minimal effort, and provide immediate rewards.

In business, the phrase is used to describe projects that a team or employee can easily and quickly complete before moving on to more challenging work. For example, a company might identify low-hanging fruit projects that should be a priority, such as high impact, low effort projects."

Yes, I believe we got the low hanging fruits. Feel free to disagree.

I know exactly what the term means. You meant it as a negative because these

kids were not from a P5 school. You still haven't answered my question.

First of all, I never said I didn't like the "kids" that committed to us. I acknowledged in one of my posts that they were upgrades over what we lost in Mitchell and Hunter. What I also said was that we still needed to replace our top players in Disu and Abmas and that first or second team all P5 conference guys are what we needed for those replacements. Abmas was lighting it up in a non-p5 conference but that didn't translate well to big 12. You can be pleased with the new guys and still want better players to round out the roster. Only RT fanatics would take such comments as attacks on him or the "kids" who probably make more on NIL than most adults on this board except the nurses.

You're backtracking faster than a Port Lavaca sand crab. You never answered my question about the kid

from Northern Colorado. You probably thought that he was low hanging fruit.

Sorry I should have fallen in line with "trust the corches" during the offseason and save my criticisms for the in-season when we fail to live up to our expectations. Then we will say, if only we are able replace a few underperformers, we would be elite. Wait till next year! That is the Aggy, I mean the surly way now.

No one is telling you to fall in line. Just don't make comments about kids you

know nothing about. If they don't play up to your expectations next year, then bitch away.

Whatever dude. You win Surly. I don't have time for arguing with people who can't see the big picture, which is to construct a championship caliber roster. Texas should always be able to add transfers from non-P5 schools, hence my "low hanging fruit" comment.

I'll go with the coach's judgement over yours. How did that kid from Northern Colorado work out

    last year?

I think a stacked QB room with Arch Manning and true freshman showing out makes him think about where else he could go w/out as much competition. Especially with as much as he's visited Auburn.

Or he might think that if Arch took a redshirt year to better understand the offense, build his strength,

and get used to the jump up in competition, that might be the answer to getting better prepared for the draft one day. Arch will be our starting QB for probably 2 years so that might be the winning formula for him as well.

i posted right away that there was nothing he could do- including a texas national title win- that would make me think that he was good enough to be our permanent HC. several others agreed with me.

you mean now that the season is over? because every single away game played after that incident was “Horns Down Night” at the opposing arena.

Opponents have been doing the horns down long before you were born. If I remember correctly and I may not, the horns down

stuff at BYU was stopped by their admin. RT didn't even know what happened.

I want to see how travel affects the West Coast teams moving forward.  I'm going to guess they are going to be logging Hawaii type numbers in the coming years.  Not saying elite players are going to play school, but this would be a negative nonetheless.  Not to mention administrative costs on each school when you log ~8k miles for football alone.

When the move to the B10 was announced, I mentioned the travel. Flying from the west coast to the east coast

will be rough. A 6-hour flight and 3 time zones is going to be brutal.

  8. Tough loss but great to fight until the last second. For those of you putting on a Texas uniform for the

last time, congrats for all of your hard work and dedication. I hope that great things are in

everyone of your futures. For those of you that have the ability to come back next year, I hope that you

do with a sense of the opportunity that is ahead of you. Use this tough loss as motivation for the future.

Eh, let's please not use today's outing as a fuel for the fire. Disu was sick, then benched on account of some uneven calls, and then injured on a freak play.

The team did fall apart and lose their shit about that time, but by then, refs were going well out of their way to make sure BU had every advantage to win tonight. 42 motherfucking free throws and all our "bigs," plus our fireplug (Weaver) in foul trouble.

Not saying there aren't reasons to be unhappy with Terry, but after that monumental horse-fucking we were just subjected to, it's rubbing salt in the wound.

Why are you bringing common sense to this thread?

dillon mitchell will play the same number of nba games as i do.

Well, he's playing as a scholarship athlete in college and is a student at UT so that's already 2 things that he has accomplished that you haven't.

Condolences on your loss, Greg. Sounds like y'all shared some great moments together.

Thanks Braff. I believe that's 5 teammates and my coach that are gone that I know of.

In fairness some of them also played against guys that looked like this:

Years ago, I was reading about that movie and if I remember correctly, this kid was the best athlete in the movie.

Supposedly, he was such a good free throw shooter that he had problems actually missing a free throw but I get your point.

It's tough to compare athletes from years ago with today because the game is so different now. I would have loved to see lebron

challenge the prehistoric beasts like Wilt, Russell, Zelmo, Thurmond, Reed and the rest.
