Well at least you admitted you were completely ignorant of your own coach’s behavior. I guess that’s something at least even if you’re too thick to recognize or too low of character to admit to your misplaced holier than thou attitude.

Not completely ignorant, I just have never seen  him doing it ever on the field. It's not something he's exactly known for.  I'm just taking your word that you're not making it up.  Cause we have video of Herman's assery.

Not sure what you mean by holier than thou attitude.  My point is very simple- that I think  the coaching staff shouldn't be partaking in that behavior on the field.   That's not an attitude, that's just how I feel about something.  And it's certainly not holier than tho, I'm not a coach, i dont hold the same standard to the fans or the players. Just the coaches.

So you complain about Herman's behavior on the field.  I point out that Stoops was a douchebag on the field.  You say it's irrelevant and deflecting when it's the exact subject.  You're a special kind of stupid aren't you.

Nope, not at all. Because Herman doing something on the field has nothing to do with Stoops.  If Stoops does it on the field, it's just as dumb as if Herman did it.  That's not deflecting at all, I admit that it's stupid behavior no matter who the coach is.  YOu are deflecting because when i say Herman does it, your response is to tell me Stoops does it. As if that somehow makes it okay or something.  It doesnt, they are both stupid for it and you really look like a horses ass when you are a HC mocking a college kid.

    On second thought, just GTFO.

You don't want those pics. I did once shave my pubes in the shape of a Q when I was in the Navy.  The last time I posted pictures like that online these UT girls representing a group called Cocks not Glocks and asked if I would be a model for a cock mold they planned on using for cocks they were going to hand out around campus. Not sure what ever happened with that....

Of course. $ooner mantra. I didn’t do nuffin. I just screamed for Mixon’s TDs and bought his jersey, I didn’t approve of him breaking that girl’s face. It’s not on me.

Dont talk to me about class.

Also you’re whole complaint about how coaches act is ridiculous and hollow. Stoops and worse yet his brother acted like complete d bags out there.

How is any of that on me?

My complaint isnt ridiculous and hollow at all.    It doesnt matter what Stoops did, that has nothing, at all to do with Herman. You are again deflecting from the subject.   Start a thread about Stoops and we can chat about how much you dont like him.

Yeah that’s a big lie. I’ve seen Stoops do it in the Cotton Bowl with my own eyes.

Sure, comment all you want. But if there’s such a thing as negative credibility on this topic, you have it, $ooner.

If he did it during a game, I'm not with it.  So there you go.

That's just bias and prejudice.  My being a fan doesnt mean I  have to mean i represent all of that or that i should have to defend it.

Stoops did the Horns down out there. Guess that douchebag doesn’t count in your objective mind?

Look it’s simple. OU fans don’t get to comment on anything related to: ethics, class or morality. You’re ok with violence against girls so just shut it.

Stoops doing it doesnt take away from my opinion of Herman's actions during that game.  Sure, Stoops has done the horns down before in the past, I've seen it with my own eyes.Never during a game, but otherwise yes ,certainly.  But your're just deflecting from the subject of this thread, which is Herman.

OU fans can comment on anything, this isnt China.

It is some riiiiiich bullshit watching a fucking okie attempt to talk to us about class from the coaching ranks. You fucking shitbags haven’t had a coach come within a country mile of class in the entire history of your corrupt, fast food, low rent, carnival barking, yak woman-licking, shithole of a program. You’ve had coaches enabling drug dealers, woman beaters, rapists, academic cheats and general outlaw antics regarding paying players and spying on other programs, all the while smiling through their crooked teeth and whooping it up with their fans and boosters as it happened. The fucking horns down is your only hand sign and your coaches do it with aplomb.

You wouldn’t know class if a fucking school fell from the sky and landed on your hillbilly head.

As to the rest of these people bawling, fuck them if they can’t take a joke. I hope Tom Herman is the most hateable coach in college football to all of the other programs. I’m tired of being the only program to hate the Texas coach, personally.

What does it matter what coaches of OU have done? It doesnt have anything to do with what your coach has done.  And i have seen some coaches use the horns down, but I  have not seen it in a game, actin' a fool o n the sideline. If this was a thread about OU coaches we could talk about that but I'm pretty sure this is a thread about Herman and his antics at the bowl game.  I can still have an opinion about it regardless of what my favorite team is,  it's not like I"m Bob stoops or whatever coach you dont like.

On 7/21/2018 at 8:56 AM, Scholz said:

And that’s fair. But Glenn’s not. He’s trying to take the moral high ground as a $ooner. Which is like Kim Jong Un touting humility.

Just saying I expect more out of a coach when he's out there on the field.   Leave the mocking and overt amesmanship like that to the players and fans.

No it would be more like a fan of north korea touting humility.  You'd have to have kim jong un himself making that comment for it to be like that. I can be an OU fan and also not worship the feet of everything OU, and simultaneously hold an opinion about a texas coach separate from that.

The coach is responsiblefor the team, therefore, anything that his players or other coaches do is a reflection of him.  By not telling Baker to cut fhat shit out he was directly endorsing everything Baker did.  (Only talking on the field stuff here)  In the instance of the Mizzou team their coaches did nothing to keep their players from asscting like arrogant assholes all week.

Sure, nothing wrong with feeling that way.   And if you like your coach acting like that, then no big deal.   Doesnt really matter at the end of the day.

Your coach is so classy that he lets Bakey run from police, plant flags on opponents fields, and grab his crotch because an opponent didn’t shake his hand. Foh

But the coach himself isnt doing any of that. It's the college kids with the antics.  And i'm pretty sure the crotch thing was not because they didnt shake hands.  Anyway, I get a feeling texas fans are gonna be hating on Riley for a real long time!  Get used to seeing him smiling, a lot.

Fuck that shit.  For decades Texas has been mocked by opposing coaches, players and fans who do the horns down and more.  For decades Texas has been a mostly classy team.  Texas gets penalties called on them for shit like holstering the guns against Tech while in the same game Tech is allowed to do the horns down multiple times.  This type of stuff has been going on forever.  Being the classy one has cost Texas many times over the years, for instance not running up the scores in 2008 while OU did.  It's time to take the gloves off and fight back.

I see, so other people do it, may as well go play in the mud too, right? That's way better than trying to take the high road.   Players and fans, that's different. That's a part of the sport to be mocked or ridiculed by players or fans, that's just a part of the sport.  But not the coaching staff, I think we hold them to a higher standard. I don't care all that much at the end of the day, but I would be nice  to know my coach is classy enough to be above exhibiting such behavior publicly.   Being  classy doesn't cost you anything.  Not mocking someone is completely free.  It may earn you some admiration from your teenage players and even some fans, but it will make you look kind of petty to the world. Maybe some parents of potential recruits saw that display of behavior and didnt like it.  I would say less good comes from it than bad.     Getting your ass beat on the field and running up the score, well, that's something you have to try real hard to avoid, but i would say it's always nice to stick it to your  biggest rival whenever you can on the field. But dont act a douche in the way you act or talk about it.

Except it's not a national story whenever the opposing coach does it and most non-UT fans take pleasure whenever people do the horns down or call it borderline erotic. We are the evil empire despite our record, so who gives a shit about taking the high road, particularly when the Mizzou players were being shits in the week leading up to the game.

I'm glad we have a coach that actually fires up his team to do something about it instead of the blank stare into nothing.

I would say a coach who does that should deservedly get criticized for it no matter who it is. And if you had read my previous post you would realize i welcome all that stuff from opposing fans and players, but from opposing coaches i expect more out of them.   Hey I guess he felt that mocking a player on the other team was the best way to fire up his boys.   I heard he was a MENSA genius, so i know he could have thought of something more creative than that though.

That's funny as every game we play, we have the opposing coaching staff doing the horns down.

Well you can roll around in the mud with the less respectable coaches out there or you can set the example and take the high road. It's a decision we all must make.  I figure being paid as much as he is, it should be an easy one!

  15. I thought it was funny and cool that the texas players mocked Locke, I think that's well a part of the game. But I think the head coach ought to be above it, at least on camera. Living in the vaccum of fanhood we often let "our guys" slide on stuff like that.   If fortunes were reversed and the mizzou coach did that, I would think he was a douche for it

Like what, exactly? I find it quite hard to believe that Herman is just going around talking shit about players constantly. That's fucking retarded. This is a bunch of butt hurt Charlie Strong players that can see that now that Herman has taken over, Texas is on an upward trajectory the likes of which Strong couldn't sniff.

Who knows what it is, but i cant imagine a former player being upset that his alma mater is good.   I can imagine if my former coach was talking shit on me behind my back I wouldnt like it and maybe they think airing these grievances publicly was getting more traction than privately. who knows! But  this certainly isnt isolated to a single player.  It's interesting for sure.  Herman can come off a bit brash.

Damn, looks like you dumbass okies got a case of the aggy wrt recruiting, bragging about a good class like it's incredible.

Well look at it like this, they won the conference three years in a row and went to the playoffs twice in 3 years with classes ranked 19, 15, 14, 16, 12.   Three or four of those years texas had a better class.  Now in 2017 and 2018 they are firmly the top 10 and getting 5 stars they werent before.  2019 looks top 5 and 2020 is already looking really strong too.  So I would say if they did this well with that kind of recruiting, I wonder what we'll be seeing recruits that the alabamas, ohio states and usc of the world wanted.  I was getting tired of seeing them beat out western kentucky, colorado state and texas tech for some 3 star.   Now they have the ear of all the top end guys like dax hill, rattler and wease.  must be nice to have that year after year down in austin.   so yeah I think it'll be bad for everyone else if OU keeps getting those kind of guys.

I don't know if they do or not.  But when was the last time Oklahoma State didn't have a QB who could play?  Gundy gets the benefit of the doubt at this point.

For the most part but after weeden was done 2011, it was pretty meh until Rudolph was the guy in 15.
  21. 2 hours ago, 'stache said:

I'm pretty skeptical of "______ is the future of the program" type comments as it relates to OSU quarterbacks.  First it was going to be Bobby Reid, who was a five-star recruit and drew comparisons to Vince Young, but ended up being a bust.  Backup Zac Robinson ended up having a good career instead.  Alex Cate was a four star QB recruit who turned out to be awful and third-string elderly walkon Brandon Weeden became a star.  JW Walsh was our next four-star savior, but he turned out to have a noodle arm (though he did contribute and had a decent career).  Local unheralded Clint Chelf ended up having a few pretty good years as the starter.  Our next four star was Wes Lunt, who ended up being a fragile turnover machine.  Mason Rudolph was a three-star who ended up as our star.

You get the picture.  I've heard great things about Sanders, and I'm cautiously optimistic he'll take over and be a star.  We could really use it to keep the momentum going with the passing game and to avoid having to work Justice Hill to death.

I mostly say it because I dont think you currently have a Big 12 quality qb on campus.  Maybe a guy who will be a game manager but not really a take the team on his shoulders type of guy.  Sanders is the closest thing you will have to it, and i think the new rule to let people play and keep a rs will be big time for him. I Rudolph was even the best when he stepped on campus but its hard to start a freshman unless you really have to.
