  1. Big news for Kansas. Hopefully this is a good sign that more and more programs are going to start committing to college baseball. Thought for sure Dan would only be there for 2-3 years then be off to greener pastures.

p.s. it's been true for 30 years and remains true that betting on the team with a more western longitude in the NCAA baseball tournament is a long-term money-making play.

How far West are we talking?

Do not contact tags mean don’t contact player personally. Doesn’t mean you can’t contact his representation

I know what it means. When someone enters with a do not contact tag there is a 99.9% chance they already know where they are going. Would be nice if it is Texas

  4. Borba will be an interesting one to watch during the draft.

In a similar situation that Jared Southard was back in 2022 where he showed a lot of potential, averaging 14.1 K/9 his last year at Texas. Never really got an opportunity to start because of some command issues

I remember being excited about him potentially having a bigger role on the 2023 team and next thing you know the Angels take a shot on him in the 12th round and he is gone.

None of those guys got playing time at a bottom tier conference school this year.  Why would they be good enough for the conference champions?

Liam Doyle posted a 6.00 ERA in conference play for an Ole Miss team that finished 27-29 and missed the NCAA tournament last year. He is possibly pitching his way to the #1 overall pick as we speak for Tennessee right now pumping 99 MPH fastballs from the left side.

In baseball you look for tools and ability in players you feel like you can’t teach.

  6. UTSA was just more sound defensively and fundamentally. They made more 50/50 plays than Texas did. Plays that when it’s all said and done don’t go down as errors if you don’t make them but change the game if you do.

Flores was on the shit end of several of those on Saturday night. Galvan trying to get back and tag on the ball Kimble hit to right center when there was no reason too. Texas overall had more baserunners than UTSA, just didn’t make the plays when it mattered most.

Schloss’ unwillingness to move Flores and Gasparino down the order, or at the very least separate them, until it was too late, hurt this team mightily down the stretch.

  7. I’ll say this, if I’m Schloss I find a way to play a 3 game weekend series against UTSA every year while Pat Hallmark is there. Those kids don’t flinch.

Sir, I'll have you know I took an IQ test and I scored a 103. That's 3 points over the maximum for fuck's sake. I'd only settle for admission into one of the prestigious Ivy league schools.

Woah, take it easy Chad, we weren’t familiar with your game
