Michigan will potentially have 20 guys drafted in the coming draft.
And they have a coach that could be back in the NFL as a head coach the moment he decides he wants it.
Sark is a good coach...specifically a good OC especially in the pass oriented schemes primarily used now in CFB.
But NIL has changed the fortunes at Texas more than Sark ever could. We are recruiting interior talent better than we ever have. And the skills guys are using the portal to come in and get theirs. I don't like how CFB is changing but I also understand you have to keep up with the changes.
Sark is outcoached most games. Last night was no exception. Washington D is not elite. Sark and his QB still struggled on offense. Other P12 defenses with less talent than Texas slowed Penix down some. We didn't use an effective zone and had no chance against him.
Little things. But game changers.

Penix went Vince Young on us and dominated. It’ll be interesting to see if Michigan can stop him. They’ll probably do what we should’ve done and run the damn ball and keep him off the field.
Michigan is going to win next week for 2 reasons:
They will run the ball all night and control TOP. And they will generate an effective pass rush.
Penix will still put up good numbers. But not even close to his game last night.
Does Michigan have more overall talent than Texas? Nope.
But they have a much better coach who will scheme a winning game plan with one week to prepare as opposed to Sark who had 4 weeks and still looked unprepared.

Ewers did not play well tonight. Good grief some of the QE love in this thread. Look the guy got better this year. And? He needs to work on a ton of stuff to take the next step. But what's the incentive if you are promised the starting job and already making 7 figures to be a "college" football player?
He's not it.

Brady had the mind and just needed time for the physical side to catch up. Ewers is 180 degrees opposite, and you don't develop into a stone cold killer. That's something you either are or aren't. Ewers isn't.
Ewers improved this year. BUT the best thing that could happen would be starting AM next season. Take your lumps. And be ready to contend again in 2025. I don't know if Arch IS THE guy. I DO know that Ewers is not. And I'll bet Sark knows it too

Penix looked like Burrow out there today. Mich has a much better D than Texas so not likely to repeat that performance but he was awesome.

Strong disagree. We will be very good next year.
Not sure who's replacing Sweat and Murphy. Our secondary is awful. If Brooks comes back it will help.
But Ewers is a problem. Footwork is terrible. Mental game is just not there. And he's losing Worthy, JWitt, AD and Sanders. Next year is going to be rough compared to this one.

Our coaching staff is overrated. They aren’t near as good as they think they are.
Next year won’t be easy. I see 2-3 losses at least. Michigan and Georgia for sure are Ls.
We will lose 3 or 4 games next season. Georgia and Mich both losses if Harbaugh stays because we will be outcoached in both. Another dumb loss for sure in the SEC because we are losing a lot on both sides of the ball. We won't be a contender next year unfortunately

The swing pass to Blue on the short side of the field was one if the worst calls I've ever seen. What in the hell was Sark thinking there? What an absurdly stupid call in that situation.

The offensive genius comes up with those 4 plays in a must score situation. Good lord.
Season on the line. Berth in national championship game.
And those are the 4 plays that the "genius" comes up with. What a flaming pile of dogshit those last plays were. And Ewers was just as bad.

that pass was there the guy just made a great play on it
Are you blind? The pass was way overthrown. Good grief.

And THOSE 4 plays is why Sark and Ewers will never get it done

Gotta find an answer to Penix and the passing game. Without defensive adjustment this won't be a close game.
All about HT adjustments.

Time machine back to a different, simpler era of CFB:
ROSE: Michigan v Washington
COTTON: Texas v Oregon
ORANGE: Florida St v Georgia
SUGAR: Alabama v Ohio State
FIESTA: Penn St v Missouri
Now that's how we used to do New Years Day. Would be some great games.

I'm expecting Texas v Washington in the Sugar Bowl. New Orleans New Years Eve!

Are the Rose and Sugar bowls locked into a certain match up?
Rose 1 v 4
Sugar 2 v 3
?

Should be
Michigan
Washington
Texas
Alabama

FSU is not one of the best 4 teams in the country. Period.
-
If FSU wins an ugly game tonight I could see both Bama and Texas getting in over FSU.
Wouldn't be fair but I could see it.

-
If FSU loses and Bama wins could be looking at Texas v Washington Rose Bowl.
That is the one match-up I don't like. Their strength vs our weakness.
-
If FSU wins tonite...
Are we looking at Texas v Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl?
-
JB on the field! Love that move! Great job Sark!
Hook em!

Final score doesn't matter. If FSU loses, we in. If they win, we out.
Bama Georgia result no matter.

Why did we choose the whites today? Nothing against them just wondering.

Cowboys defense is awful. Like worst defensive performance of the year in the NFL awful.

He was properly scouted by Washington. They know he side arms a bit and were able to block a few passes. I think the stage was just too big for him.
The guy is a decent QB. But he's not VY or Colt and that is the standard we all hope for now at Texas.
I don't know if he gets any better. Maybe Arch pushes him...but I think we've seen QE ceiling.
