    *Marinaro

Ed Marinero was a Heisman runner-up.   He was a regular on Hill Street Blues, an excellent cop show from the 1980's, and had a respectable TV acting career.

His speech was long (and humorous), but it's not like he is up there because he finished 14th in a county spelling bee.

  2. It is almost a double album length.  There are, IMO, only two mediocre tracks, Low Desert and Zither.

    My favorites are:

    So Fast, So Numb

    Leave

    The New Test Leper

    E-Bow the Letter

These rank with their very best work.  Great thread, about an unjustly forgotten superb album.  I would rank it my 3rd favorite album behind Life's Rich Pageant & Automatic for the People.

Incidentally, I am one of about 10 people who really enjoyed their next album, UP.

And it is "Binky" the doormat, not "Blinky".  I wonder what that's about.  Thanks for the recording background.

I’m working on my list and I’m stuck on Bob Dylan. Trying to avoid duplicating artists and I have to choose one between Blood on the Tracks, Blonde on Blonde, and Hwy 61 Revisted? This is hard as fuck. I think I’d need 20

I would go with Blonde on Blonde,  a double album that never drags (I should have included  on my list).

Tentatively booked at the base at Crested Butte for next year - never been.  Looking forward to checking out some new slopes.  Its a resort I would always mentally skip for no logical reason other than it was far from Denver airport.  Now that I'm willing to drive, its more accessible to me.  Would love some tips...

Crested Butte is a good choice.  Lift lines are minimal most of the time.

  6. Mostly from a few years ago:

Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run

    The Who - Who's Next

    Replacements - Let It Be

    REM - Life's Rich Pageant

Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells a Story

    Love - Forever Changes

    Zombies - Odessey and Oracle

Steve Forbert - Alive on Arrival

These graphic and gratuitous details are not necessary in pleadings and are designed to um, inflame?, arouse? public opinion. Buzbee is ejaculating all over the media and then masturbating his penis some more.

This case will almost certainly never go to trial. It will come down to a morals clause voiding his contract or Watson waiving his no-trade.

I have no idea what the league might do. I am sure that would likely depend on the possible criminal cases Buzbee brazenly lied about the other day.

I don't think Watson waiving his no-trade clause is going to matter.  Maybe I am missing something.  Some team is going to have to trade for him.

I was in Crested Butte. Light crowd. No more exposure than entering HEB or Home Depot and many people on the slopes were masked and gloved. So no, not a cruise ship. Maybe Breck or Vail.

At Crested Butte today, I don't think I got within 10 feet of anyone, other than my family.

so which kamala staffer gets credit for planting a story in vf that "the gop fears that kamala could be another obama"?

kamala harris : not a nutjob

i can already see the bumper stickers.

Obama is one of the greatest public speakers of our time.  Harris cannot string 3 sentences together without backtracking or contradicting herself.  Big difference.

Kamala needs to show that she's got more than grilling the shit out of someone who is unable to fight back. That's the only situation in which she has ever really impressed, and I don't think that's even really presidential anyway. Then she gets in a one on one situation and there's a lot of "um well um you see...".

Although it would be kind of funny if going forward, whoever curb stomps Biden gets a huge bump in the polls.

Harris's lack of articulation is stunning.   She issues caveats that do not relate to the question, or her answer.  She starts stammering regularly when she gets to her third sentence.   Her true beliefs have not been intellegently stated 4 months into her campaign.  That is not true of most candidates.

She has only excelled at criticising other people.
