    culture transformed

let's see that fight hold up next week and beyond once it sinks in that sexton was sabotaging the program behind the scenes

this goes beyond absentee*/loreal issues - that stuff is personal

sexton fucked cdc, belmont and the cigars - even if sark wanted to go to the nfl - sexton should have kept his fucking mouth shut until our season was over - PERIOD

sexton is a parasite facehugger in the football business and has single-handedly transferred a billion dollars of donor wealth to coaches who did not earn it

if sark is committed to the 40 acres, he will fire sexton and renounce the athletic story with a COMPLETE DENIAL

for avoidance of doubt, the only way this goes away is if both of these things happen in the next 24 hours:

    1. sark fires sexton

    2. sark issues a complete denial of the athletic "story"

Could have been Sexton but I’m not sure about that.  Whether it be shitty false reporting or someone is Sarks circle stabbing him in the back, I agree he needs to squash it quick.

Sure. He has earned the right to fix issues he has created. Been a longhorn fan since I was a little girl. I remember McWilliams and Make Us Sick and blah blah blah. This is year five of Sark era. He FAFO all offseason. If he takes the same approach to next year he can GTFO. I’m loyal to the University and the players and the Program. What culture do we have right now at this current time? What did he do in the offseason that we are struggling to beat Kentucky and Mississippi State? In OT? Sorry but I’m loyal to the school. And to Surly. Outside of that if Sark doesn’t want to be here it’s not because of fan criticism or bc of this board or how we feel about his absolute dogshit asswater approach to the 2025 offseason. I prefer he clean up his shit and do the kind of play calling we saw in the fourth quarter for every game and play the players that can play. And stay. And learn from his mistakes, adapt, admit he was wrong about certain things and either sit up in the booth to call plays or hire a OC. The last HC to win a MNC and be both a play caller and HC was Jimbo. Sark should know this and stop trying to act like he’s so elite he can win it all that way. He’s not because he is too stubborn to identify that he needs to change.

But if he wants out so what? I can assure you he’s not building little statues to all his oblivious fans.

Yea I agree if he doesn’t fix the issues next season it’s a different conversation because then there’s a pattern developing.  They did win those games albeit they weren’t good performances.  Shows a lot about their character to not quit down by 17 in the 4th.  They could have easily done that and we’ve seen that under other coaches we’ve had here.  I do t know the answer to the sark play calling dilemma. You might be right.  I think Flood has to go now though. No excuse for an oline at Texas to be this bad in this era of college football.  Yea if he wants out I agree.  I don’t think anyone expects him to build statues as you say for them.  Doesn’t mean he hasn’t been invested in building this program.  The evidence speaks for itself the previous 2 seasons.

So what if Sark sees UT merely as a stepping stone back to the NFL?

Some People honestly thought his plan was to stay here the next decade plus like Mack? Some People are ready to build a statue of him in front of the stadium bc of two good seasons?

even though he absolutely and unequivocally fucked around and found out the entire offseason since January 2025? With our money? And in the process of FAFO put our QB development in the crapper and added more complications to said QB development because of a shit O-Line that Sark did nothing in the offseason to address?

And some people are mad bc the press got scoop that Sark may want to go to the NFL soon and reported what they heard? But they ain’t mad at Sark? Nah.

His wanting to go to the NFL is actually a far this more favorable explanation for his absolute asswater dogshit approach to this season than it being about his hoe of a wife running an Amtrak on our players and his maybe relapsing and skipping out on the entire offseason bc of that?

but some people ain’t mad at Sark at that? They be mad at reporters for having the audacity to insinuate Sark never was going to retire here? Makes total sense. I guess it’s funny because some have such loyalty to a dude who has none for them. It’s a business to Sark. Period.

Nice hot take.  Shows you’ve never been apart of a football locker room.  Sark might be headed for the NFL and I think it’s a fair criticism to say he didn’t do enough to fix the oline issues in the offseason. I personally don’t understand how you can let that happen in the NIL/portal era. But to insinuate that his whole time here has just been a stepping stone or ploy to get him somewhere else is baseless speculation at best.  Clearly you don’t remember the state of the program before he got here. He’s earned the right to fix the issues. To say it’s just a business to a coach like that doesn’t hold water. He’s put an incredible amount of time and effort into transforming the culture of the program.  You don’t get that from just using the team as a stepping stone.

Damn so Mack Brown has been responsible for us not getting Saban and now Meyer. Smh

I mean would you really want Meyer as the head coach at Texas?  Some things are more important than winning.  I know that’s not a popular opinion but that guy shouldn’t be allowed to be around kids again.  Period.

It's always a crap shoot when you're breaking in a new QB and OL. 5-2 and the way we're doing is hard to watch, but it's not completely unexpected.

Is it disappointing that we're not 7-0? Sure. Winning is fun. Is it the most disappointing season ever? Not even close. 1997 was the most disappointed I've ever been. 2010 is up there too. We're only halfway through this one, so I'll let it play out before I decide just how disappointing it is.

Game thread rage for me is mostly a bit. I'm too old to get really disappointed or angry about sports. But boy is it fun to hyperbolically complain on an internet message board in real time.

Lol well you’re certainly a pro at it at this point.

To add, there’s not a soul anywhere who can convince me there isn’t a qb on the roster who can’t throw it more accurately or make better decisions than Arch. If that’s the case, Sark should be fired solely based off of horrible qb talent evaluation and development (which I don’t think is the case). This is 100% Simms II (favoritism/optics) except there isn’t a proven, reliable qb on the roster who should be playing in lieu of Arch.

I see what you’re saying but I’d give up everything for Chris Simms level play right now.

Kentucky had long drives that gave them all that possession time, you stop them and you get off the field.

That’s such a tone deaf response.  You understand that when the offense doesn’t pick up first downs that the defense is out there for the majority of the game and therefore leads to fatigue, mistakes, etc…

Was the defense perfect… no.  But they absolutely won the game for Texas today.  And 2 niblett special teams returns.  The defense can only stop them so many times.

  8. 21 minutes ago, immamac said:

I rewatched it very closely. They missed big assignments and the majority of the time the pressures were coming from completely untouched defenders. They didn't get in because they were so fucking fast they couldn't touch them and they didn't shed them. It was completely protection scheme related. Engaged lineman were not getting physically handled or dominated

This team played with Ohio State the best team in the country right now and wasn't mismatched. Just because you want to talk shit doesn't mean you have fucking eyes or know what the fuck you are talking about.

They definitely didn’t match floridas physicality on either side of the ball.  Not saying they couldn’t have or it’s impossible to but they got whipped in that game.  No doubt about it.

  9. 3 minutes ago, Drifterwood said:

Maybe the distinction is that we weren’t physically outmatched, but were physically dominated because we apparently thought we could get through that one coasting on bare minimum, just going-through-the-motions effort?

This.  We went blow for blow with Ohio state but to say Florida didn’t out physical us is ridiculous.

  10. They are just soft and have been for some time now.  Sure there are a few exceptions every year but for the most part they play soft.  They give up too quickly when they get down.  They lack physicality.  It's like when they get to Texas they feel like they've made it.  You can say all day that culture isn't the problem and that it's the coaching but we are on coach 3 since mack and we keep getting the same results.

I don’t know if anyone’s taking sides.  The OL performance was pathetic…….and so was the defense

Your'e right.  They both did.  Just the majority of posts I saw lately are about blaming the qb or head coach which is understandable but in reality you won't beat anyone giving up 300 on the ground.

  12. 6 minutes ago, Snacks said:

I truly believe we could have won with a QB who just seems to understand the importance of moving the ball forward with urgency.

    We will not know.

Doesn't matter who plays qb when you give up over 300 yards on the ground.  You won't beat ANYONE doing that.

  13. 12 minutes ago, The Ace of Aces said:

if the 3rd coach can’t turn things around, it’s not a coaching issue. It’s a program issue.

Yep.  It all starts at the administrative level.  If fans keep accepting mediocrity then there's no reason to change.  They made their money.

  14. This is all hilarious that everyone is making this about the offense when the defense literally gave up over 300 yards on the ground tonight.  You will not beat ANYONE doing that.  The offense was definitely horrible too but holy shit the defense was non existent.   Especially in the 2nd half.

  15. I think Thompson will be the starter week 1 for sure but not so sure that's the case by the ou game.  I hope he is because everything I'm seeing and hearing from the kid sounds great but Card has undeniable arm talent that could cost Thompson the job.  That's the optimistic point of view at least.  They could both end up being shit but I doubt it.

You're right. Repeatedly driving drunk is much better than dealing a little pot.

It's not just dealing a little pot.  He literally had a gang member on his team and Florida had multiple sexual assault allegations against their players. College kids everywhere drive drunk because they are stupid kids.

    Okay, let’s start with...

    1) has won national championships

    Who ya got?

The only 2 coaches in the programs history that have won national titles here didn't have one before we hired them so I'm not sure  why that's your number one metric.  I personally would like to have Matt Campbell and have been pushing for that for awhile.

Look if it was joe pa or Sandusky or even briles I’d agree with you. Those guys shouldn’t be around kids anymore (two of them can’t be). But Meyer? Are you shitting me? Because he had some thugs on his WINNING teams? Does everyone forget we had Sergio Kindle driving cars through west campus apartment walls under Mack? But it didn’t matter because we were winning. How is it any different? This moral high ground bullshit is pussy shit for people who don’t like to win

Do I seriously need to explain to you the difference between a college kid who makes mistakes and drives drunk is a completely different thing than having a team with over 31 arrests in 5 years and not for "boys being boys" kind of shenanigans.  I mean he had Aaron Hernandez on his team.  Then covered up domestic abuse from one of his coaches at his next stop.  I'm not saying we didn't have a few problems here and there under Mack but comparing these 2 coaches morally is ridiculous.
