Only four tackles? That can still make a difference in a game when your opponent is no pushover.

UCF has already beaten Bama, in Tuscaloosa, no less, 40-38 in 2000. I loved it when they humiliated Auburn last year in the Whatever Bowl. Each of the P5 should have a wheel of fortune spin to pick a team to go home & home with UCF over the next couple of years, and drop a few paycheck games. Memo to UCF sports marketing wonks: get a better logo. The current one reminds me of a muffler shop.
Yes, and I went to high school with your fullback Dustin McClintock, who at the end of the game, kicked the ass of a UCF freshman who kept cheap shotting him on special teams. On the last play of the game, as they were returning the kick, he threw him to the ground, ripped off his helmet and delivered a couple punches to his face.

Barcelona is badass. Headed to Rome Friday morning and will spend six days there. Looking for one more city to spend five days after Rome, then head to London.
This, Barcelona (pronounced "Barthelona") has an amazing seafood market.

We should just bring him on the field anyway.

or just bring a shovel-load of his poop and dump it onthe side of the field wherever he would have stood.

Expand the playoff to 8.
Give non-binding preference to P5 champs and all unbeatens assuming they at least tried to schedule more than one P5. Most years it would act like an autobid but you won’t have 4 loss “champions” like this year’s northwestern team, 2005 FSU, etc squeezing deserving teams out.
Then we’d be debating whether the Michigan-tOSU loser, the OU/WV loser, or the SEC runner up gets in as #8 instead of debating which ones to screw over out of 1 loss champs from the B1G/B12/PAC or unbeaten UCF.
This setup solves basically every year except 2007 & 2008 out of the last 30.
Just take the top 8 teams. Right off the bat, that would double the intrigue of late season games that we are currently enjoying.

If I'm Hager, I tell the Big 12 that there will be no apologies as long as they are silently condoning the classless horndown gestures by players in the games.

Toledo is also a great medieval Spanish town to visit that has much of its history in tact. Southwest of Paris is Chartres Catheral that has its original 13th century stained glass windows and just north of Paris is St. Denis which is one of the original gothic cathedrals.

Flying into Barcelona on the 16th, and my flight back home is out of London on December 10th. I want to depart Barcelona on the 23rd and stay in a new city before heading to London on the 3rd. I enjoy history and architecture. First time traveling to Europe and open to suggestions.

I would skip most of the modern, bustling cities (except Paris and London) and focus on medieval centers/towns, like Bassel, Cologne, Winchester, Canterbury, Rouen, Ghent, Nuremberg, etc. In London, focus on the center part of the town around the Thames, such as Westminster, Tower of London, etc. You can also find the remnants of the medieval London wall. I have tons of London recs if you need.

i’m headed to a wedding in Santa Fe around Christmas, and the bride as asked that i help her Canadian groom “barbecue” (i.e. grill) for 40 or so guests. i get the feeling that means “please save us and save me money.”
i want to do something fairly regional, reasonably priced and delicious. my thoughts off the top of my head were spatchcock (or halve) some Cornish hens that had been marinated in a chili lime concoction and brushed with some regional adobo sauce while on the grill or the like, but i’m open to suggestions.
thoughts?
(this is not the reception dinner, btw, just a “thank you for traveling all this way to see us get married” meal)
I could consider grilling some hatch green chilies, maybe even stuffed with some sort of chicke, shrimp or cream cheese? Like a stuffed poblano pepper but with the local hatch chillies.

Loving the movie so far but quick historical question.
Recalling what I do from Braveheart, Robert the Bruce and fam kind of screwed Wallace over wanting post-war favor with King Edward. I guess they realized the Scots weren't going to win.
Fast forward to this movie. Bruce sees Wallace's mutilated body and that pisses him off enough to start another war in which the Scots are a big underdog? What am I missing?
The Bruces were simply trying to play their cards right in currying favor from Edward for the Scottish crown. Finally, Edward once remarked to Robert (in real life), "have we nothing but to win kingdoms for you?" Around 1304, Robert saw that Edward I had no intention of helping out the Bruces with re: the crown but conquering Scotland and making it a province.
Wallace and Bruce didn't really interract that much (at least not on record) but it is assumed Wallace chided Bruce after Falkirk in 1298.

It isn’t really about “granting” anything. Who pulls the numbers? That’s what it’s about. Ratings, butts in seats. Does a school deserve full and equal payouts if they can only muster 15,000 for home games vs a school that pulls 50, 60 or 100,000 every week?
and overachieving teams like UCF and Boise State are pulling in greater numbers and bringing more to the table (ie carrying more than their own weight) than P5 leaches like Utah (and Vandy an Wake Forest) who hardly anyone watches or cares about outside of the Salt Lake Valley.

They also had UNC on their schedule, postponed by hurricane. All of this "just schedule some P5 teams" is ridiculous. Last year they had Georgia Tech on their schedule as well, but that was also killed by a hurricane.
I know, I know, "Just stop having hurricanes UCF. C'mon."
Exactly, how are they supposed to schedule those solid P5 programs when those same programs avoid playing teams like UCF? Its completely set up against the G5.

That wasn't what I was referring to, you jackass. I'm sure Mack and Charlie thought star ratings were all that was needed to go by in recruiting....
