This Navy QB seems like he sucks.
Their offense is terrible because of this.

Why does the Army QB broach so low under center? Is that some sort of veer strategy?
probably to disguise the QB reads and hid his where he is looking pre-snap?

Army is going to dominate Houston in the Armed Forces Bowl
I can see this. Army won't have the ball that much. Thinking of going to this game actually.

I'm impressed with this Army defense, they are show all the signs of a well-coached unit.

Open ("compound") fractures carry higher infection risk because of exposure of normally sterile parts of the body to the unsterile world. Without knowing exactly what was done when for Smith, I am a little limited. A danger is that he was treated like someone with a sports injury when what he needed was to be treated like a trauma patient. Sports surgeons can be jealous of their players and try to manage everything themselves much like they would with an ACL tear.
An open fracture needs early (ASAP) empiric IV antibiotics and fairly early (next day actually OK in many cases, but ASAP not a bad idea) surgery. They need continued antibiotics for days after surgery, unlike the average fracture or other sports surgery. At the time of fixation, they generally should have some debridement (at least exposure and curettage) done in the zone of fracture, as opposed to the typically minimally invasive sports procedure. Bad luck can pull anyone down, but a low-energy open fracture without intrusion in a healthy, young patient is not a super-high infection risk with normal care. Sports is considered low-energy, and under 40 is pretty young still. I am guessing he had a Gustilo grade 2 open injury, for which infection rates have been documented at 2-7% among all comers.
For breaks that look like they are at higher risk of infection, a trauma trick is to put it in an external fixator for a while and come back later for definitive fixation-- I am almost certain that this was not done. There is certainly no shame in proceeding directly to internal fixation, but it can have consequences. The usual way to treat a fracture through the shaft of the tib/fib is a nail ("rod") in the tibia +/- a plate and screws for the fibula, depending on pattern/location of its break. When you have an infection in the tibia and a nail in the tibia, you have infection all the way up and down the medulla ("hollow middle") of the bone. Bad. Antibiotics won't clear an infection in bone with metal still in it.
How "bad" an infection is depends on where it is and how aggressive it is, and to a lesser degree on antibiotic sensitivities. We have antibiotics to kill the more resistant bacteria like MRSA (for now, at least); we just don't like to use them. In the bone (osteomyelitis) and aggressive enough to require cutting out affected tissue are both bad. When we don't know the bug, a common regimen now is Vancomycin and Rocephin for 6 weeks. This is IV. This can destroy kidneys. Once the hardware has been removed from his leg, the tough question becomes whether, when, and what to reimplant based on presumed progress in treating the infection.
I would be surprised to see Smith play another down of football. This looks like Tyrone Prothro redux.
Prothro almost lost his leg as well. He was certainly done with football. I wonder if Alabama is compensating him in some form?

Though I'm an old, I pay most of my bills online but still write a few checks every month. I carry some cash depending upon the situation, but most often when out pay with a credit card and then just pay the bill at the end of the month. I had heard of and was familiar with Paypal several years ago, but never had a reason to open an account. Now I hear about , and a couple of my kids use, Venmo (which paypal now owns) to pay for some things. Am I correct or close with the following:
-Paypal charges for all transactions except for paying moneys from your paypal account to someone else's paypal. A credit or even a debit card is going to get a 3% or so charge. You do have some protection with Paypal though for fraud.
-Venmo does not charge for a debit card transaction. It does charge for a credit card one though. Also, there is no protection for/from fraud. Venmo should be used only if you know the person (friend/family/FWB/etc)?
Is this basically correct? Do most people who use these things use one or the other, or have both depending upon the transaction and parties?
I'll hang up and listen. Thanks.
Venmo only charges a 1% fee if you select the immediate transfer option, otherwise its free if you choose the next day deposit option. They shut down their website so no you pretty much just have to use the app. I prefer it to Paypal as its alot easier and cheaper to use IMO.

Kyler Murray is fucking good. He was fun to watch in high school at Allen and sucks to say, but fun to watch at OU. I hope they eventually lose to Clemson but hope he takes down Bama.
Never, ever, root for OU.

Kyler leads Tua in most statistical categories when comparing quarters 1-3 only, too.
But Tua, hasn't played in the 4th qtr, had the playing time been equal Tua eclipses Kyler in all the stats but maybe rushing and number of times being spotted underneath a bridge.

And lol at anyone thinking because someone struggled at sheep fucking station, they’ll shit the bed at OU.
There are probably 3 other schools that could lay a better claim to that title with one, that hasn't been relevant for almost a decade.

What amazes me is how he's able to avoid getting viciously tackled, to the point of injury.Wait, till he plays that Alabama defense. He's seen nothing as fast and physical this season as that BAMA D.

That is correct. Just don’t want them to go to waste. I’m heading to the game at 830am, so as long as I have service I will be able to forward the email with the tickets if anyone is interested.
Are these tickets still available? Would you take $75 for both if no one else offers?

I'm still hoping for ticket prices to drop. Looking for 2 tickets.

My brother and I (both cheering for the horns) are looking for 2 of the cheapest tickets we can find if anyone knows of anything. We were hoping to wait till tonight or tomorrow morning after prices dropped but it sounds like that might not be a viable option with the transfer process?

Terry was probably my favorite Character from Reno 911. Really wish they had kept that show on.
I'll have to check it out.
It's always the week after CCG week and the day of Army vs Navy.
