No offense, but I would have opted for something on the back table...

Oh we definitely got into that too. Long afternoon…

  2. Recently tried Leroy & Lewis for the first time and had a great meal. The sausage was great as well as the kale Caesar slaw and the frito pie sides. However I was a bit disappointed in the brisket. The flavor was great, but I thought it was a bit chewy. Not bad by any means, but I thought the brisket didn’t live up to the hype.

I’ve been to Burnt Bean many times and their brisket absolutely curb stomps L&L brisket.

On that subject, I truly believe the main factor in letting go of the reins, firing Easterby and changing the culture has been Janice McNair losing her power over the organization. Whether due to health or realization that she had been hoodwinked by O’Brien and Easterby. She was the one that bought all the Bible thumping bullshit, and now she’s clearly out of the equation.

The entire McNair family prescribes to the prosperity gospel, not just Mrs. McNair. Texans fans have Hannah McNair (Cal’s wife) to thank for convincing him to dump Easterby. If she hadn’t, that Bible-thumping hack would still be running the org.

Who’s had Woodford Historic Barrel Entry? Is it worth the hype bundled at $225?

It was pretty solid. I got mine at MSRP (I think it’s around $140). What’s it bundled with?

What’d you pay for the Woodford if you don’t mind me asking.

    $139.99. MSRP at Total Wine.

    You truck following SOB.

Actually a buddy tipped me off that they dropped at his TW yesterday morning, so I went down to the store by my house and got lucky. Been on the other side all too often, so glad the Bourbon Gods delivered in my favor for once.

This new batch is unbelievable by the way. So oaky, rich and full of flavor for only 107 proof.

But sir, this is a Texas.  We don't do public education here.

One word for your 529 plans.  Utah.  The fund, not the university.  Do it, and do it now.

Do you know if you can transfer funds from another 529 plan to the Utah plan? I’ve had my son’s 529 plan set through the Texas College Savings Plan since he was born (now 9) and been underwhelmed with its performance over the years.

  8. Secondary on it is anywhere from $7500-$10k. A buddy of mine in New Braunfels got one last year and I was lucky enough to try it. It’s very good, no doubt, but we also had ER17 with it and I preferred ER17.

There's loads of that stuff on the shelves here in SA. Apparently the last price increase on it turned a lot of people off so now there's a surplus. I haven't tried it

It’s good for $65 (the original price), but not at $85/$90 (new price).

    DFW folks,
The big specs drop is gonna be 12/28 at the Irving location.

Do any other stores around the state do decent drops or do they just send everything to the big drop store?
