How do I put a poster on ignore from a mobile phone on the web site? I can’t take Phlem anymore.

Holy shit I was losing my fucking mind.

Click on the three white bars at the top right, then account, then ignored users. Copy and paste MrPhlegm into that bar, because there’s not really a search function to find users.

there is a search function I was typing it in wrong. Just type in Mr

There's nothing in the bourbon regulations that prevents charcoal filtering.

That’s the thing though. Bourbon isn’t nearly as restricted as scotch. You can be more versatile with labeling bourbon, while scotch has to follow the same distilling/filtration process for it to be labeled scotch.

Technically JD isn’t Bourbon, because of their charcoal filtering. Same with Dickel.

  3. Last night I made a great batch of Mexican rice that I’ve never really been able to perfect on the stove.

Rinse 1 cup of white rice

Sautee mode - High - 2 tablespoons canola oil. Toast rice, throw in a couple dashes of cumin, slightly toast the cumin once rice is toasted. Add like 1/2 a teaspoon each of salt, pepper, chili powder and paprika. Stir and let those seasonings bind to the rice.

Throw in 1 1/2 cups of water with a caldo de tomate mixed in by heating in the microwave. Add a small can of green chili’s. Cook on highest rice setting completely sealed with vent closed (it’s like 12 minutes) let de-pressure naturally for 5 minutes, then manually release pressure. I was drunk when I made it, but I’m pretty positive this is how I did. I’m gonna be pissed if I can’t replicate it.

I attempted to make this with chili verde in the instant pot. Unfortunately, the pork did not turn out how I wanted it to.

So, my issues with Roach thus far:

    a) Deadly fucking boring. Dude hasn't quite learned he's not actually a journalist. There's an element of storytelling and surprise to recruiting. And even trolling - EJ didn't like Texas, but him poking aggy sometimes for shits and giggles was awesome. Roach treats a CB like a cancer diagnosis and by the time he puts it in, shit's terminal.

    b) Don't give a shit about the Dallas Stars (go Sharks) or Buffalo Bills (go Texans). Even cat fancier extraordinaire EJ did a better job of keeping his Twitter generally Texas-related. Even his extracurricular nonsense was generally funny to kick around.

    c) No sources. EJ at least gave a point of view. Sure it was the world's most corrupt trainers and loudmouth recruits, but it was SOMETHING we could bat around.

    d) He's totally starstruck with the TXHSFB corches. I don't know if this is an attempt to groom sources or what, but it's kind of embarrassing at this point. He retweets them and flatters them constantly, and when one strikes it big-ish (Traylor, Jones, McGuire) he attaches himself to their dick with a quickness that would make a candiru proud.

In total, he's not very entertaining, he doesn't bring any new info, and he's attached himself to a pretty boring group of people that don't particularly like Texas football.

    And. Scene.

    Even critiquing him is boring

But good news, we'll bring in Chris Ash, a guy who's so perceptive he also hired Mehringer and got along with him. Our defense and program culture will be in great hands.

Wait, what? They worked with each other, and he even got along with him?

Dude where did you see this?? None of the OkSt fans I know in person or any I’ve seen online were happy to see him go at all. This sounds like bullshit. Not to mention the OhioSt fans don’t seem too happy about it either judging by that thread that was posted

247 / Tom Loy (ND Mod) / On Chip Long ...

    **********************

I wanted to stop by and let you guys know that I've been told without a doubt that Texas is very interested in former Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chip Long and there is plenty of mutual interest as well. I think it would be a terrific hire for the Longhorns. Sure, he's a tough coach, but one that gets results from his players.

What's up guys. Tom Loy from our Notre Dame 247Sports site over at Irish Illustrated.

Just some background info on Long, he clearly knows what he's doing, as he led the Notre Dame offense to a program record for points in a regular season with 445, which equates to 37.1 points per game. The offense was, let's just say not all that enjoyable to watch before Long's arrival. There were a lack of playmakers, the offense was somewhat stale, and they struggled moving the ball. In addition, when looking at identifying successful players or making the tough calls, it was Long that pushed to make the change at quarteback from Brandon Wimbush to Ian Book after the 3-0 start last year just to kickstart the offense. Book went on to a stellar season, the passing game flourished, and he led the Fighting Irish to a 12-0 record before the playoff loss to Clemson.

Also, Long recruited his tail off for Notre Dame this cycle (and in the past) and his results can’t be denied, as he is currently listed at No. 7 overall in the 247Sports Recruiter Rankings for the class of 2020. His recruiting chops shined this cycle and Notre Dame will benefit from his work over the past year. Long was extremely impactful and the primary recruiter for five-star running back Chris Tyree, who was at one point going to go to Oklahoma. Long and running backs coach Lance Taylor teamed up to get that done and flip things back in Notre Dame's favor. He landed arguably the nation’s No. 1 tight end Michael Mayer and secured a pledge from talented four-star tight end Kevin Bauman when the two were once listed No. 1 and No. 2 in the early rankings at 247Sports. He landed one of the most underrated wide receiver prospects this cycle in Xavier Watts, who 247Sports lists as a four-star recruit compared to a three-star on the composite rankings. He also played a big role as a secondary recruiter for other commits such as four-star wide receiver Jordan Johnson, four-star offensive tackles Tosh Baker and Michael Carmody, and four-star quarterback Drew Pyne.

It'll be interesting to see what Texas does on this front, but I know for sure that there is plenty of mutual interest here and it's something to keep an eye.

Longhorn Confidential... "Where are these Longhorns headed over the final 4 Games?"

Brian Davis, Cedric Golden and Kurt Bohls (Bowels) reveling in Herman's bad press conference and possible disaster over the next four games....  At one point Bowels sounds like he's having an orgasm he's so excited criticizing Mensa...

I'll just start this by saying I don't expect anything to get fixed, because if the coaches were going to fix the same issues we've seen pop up week after week, then they already would have. If Herman fired Orlando right now and gave the interim DC (probably Ash) two weeks to install a new, simplified scheme, then our defense could take a massive step forward to below average for the rest of the season, but he probably won't.

On offense, I've been talking about this since the offseason, but playing basically 100% 11 personnel is just stupid. We're seeing the same thing with McVay in the NFL. When you're too tied to a single personnel grouping, you can't exploit a defenses weaknesses week to week and it's too easy to figure you out.  Hell, even McVay has mixed up his personnel quite a bit more in response and their offense is improving . I was hopeful when we heard stuff about the 2 back sets in the offseason that Herman would do this, but he hasn't and we're basically just relying on Sam to be super human each week, which is a completely unfair standard to require of him.  Herman needs to spend all bye week and next offseason studying guys like Kyle Shanahan and Matt LaFleur. You don't have to run a ton of different concepts. If you run the same concepts out of a bunch of different looks, then it gives the illusoin of complexity while keeping things simple for your offensive personnel.

On both offense and defense, teams have our systems figured out. They know our keys/reads and how we'll react and are exploiting both sides of the ball accordingly. The lack of response from both sides of the ball is pretty unbelievable actually. I knew Herman was stubborn, but to see the complete absence of any kind of response to teams figuring us out is still pretty shocking to me.

Special Teams has been absolutely pathetic. Calling fair catch and actually catching it would probably have us net about an extra 300 yards on the season. I have no clue how any ST unit, even with terrible coaching, could be this bad. Shit is fucked, and ST is probably the most obvious sign of how terribly coached this entire team is. I still can't believe how far this team has fallen in such a short amount of time. It doesn't even seem possible.

The only real fixes for either side will come with a new DC, and possibly OC (if Herman were to let that OC have any meaningful say in the offense), or at least Herman spending all offseason making real changes to his offense. We'll have the personnel to run 21, 11, 12, and plenty of other variations next season, so there will be absolutely no excuse to come out and run all 11 personnel next year, but that's what I'm expecting until the coaching staff can show otherwise.

Is splitting out TE even worth it? I feel like it ruins the empty backfield set.
