Biggest turning point? It was the B-29. They only dropped two bombs. A little boy and a fat man.
Ending point maybe, but not turning point. The turning point was when the war changed psychologically. The Doolittle raid gave the US the confidence they could win and the Japanese the fear that the US wasn't the easy pushover they originally thought.
The battle of Midway gave the US the strategic advantage.
It could have been much sooner if some idiots at Pearl Harbor hadn't taken the warnings so lightly.

The most successful military strikes in history, my ass.
Let's look at what the B-17 did in WWII you fucking idiot.
The biggest turning point in WWII, certainly the war in the Pacific, was the Doolittle Raid. And that was a fleet of 16 B-25 Mitchell's.

Take a look at his wife and convince me that isn't an act of a terrorist!

There are 4 incoming Freshmen that could possibly play 3rd. I'm sure the cream will rise to the top. Even if Texas gets Lindmuth one of the Freshmen could prove to be better. I'm not concerned about Katie having to play 3rd.

I don't have a problem with killing coral snakes. My father has generally been a let all snakes go person, but when he lived in S. Texas he said he killed almost 20 coral snakes. It's just too dangerous to have them around the house when you're doing yard work and have animals. Plus, they mostly eat lizards and small snakes that help control the insect population so they don't provide much value.
My dad also knows someone that got bit by one after putting potted plants in the car. That's certainly not good.

yet we praise Sarkisian and other coaches for cutting the fat on their football rosters. The portal is here to stay and this is the new way of doing business. If my kid was a recruit these days, I'd urge her to pursue mid major teams, establish herself as a player and then transfer to the highest bidder.
I don't think that's fair to Sark at all. What fat has he cut? The only ones told to leave were dismissed for violating team rules like Cook. As JS said this, "I think the lack of overall portal success outside of the Oregon 4, Joley, Mac, Czech and Dolcini speaks to Mike's belief that the majority of his roster needs to be primarily recruited to Texas and developed by Texas."
Sark has said many times that has been and is his strategy at Texas and he only uses the portal to fill holes. There have been some that have left on their own only because they didn't want to wait their turn. And good riddance to those who think they should start without earning it.
Tech softball has 44% of their roster in the portal. That includes 6 of the 7 Freshmen. Glasco promised them they would be the future of TT softball and now he has recruited over them and said get lost. When has Sark ever even had 10% of his roster in the portal?
There's a vast difference between telling a player, "we don't think you have the talent to be a starter", vs "get lost, we got someone better from the portal".

Gasso big game hunting, allegedly has offered both Terry and Fisher out of UCLA. Already got Berzon. No development of her recruits
Grasso & Glasso want to buy a NC. The hell with you players we started recruiting 4-5 years ago. If we find someone better than you, get the hell out of here. A billion dollars can buy better players than Texas, but I think it's somewhat unethical. I hope it eventually catches up with them.

If memory serves right, we had a QB from a 3A school. Hmm... I know his name started with a C. I'm pretty sure it was Colt something or other.
I think you're right, but I never can remember his roommates name. Something like Dunkin I think. I don't know why Donuts always come to mind.
But reality is for every Colt McCoy there's 10 Mark Buchanan's. And the other reality is club softball kinda washes out the unknows because the best players all play together regardless of where they played in HS. Teagan didn't even play HS ball. I think Wells will do fine.

Maybe Texas won't be so failed in the future. Dems are turning things around and Soros has the money to do it.

Goode’s bat really did seem to come along against top pitching. Funny how consistent playing time can help that along. I doubt she jumps up to a .400 hitter next year but she’s much better than she was in her spot appearances in 2024.
and with her, vivi, and Henry back we will be good defensively up the middle- which is always good for the diamond sports. Usually catcher is included, but Atwood has her physical limitations back there. I’m sure she’ll work to get better.
She had some injury issues last year and I expected her to be better this year. Hopefully next year is even better.

It would likely depend on departures, and I really only expect players like Citlaly or Hunter to be on the way out.
We bring in a big freshman class of 7 really good players.
Roster (? means staying or going)
Pitcher - TK, Cam Salmon, Hannah Wells, Citlaly (?)
Catcher - Reese, Anne Wallace (Stewie can catch as well)
Infield - Goode, Vivi, Bennett, Brister (?), Caigan Crabtree, MaTaia Lawson, Jaycie Nichols, Aundrea Wilson
Outfield - Stewie, Henry, Maloney, Alisa Sneed
Utility - Hunter (?), Wallace (?), Rachel Wells (?)
If Cit leaves, we will likely be interested in a pitcher, and I hope we go for a lefty. We should probably aim for an OF and corner IF, since we are replacing both Mia and Joley.
I do not think we will be super active - Mike has not been the most active portal coach. Only 2 seasons has he picked up more than 2 transfer (year 1 and 2022). The transfer list is littered with busts who basically ended up giving up softball.
2019 - Burke, Elish, Iakopo and Rhodes transfer with him
2020 - Colleen Sullivan
2021 - Bri Cantu, Molly Jacobsen
2022 - Bella Dayton, Lou Gilbert, Estelle Czech, Logan Hulon, Hailey Dolcini
2023 - Baylea Brandon, Mac Morgan
2024 - Joley Mitchell
2025 - Kaydee BennettWe do need to go after someone who can DP/1B and hit above .350 at that position with power. first and foremost, because how we won the title with 3 DPs hitting under .250 is insane.
You add in the number of errors and unearned runs given up it's even more insane. I doubt if another team has ever given up as many errors and unearned runs in the WCWS at all, much less giving up so many and still winning it all.

OU has been recruiting over players for years. They seem to be doing okay.
Ou is about the only program that can do some unethical things and it never having a negative impact. But the programs trying to do the right thing need to make HS recruits well aware of who is selling them ocean front property in AZ. Tech is now taking it to a whole new level.
MW only brought in Bennett for depth and publicly stated he would not go after Canady. Tech thought they could buy a NC and failed. Nothing is better than seeing the sad faces on their players and fans. Just hope the honest coaches are doing a very good job of pointing out the dishonest.

Tech NIL in action picking up Jazzy Burns, catcher from Ohio State with 25 HRs and .455 average, but only 5'3 with 2 years left.
So what are they going to tell all the transfers and Freshmen they brought in last year waiting their turn? It seems like the Freshmen will eventually will realize if you go to Tech, you're going to get recruited over and go elsewhere.

Canady won't be tired tonight. She won't even be pitching tonight if the weather forecast is close to accurate. She'll be getting a rest up for tomorrow.
-
Last night is the perfect example of why MW will always be a bridesmaid. The 1 person in the lineup with an effort issue and has no chance of getting a hit he not only leaves in but moves her up in the lineup. At least KC got a sac fly. He also has Joley bunt. And the pitching decisions. WTF? He only puts Mac in for 2 innings but leaves a Freshman whose never been in that situation in for 3? I don’t blame Salmon because MW shouldn’t have put her in that situation. If he puts Teagan in the start the 5th Texas is probably celebrating a NC.
MW will blow it again 2nite. He’ll probably move Hunter up to lead off and leave KC on the bench. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he puts in Sophia and lets her walk in a couple of runs.
Really disgusting we’ll have to watch tech celebrate a NC tonight Texas could have won with good coaching decisions. Now Texas is frazzled and error prone and tech has all the momentum. The only way MW will ever win a NC is with a true difference maker at P. Cat has used all her eligibility and Texas isn’t getting in a bidding war to get Canady. I really appreciate this team for their hard work, effort and never give up attitude. They deserved better. Except for 1 player.

Well, Tceh has not seen as much of Kavan as we have of Canady, which I think was White's goal yesterday.
To the extent it matters, TK will be fresher than NC. I suspect NC will be a bit tired, I also suspect that it won't affect her/us too much because she's a competitor that will find another gear.
The rest is on point.
That's a pretty shitty goal if you ask me. My opinion is your goal should be to win however possible. You never know what can happen in one of these games. Just ask agroid.

I'd like to see Hunter get a chance to straighten that near HR out vs watching #3 and #4 strikeout.
She's been doing the same thing all season. What makes you think all of the sudden she's going to change? You would think by now she would know to wait another 1/10 sec before she swings.

VQ .242
KC .240
VH .237
AW .125The options just fucking suck.
It's Katie C's turn to suck. But at least she has 4 doubles, 2 triples, 4 HR. And 2 of those HR came against a top 8 finisher's pitching (Florida). And she's drawn 17 free passes (14 walks, 3 HBP) and laid down a clutch bunt in the Clemson series.
LET HER PLAY MIKE!
I have the same thought. At least she doesn't swing at bad pitches and she can get a bunt down moving a runner over. That's a whole lot better than a strike out.
