Apparently the two actually went outside and the altercation turned physical, then the agitator went to his car and got a gun. In Texas it does not matter how or who starts a fight, if you feel threatened you can respond with force if it’s reasonable. A fight with a stranger could constitute fear for life, will be interesting to see how it plays out.

This is a horrible story. Seems like he was a good guy as many here knew him. But if the shooter went to his car he could have just as easily driven off as using a gun. I don't know how he could have felt threatened much less responding to non-lifethreatening force with a gun. That doesn't seem reasonable to me.

Of course I haven't seen a video, but the accounts don't say anything about Limmer chasing him to his car.

  2. It seems to me like Vic still needs to land another inside difference maker to be competing for a FF next year. Neg me if you want, but I don't see it in Oldacre. She didn't get starting min at Miami and her stats don't indicate anything more than a replacement for Hadi, and not an equal of Gaston. Not much left to go after though.

And, of course, nobody knows how long it will be before Rori is back in form. I remember it took Lashann 2 years.

Move him to Sunday starter. He can probably win that game.

This team would need an act of God to win a regional.

Depends on the opponent. If they suck no doubt Texas will give up 10 walks and shit the bed. If they're good Texas just might win it.

Sometimes Jak looks like she’s never touched a basketball before lol

I may get the fu for saying this, but I'm gonna be honest about it. I hope to see her in the portal. She has double to triple the turnover rate per minute played as S & S and Gisella and worse than Maddie. Maddie has a whole lot of reasons that are legitimate reasons for a high turnover ratio. Jak is a sophomore, she does not. When Jak came in is when Gonzaga made a run, and that seems to be the case every game. A rash of turnovers and stupid fouls is how you let a team back in the game and end up losing. I just think Texas will have better options either with Freshmen or portal players.

So Biden is raising $25 million today... more in a day than Trump has raised in a month:

    https://apnews.com/article/democrats-election-2024-fundraiser-new-york-ebfbc81d3b70f38745ae00c7ce6a382d

A fundraiser for President Joe Biden on Thursday in New York City that also stars Barack Obama and Bill Clinton is raising a whopping $25 million, setting a record for the biggest haul for a political event, his campaign said.

Obama and Clinton are helping Biden expand his already significant cash advantage over Trump. Biden had $155 million in cash on hand through the end of February, compared with $37 million for Trump and his Save America political action committee.

The $25 million tally for the New York City event includes money from supporters who handed over cash in the weeks before the fundraiser for a chance to attend. It’s raising $5 million more than Trump raised during February.

I personally think that the money aspect in political campaigns is obscene and gross and seems to mean as much bragging about how much money UT athletics earns, but ground his ass into dust, Joe.

The rich will always win and the repubs are dumb and broke.

  6. I didn't like Portland to begin with and I certainly don't like it now. The distance from Spokane to Portland is about the same as Dallas to SA, and students at a small private school I'm sure will travel better than UT students. And I'm sure there's a lot of Gonzaga alum that end up in Seattle down to Portland. I just hope there's a significant number of UT alumni in that area also.

In what world is Dark Side not a concept album? I’ve never heard that questioned. The Wall is more explicitly so but Dark Side is an icon of a concept album. One of the most important albums of all time

Some others: Frank Zappa - Joe’s Garage; Moody Blues - In Search of the Lost Chord; Spirit - 12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus (awesome album despite the concept being poorly defined).

Give me Quadrophenia over Tommy all day every day. I’m not disputing Tommy as a concept album but it just doesn’t do it for me like Quadrophenia. That’s a masterpiece.

I don’t know if it counts but my parents had a copy of Peter & The Wolf when I was a kid and that was part of my musical foundation. They didn’t have much in the way of good music but that was a good one. They also had the soundtrack to West Side Story. That’s just a play. But so is Peter & The Wolf, right? And so are Quadrophenia and Joe’s Garage and The Wall, right? Labels are useful when talking about music but they can get fuzzy on the edges. I think we can safely say the West Side Story soundtrack is not a concept album.

But how about this? I used to have this on vinyl. A college roommate bought it on CD. It’s pretty good.

I haven’t read the whole thread. I see the Styx mention but I’m not sure which album you’re talking about. I assume Kilroy Was Here? That counts but I don’t think it was executed very well. I think Paradise Theater was the better effort. I haven’t listened to it in a long time but I still own that one. And I saw them live on the Kilroy tour. That was one of my first three concerts. I think it was my third after Rush and REO Speedwagon. It was a good show.

You have 26k posts and you don't know some people here question everything?

Good post on WOTW. It completely slipped my mind and it's a great work. Especially with Justin Hayward. And speaking of which, The Moody Blues probably have a number of albums that would qualify. I'd put Days of Future Passed and To Our Children's Children above ISOTLC. ISOTLC has the bigger hit, but personally, I like TOCC better overall.

And interesting, REO was my first concert ever.

    Speaking of, here's my pet:

4-year old American Pit Bull Terrier, named Brea, adopted from Operation Kindness in December 2022. Brea was a fatty then but she's gotten the weight down thanks to a controlled, low-protein diet. She's also completely deaf and fairly nearsighted, at least enough to where she only plays fetch indoors (always thinks I'm gonna throw the ball too far in the park).

She's also affectionate as hell, playful, and very well behaved.

Anyways, those stupid Karens on the pit bull thread are about as clueless and ignorant as it is possible to be.

They should watch the episode of Pit Dogs and Paroles with Micheal Griffin. In fact, they should watch a number of those episodes. I've volunteered at the animal shelter for a long time and I've had Chihuahuas, Terrriers, French Bulldogs bite me, and Great Danes try. But the only thing all the hundreds of Pit Bulls I walked ever did was want to sit in my lap and lick me to death.

I know people will say, "well a Chihuahua won't hurt you". Well, a Great Dane sure will.

There are certainly some rotten Pit Bull owners though.

Ayoka Lee has somehow only committed 57 personal fouls in 25 games (669 minutes) - so roughly .08 fouls per minute
Crooks has committed 67 in 30 games (764 minutes) so roughly .09 fouls per minute

    For comparison:

Taylor Jones 81 fouls in 29 games (595 minutes)  - .13 fouls per minute
    Gaston 42 fouls in 20 games (366 minutes) - .11 per minute

    But I wouldn't call her Lee 2.0 yet - she's only 6'3 and a freshman.  Lee is 6'6 and 23 years old

You can call her what you want, but I'll call her King Kong. And King Kong can even shoot 3's, as can every player on their team. They get hot with 3's I don't think Texas can hang. I wouldn't mind seeing some zone to avoid the screens that leave them wide open for 3's but I know Vic won't do that.

Vic was interviewed during the KSU-WV game and said something like “we'll work on 3-point shooting in the summer, but, it's too late to change things this late in the season”

We are winning with inside and Booker’s pull-up game so I dont see him going away from that in game #33

Texas is 1-3 vs the teams most likely left to play in the B12 (if Texas wins tonight) so we are not winning against our toughest competition. And that's a big if since it's basically a home game for the cats. Shaylee dropping some 3's would do wonders to help open the inside for Taylor, Aliyah and Deyona.

  11. I'll go with The Wall if Dark Side of the Moon isn't considered a concept album. That's debatable. Tommy has to be near the top also. Interesting all 3 were pretty close together in time given the history of music.

And I was going to post the same as JJ even before I saw his post. I like Styx, but damn that thing sucks.
