Well, this confirms that my life is a failure. Woe is me. I'm gonna go hang out with Eeyore, maybe he can cheer me up.

It's "whoa" BTW. I normally wouldn't be sensitive to such inconsequential things but this board seems really touchy when it come to grammar.  Just a friendly warning  or the grammar hall monitors might make you kneel in rice as penance.

You are really struggling with the English language today. You said "some" where you should have said "most" if you wanted to be accurate.

The LSU OL could not physically move the GSU DL. Your OL was completely gassed in the first quarter. I'm not sure if you should hope that they were or weren't exhausted. If they were then, well, their conditioning sucks. If they weren't then, well, they are not as strong as the Georgia Southern DL.

If LSU OL lost "most" of the battles against GSU, GSU would have won the game.  You don't lose "most" of the  battles and win a game much less deliver a beat-down where the game is effectively over before the end of the first quarter.

Nobody has said our rb depth is a strength, at least not seriously.

Your 5 rbs combined for 3.8 ypc against Georgia community college and tire repair. Does that mean they all suck, only some, or your line sucks?  In no way does it show strength.

I love the problem of abundance of riches. But focus on the 3.8 ypc stat and totally ignore the 8.8 yard per reception for the RBs (which are essentially <5 yard hand-offs).

LSU called running plays against Georgia Southern from a Youtube video that started with 10:23 remaining in the first quarter. Focusing on the OL.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA4wbM8TT0g#t=16 - LT pushed back a yard by GSU DE, LG chicken wings one LB then chicken wings another, C engages DT and eventually falls to the ground after his hold is unsuccessful, RG achieves a stalemate with other GSU DE utilizing the classic holding technique that isn't called these days (so it's a decent strategy, not slamming him), RT plays patty cake with LB, TE has LB pinned on the play due to alignment and blitz but somehow lets the LB get away and make the tackle. Verdict - Shitty blocking by LSU OL. All 3 DL for GSU end up on the LSU side of the LOS after being engaged by LSU OL.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA4wbM8TT0g#t=45 - LSU pulls out a gimmick play against Georgia Southern. LT actually successfully blocks GSU DE, LG stumbles then misses then pats LB on the pack, C blocks DT, LG pulls and picks up LB blitz fairly well, RT doesn't have much to do but does it well. Verdict - Most guys blocked well but LG's incredible slowness  in getting to the second level should have resulted in a loss on the play but RB is too good for GSU.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA4wbM8TT0g#t=111 - GSU not set at the snap, results in actual good push from right side of LSU line and a good gain. Congratulations to the Tigers. A scrum sort of forms, and of note the scrum does not move forward for LSU.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA4wbM8TT0g#t=135 - GSU kind of gets set this time. Two 1-on-1 battles at the LOS result in zero push from the LSU OL. However, the LG does successfully turn the GSU DT thanks to a solid grip/hold on the dude's left shoulder. Makes it pretty easy to turn a guy who has physically stood you up if you can just pull him around like that. Solid strategy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA4wbM8TT0g#t=157 - Holy shit this one is funny. GSU defense and LSU OL are exhausted. This is with 8:18 left in the first quarter. Both sides just stand up and lean on each other. Well, except for LSU's RG #68 who I think is attempting a cut block but essentially just falls face first onto the ground. It's not as funny once you see that the RT stepped on his foot, so don't notice that part. Instead just laugh. But seriously, look at the rest of the line. They all just stand up and lean on someone. Dee Anderson #10 lines up at TE I guess so they can hurry up. Why he lines up there instead of splitting out I don't know because all he does is stand up, put his hands on a guy, then fall down. Also, it's the most impressive block of the play.

After a 2 minute drive 7 minutes into the game the LSU OL is exhausted. Their run blocking doesn't get appreciably better from there. I'm not going to do the rest of the game because I got bored, but here's one from their next drive. Y'all can summarize for yourselves.

So you're saying that losing teams even in a beat-down win some one on one battles throughout the game.  Good to know.

Let's talk about the actual game baws.  How many times is Sam going to have to throw it since ya'll don't have a running back?  I find it funny that I saw LSU having 5 running backs as a weakness

You have to understand UT logic.  LSU rotating 5 talented RBs is a weakness and UT having one legit RB starter and a converted LB and QB to RB as backups is a strength.

I don't think you're as bad as the last few LSU posters/trolls we've had around here, so I'm going to help you out:

    Goodbye, and good luck.

That was actually a pretty good breakdown but a few counter points:

The LSU running game: it will be much improved from last year.  Last year we had CEH and Broussard.  Broussard sucked by LSU RB standards and CEH does not have breakaway speed. Last season we never had that breakaway RB like previous years (Hill, Fournette, Guice).   We have that this year in Davis-Price and Emery but I don't expect to see much of these freshmen until the second half of the season as they become more proficient with the playbook.   With that said CEH is very effective between the tackles.  He reminds me of Pierre Thomas who retired d from the Saints and played at Illinois.

Don't discount Burrow's low passing completion percentage last year.  Much of that had to do with being smart with the ball and trowing it away when there were no open receivers. His passing percentage will be improved this year because the offense we are running now is something similar to OSU...an offense that Burrow was very familiar with.

Of course it wasn't a genuine question to inform. The first clue is that it wasn't even a question, it was a statement.

You're not very bright. I feel sorry for you. It would be one thing if your only demonstration of slow thinking on this thread was missing the tone of the OP, but now you have shown you don't even know the difference between a question and a statement. This is sad man. Really sad.

So what do you think about the the game this weekend between LSU and UT?

Huh? The official name of LSU is Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. Nobody is talking about the clown college in College Station. I would ask if you really didn't know the real name of your school, but I think we all know the answer already.

Of course we know the full the name of LSU.  The question didn't even deserve a genuine response because you know it wasn't a genuine question to inform and the fact that LSU is an A&M college has zero bearing on the game Saturday.   However in the context of surlyhorns.com responding to an OP that is trashing LSU it's an obvious attempt to belittle LSU like you belittle your former cross state rival.

  9. There is a lot of BS in your post and little substance.  How do you feel about match-ups?

    LSU O-Line versus UT D-Line?

Will UT's backup RBs have the smarts to recognize and pick up Dave Aranda's blitz packages?

You know that 2nd TD pass in the LaTech game by Ehlinger gets picked off by LSU DBs, right?

How do you feel about UT DBs matching up with LSU WRs?

I hope Herman's game plan it to test our freshman corner Stingley.  Do you realize Stingley played on the 7 versus 7 circuit since eight grade against your wide receivers?  The point is, he knows them already. Oh, and please kick to Stingley on punts.

How to feel about our DL matched up against your OL?  Do you realize that our NT Tyler Shelvin is playing himself into a 1st round pick in a couple of years and he is backed up by two very talented freshman in Ika and Evans. Furthermore the depth at NT has allowed Fehoko to move to DE in Aranda's 3-4.

I also don't think you realize the depth LSU has at LB.  You will know the name "Jacoby Stevens" by the end of the game.
