How pathetic that we are playing 11am on T+1, and we don't have a rival worth scheduling that day.

Its a TV rating and butts in seats thing.

Without the draw of Aggie most neutrals would rather watch NFL than a mediocre TX VS Tech game and some (but enough) local fans wouldn't want to upend Thanksgiving for that game either

    The day is young.

Injuries and plague and VAR against us and still only one point off the top.

That Jota buy is looking better day by day.   Maybe once Salah comes back we can slot him in at CB?

This is going to be a really challenging time for the ski towns in the North East.  So much more of their business is based on day tickets than out west.  You just don't plan a major vacation or fly half way across the country to ski VT on a predetermined date.  Vermont and New Hampshire also haven't been hit as hard as Boston and NY/NJ COVID wise- their two main markets.  Will the state officials shut everything down if they see a spike this winter?  I guess the NY resorts could see increased demand to avoid quarantine restrictions by the NY/NJ/CT skiers.

Folks were worried about the same stuff when Obama was elected. I remember, I paid MSRP for an R-25 in  .243 (Remington's camo version of an AR-10) because it was the only AR type rifle I could find and they were definitely going to bam them. Anybody care to guess what happened under the Obama administration? Gun rights actually expanded on the national level. Turns out there was more important stuff than losing senate races in rural areas that happened to have democratic senators. I can't really say the same about this administration.

Biden has too many issues at the top of his list  than to drastically mess with gun control and ensure that he can't get anything done in the future.

The political landscape has changed drastically in the past decade+.   Most of the moderate Democrats that defended the 2nd Amendment back then have been purged or retired out of the party. Democrats have given up on the rural and working class vote.  They see their electoral success with the "suburban Mom" and highly (mis)educated white professionals.  Those two groups see "common-sense" gun restrictions as a core priority.

Joe Manchin is probably  the only reliable Democratic Senator not to vote to gut our Constitutional rights.  That is much slimmer than in 2008 when you had probably 4 or 5 Democratic Senators that supported the 2nd Amendment.

It's even worse in the House when there is only 1 Democratic fully supports the 2nd Amendment.

So those laws are going to be passed in the House if Biden wants them or not.  The question is will Manchin and Biden spend political capital to fight their own party?

  5. Kohli will only play in the first test in Australia because he wants to be back home for the birth of his child.  Because of the COVID quarantine restrictions he won't be able to make it back for the last three tests.  He is playing in the limited over matches before the tests.

The tour is 4 tests and 3 ODIs and 3 T20s.  That's a long time to be in a COVID bubble.

The caption that went along with this screen cap, "boys, we rolled em for 31 so we better get a 1400 lead just to be safe. U never know what they might knock up in the second innings."

At least Salunke picked up his run rate in the second innings...if your looking for positives.  :D

  7. The Economist is no longer "center-right".  It started drifting away from it's roots during Micklethwait's leadership on both the editorial front and the focus of the paper's news stories.  Yes it is still free-trade, but it is much more amenable to big government these days.
