Question for the knowledgeable Surlies: if Tennessee negotiates a buyout of Pruitt, seemingly freeing him up to coach elsewhere, how long would the hiring institution need to wait before learning if the NCAA is going to slap a show cause on him?
If Tennessee pays a buyout is means their internal investigation couldn't find any grounds for firing with cause. If their internal investigation with such high incentives (a 12 mil buyout) couldn't find anything it is highly unlikely the NCAA would either.

do we like this? I haven't really watched Georgia to be quite honest.
https://247sports.com/coach/Dan-Lanning-3823/He is a really good recruiter but he has way less experience than Golding at DC. It feels like a little bit of a risky hire to me, but he is a nice compromise between Tosh and Golding

Never understood why GDGD insisted on majority of stop routes. You have your receiver catch the ball with his back to the defense and then go from standing start and break tackles for YAC.
Happens sometimes but not often enough.
Crossing and hitting guys on the move seems like a much better base passing game.
Hitting guys on the move sounds great, however, like Sark mentioned it all depends on personnel. It is much harder for a quarter back to hit a WR mid stride than a standing still target.
Also, if you have 6’4 WR that runs a 5.0 40 it’s going to be hard for him to run away from the defender, but he can high ball a pass on a shorter CB with a curl.
It all works just depending on personnel. Herman refused to change his offense for different personnel. Best example at UT of adapting to personnel is Shaka smart atm.

Roach also teasing big news
This is a meme where the guy (Soulja boy) says “he stole my flow” in reference to a different rapper trying to copy his style.
It’s more a gif of frustration than excitement.

Sark is going from Miami to Austin tonight after the game, and I will bet everyone leaving Bama for Texas will be with him.
Airport stakeout anyone?

Based on IT’s clearly faulty info it looks like we are either keeping Ash or getting Arnett.
I think it’s either going to be CO-DC’s Ash/Tosh or CO-DC’s Arnett/Raymond.
But IT has been wrong the whole time. Just as likely Charlie Strong comes back as DC.

SIAP. Does this help or hurt with Raymond?
The offer is reported as close to 2 million so I don't expect LSU has much more money to throw at Raymond. I say it helps.

Exactly. The FootballScoop article mentioned "Sources tell FootballScoop that Sark has made a very strong offer to bring LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond to Texas." This implies we are either throwing money around $1M mark or money + title elevation)
I am surprised he only made $575K in 2020. Seems like Texas could throw $900K-$1M to him and it would be a no brainer. Gets out of an uncertain situation and it paired with a new, legit staff.
It would be awesome to bring in Raymond for CB. Let Gideon have S, throw a Co-DC tag on Raymond, and let him spearhead recruiting on the defensive side of the ball. Bring in a more X's and O's guy as the play calling DC.
Near criminal for Raymond to be making less thank 800k a year given today's salaries.

Also does Raymond want to work under a guy like Freeman or Arnett?
I can not imagine the feasibility of trying to recruit over a guy like Raymond without a DC already hired. Raymond could go anywhere why would he risk going to Texas with an uncertain DC?

First time posting but the McRibs in the Urban Meyer or Bust convinced me to sign up.
I would be surprised if it is Goulding, but I would be more surprised if the DC hasn’t already been picked given the defensive hires. It is almost like the 9.95ers have a schedule for releasing one staff name a day until the DC is announced. Keeps interest peaked.I have a hard time seeing Bo Davis coming to the work for a DC who only has 3 years of DC experience (Arnett). I think it’s safe to assume the DC is not a rising “star”.

If the only thing we get by joining the SEC is never hearing another broadcast with Emmanuel Acho I will be happy.
