Oh if you are in SA we can go to Jim’s for coffee at 7 am for coffee? I’m an old fuck also but my girlfriend is 20 years younger!

All of you talking about registration. You haven't experienced anything like the 60s in Gregory Gym. It was hot. It was crowded. Sometimes waiting from Monday morning until Friday afternoon for a closed class that you wanted to open up. Afraid to even go to the RR in fear that it might open and then close again while you were taking a piss. That was the real back in the day.
If you did 60’s why are you up
at 7:30 pm? It’s way past your bedtime.

I mean we have a track record now of getting production late in one’s career. I’m buying at this point!

In 2005 I knew we were going. There was no way we weren’t. In 2008. It never felt like it. But we should have went everyone knows that. 2009 of course we belonged we weren’t prolific but we got there. 2023 I would have never assumed we would have a national championship appearance possibility. Losing a generational player in Bijan had me thinking that. Let’s continue this improbable run and make fucking heads turn. Cmon boys. One time
Speaking of generational losses we lost Derrick Johnson and Cedric Benson after the 2004 season and I remember thinking we’re screwed in 2005 ,but we did ok! Hopefully, this is an omen.

In the Texas RB room, each man waits his turn to shine and then it's "next man up!" Each RB gets enough exposure to the NFL for scouts to see what he has but doesn't get worn down getting 1200 touches over his college career, like Cedric Benson did.
And Foreman!

D'Antre Robinson said he isn't sure what he told On3's Florida guy about telling Florida he wasn't sure if he'd make it to another game.
This sounds like one of my relationships where I confronted her and she says she doesn’t remember what she told the other guy

Panchos? You were doing it wrong. 2 for 1 chicken fried steak at the Stallion on Sunday nights. Bottomless margs at the 4 or 5 Jorge's around town (mine was the Riverside).
I was at UT early 80’s. I think there was one Jorge’s in town and menu stated maximum margs at 2. I think it was Everclear?. I think it was South Congress? Anyway ,only restaurant I was thrown out because my friend got so drunk he fell backwards in his chair and hit other patrons. Come to think of it he also totaled two cars I was riding in and got me in several fights on several occasions. I don’t pick friends well that’s why I’m on Surly!

Two more years, they'd be half my age. And I still wouldn't want them to display pre-pubescent groin areas.
38 plus 2 equals 40. I always thought you were younger than 80?

I will give Sark lots of credit for his pre-season press conferences. He's more open than most head coaches and his answers show he's thought through some of the team/org/mental issues and he's not just doing something because that's how he was taught under LaVell Edwards or Norm Chow. Seems like that's a rare trait among football coaches.
He does appear to have more self awareness than Sidney and his partner CTJ. Very strong management of roster deficiencies and great in recruiting. Strong CEO presence and if he was launching a company to go public I would buy at this point. This year I think performance will exceed pro forma so I bought in. My apprehension after transferring funds for investment is how will he deal with real time unanticipated events game day? I’m optimistic I’m getting 10 plus wins return on investment maybe 11 regular season.

This team has to prove it can stop the run again before I will predict anything. The edges of the defense (DE, OLB) are not proven.
I hear you on that concern. I believe the adjustments with Burke and Sorell and situational adjustments of Collins and Hill will address that issue. It does appear staff acknowledges this weakness and at least have a plan. I’m going with buy not sell at this point!

You’re dense. I’m not limiting his potential based on his recruiting rankings, I’m limiting the expectations based on where the player started.
Remember when we were excited about Kyle Porter? We have come a long way and I’m sharing perspective!

The offense isn’t gameplanning, the number of true play calls to learn is far fewer on defense, defense has probably seen the bread and butter offensive plays 20x a week during practice, etc.
Only program I can recall recently where I routinely read about the offense dominating the defense in scrimmages was Riley’s OU teams and we know how those defenses turned out.
I totally agree. I would be concerned if the offense was dominating at this point. Defense is very familiar with the same offense they practice against weekly for months during the Spring and Fall as opposed to an offense they see once a year with one week preparation.
Another thing I’m encouraged about is the “Saban recruiting pitch” which is with the talent and roster upgrades, the offense is now practicing against talent better than what they will play during the season except maybe Alabama. The offense will be fine.
I’ve been following Texas football since like my first game in 1970 against TCU and have experienced all the cycles the past 50 years. During that period , I haven’t looked more forward to a season except 2006 maybe 1983 when I was a senior at UT. I’m convinced this is a playoff team. If we get past Alabama, I don’t see another loss.

Reminds me of the one about never asking a man where he’s from. If he’s from Texas, he’ll tell you. If he’s not, you don’t want to embarrass him.

I have no idea what Ohio State leadership was thinking in that hiring process? Let’s go pursue AD at the most mismanaged program in the history of college athletics. Maybe CDC’s phone number is a digit off and they misdialed? I can’t explain this nor can anyone else.
