In Oklahoma City, Adrián González, Nick Swisher and Jocelyn Alo are three of the key players scheduled to participate. Other players scheduled to participate in Oklahoma City include Tiare Jennings, Kinzie Hansen, Amanda Lorenz, Kasidi Pickering, Ella Parker and Reese Atwood.

Time to poke some fun at the Aggies. Since 2021, they have finished 18th, 25th, 24th, and 6th. This year they will finish around 10th. With all of their resources, they are definitely under performing.

Just curious has our win been verified by a non-UT related source who independently did the score calculations?

USC is in 1st as they expected to be. Arkansas or A&M could possibly pass them based on the 4x400 relay.
Wow. USC almost lost the title by finishing in 8th. A&M finished 2nd in the relay, and they share the title. So I'm not sure if USC loses 5 points because they shared the title and average the scores for 1st and 2nd. -

Only one sprint team did not make it to the finals. They had the 9th fastest qualifying time and finished 12th. They would not have been projected to score team points as only the top 8 score.

All of our individual and team sprinters are competing today in semifinal heats. Sprint finals are on Friday, as well as the high jump and triple jump finals. Results can be seen in the link below. I goofed in including Texas Tanner as one of our participants in the discus and hammer, as he competes for another school.

Men's track participants in championships (where ranked in prelims)
Xavier Butler, 200M, 8th fastest
Kendrick Smallwood, 110M hurdles, 1st
Kody Blackwood, 400M hurdles, 1st
4X100 relay, 3rd
4X400 relay, 6th
Osawese Agbonkonkon, 17th, but his height is very close to 1st
Kelsey Daniel, triple jump, 5th
Texas Tanner, discus, 11th
Texas Tanner, hammer, 4th
We need to finish 13th or better to match our expected points. Last year, 13th place scored 19 total team points. Last year, we finished 12th and scored 20 total team points. Texas won the decathlon and had a 5th place finish and 2 6th place finishes to score the 20 points. If Texas can do well in the hurdles, relays, and hammer, then we have a good chance to place better than 13th.
Quoting a prior post of mine now that the track tournament starts tomorrow, so we can see names to follow.

This well get you guys upset. I think basketball costed us 20 points by not winning the play-in game. And men's basketball is a mandatory scoring sport and can't be replaced by a higher score in another sport.
-
Here are some combinations of men and women track finishes that win us the cup, in terms of place: 10 and 21, 11 and 19, 12 and 18, 13 and 16, 14 and 15.

Though I can't always match DC update's scores exactly, he did get USC soccer right. They lost in the quarterfinals and scored 73 points. That's already in the score release of the Fall sports. Looks like an official update is coming out tomorrow that will reflect everything except baseball and T&F.

Just started raining at my house in OKC suburbs. The weather was kind to us to wait a few hours.

I live in OKC. KOCO is our local channel. They will post videos regarding more specific timing of the rain. This morning they said 20 percent during the early part of the game.

To be honest the Aggies have won occasional championships in the minor sports, and none of us thought twice about it or even knew it happened. I doubt the casual Aggie fan is even aware. Who knew that they won women’s tennis last year?
If they can help us win the director’s cup, I’m all for it. -
I usually like Beth but it’s time to put her out to pasture and promote Amanda Scarborough to lead, with Michele and Jess and Holly. Amanda is good, for an aggy
Just please god not Courtney Lyle
I rewatched the highlights of Reese’s hit. Did you hear Beth goof up and say she got a hit to pitch?-

Good luck to the ladies tonight! Won’t be able
to watch game as my older son’s HS graduation is tonight.
Hook ‘em!!!
I’m actually local to OKC. I really wanted to watch the Horns, but my dad went into the hospital. We’re going to watch it together from his room.-

I didn't know this before today, but the men and women were ranked #5 and #2, respectively, in the first week's rankings. They both had a larger drop in the rankings in the 3rd week. I don't follow the teams, so I don't know what happened. In contrast, there are examples of teams initially ranked between 100 and 200, who improved and made it into the top 20.

Though we may never do it again in our lifetimes, we need to root for the Aggies to beat USC in track. Aggies ranked 2nd compared to USC 1st in men's track. Aggies ranked 2nd compared to USC 3rd in women's track.

OSU saves our bacon and finishes off USC 9-0. TCU could have helped our cause by beating USC in the first game, but they got blasted.

That’s the plus or minus of being a highly ranked team before the competition. You’re expected to win a lot of points, but could score less than the projection. I think USC’s track teams are 1 and 4. So if that team doesn’t win the championship, they underperform.

7 or 17 additional points if we finish 2nd or 1st.

The odds weren’t in our favor. One of our lower ranked players versus one of their best.
