And yet he still defends that orange ass guy who could care less about him. Rudy had the world on a string and blew it. Massively.   Bigly.

Had my bone marrow transplant on 8/1 to hopefully take care of my AML. I spent about 30 days in the hospital, recovering, and then another 70 days in an apartment near the hospital, basically quarantining (even from my kids) and recovering. I was at MDA and my family was in Austin. I had a friend or family member around 24/7 to monitor me.

Got home 11/3 and feeling pretty good. Bloodwork looks fine (a few things here and there) and the 90-day post-transplant marrow test was negative, even at the granular levels the new tests get into. Next marrow test is at 180-days, so hopefully that’s clear. I think that tells more than the 90-day. I’m on a maintenance chemo drug and a handful of others, but otherwise not much to do right now but wait.

Shockingly, my very safe doctor gave me the green light to go to the NC at NRG if we get there, though he did question my sanity that we would make it (his wife is a big Mich fan).

Hope everyone else is getting through.

Hope that's still going well.  My oldest had a bone marrow transplant for AML in Feb '21, with the quarantine and low dose of chemo.  In remission since Feb '23.

I'm at Midnight Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral, and ole Rudy just sat down.

I have something rattling my head around about a special offering, but it's still pretty nebulous.

The coaching carousel in college football is about to start spinning as the 2023 season comes to a conclusion later this month and athletic directors across the country make decisions on their respective football programs and who the head coach should be. Two Power 5 jobs are already open in Michigan State and Northwestern and more will likely open in the weeks to come. On Wednesday, there was a social media report from a Michigan-based radio host that speculated Leipold interviewed with Michigan State on Tuesday.During his weekly Hawk Talk radio show on Wednesday, Lance Leipold shot down the rumor and stated his commitment to KU with a similar comment to one he's made in the past."This is the only interview and that's the way it's going to be," Leipold said. "The one thing that happens this time of year, is there's a lot of speculation and things that are happening that are not accurate. As I've said for a long time, Travis Goff and Chancellor Girod have treated Kelly and I extremely well and our family. It is our plan and our expectation that we want to be here and this is going to be the last job that we have."Leipold said he spoke with Kansas AD Travis Goff earlier this week about his first two and a half years at KU since he was hired in the spring of 2021. "I was talking with Travis Goff on Monday and he said 'Can you believe it's only been two and a half years.' I said, well in many ways it feels like five or more because of the progress of the team on the field but also how comfortable our family is, being welcomed by everybody and how much we just enjoy being here," Leipold said.Leipold has led a swift turnaround during his firs three seasons as head coach. KU went 2-10 in his first year after Leipold was hired after spring practice in 2021. Fall camp was the first time Leipold and his staff were able to work with players in an official capacity. KU endured a long losing streak before the Jayhawks upset Texas for the program's first ever win in Austin. In Year 2, KU started off 5-0 and hosted ESPN's College GameDay for the first time. An injury to Jalon Daniels contributed to KU's struggles in the second half of the season, where KU went 1-6 but achieved bowl eligibility for the first time since 2008.In 2023, KU has been a more consistent team. KU started the season off 4-0 and is now 7-2 on the season, with KU defeating Oklahoma and Iowa State in the last two weeks. The win over Oklahoma was KU's first this century and its win over Iowa State was its first since 2008.In an interview with reporters on Wednesday, Goff said he believes the KU program is set up for long-term success under Leipold."You're always trying to make sure you can dissect and understand, is this just a great moment? Or is this something that can be great for the long haul? And I think these past couple of weeks really indicate this is something that can be great for the long haul."

I blame her, Pat Benatar, and Siouxi Banshee for my abiding, juvenile love for brooding brunettes, who only look like they'll stab you.

My luck? I somehow fell for a tall, blonde, blue-eyed Aryan who thrust a knife, piercing my poor heart and breaking my soul.

    Def stabby.

Ok folks, here it is, the Government's Response to Trump's motion to dismiss the DC indictment on the grounds of presidential immunity.

No court has had the opportunity to consider this question, and, our interest in Trump suffering manifold consequences for his mopery and cuntery, this is one of the bigger constitutional questions lying out there unresolved.

A little bit delicious to have Barr and Kavanaugh cited.

Absolutely amazing book. I read it this past summer. I had never heard of any of that until my wife told me to read it after her she read it for her book club.

This, along with the Tulsa massacre and all the lynchings going on back then, should be an entire unit in every HS US history class.

And yet I was 5 years past my required OK history class before learning of Greenwood and black Wall St.  Improper subject matter for those 13 yo minds apparently.

How would a Senate majority leader with balls deal with Tuberville? I don’t know what reprisals Chuck Schumer has at his disposal but his inaction on this makes him look like a pussy. Can’t he at least relocate his office to the basement next to the boiler room steam pipe distribution venue or something?

    fixed for West Wing-edness

I sell this stuff for a living. The only thing those lanyards will stop is him hitting the ground. If he fell connected like that, he would die from a broken back or massive internal organ damage.

Yep, just makes it easier for S&R to find the body.

You and I were the bookends on that front row.  I was at the far end, dressed like a lawyer.  It really was an amazing discussion, and I wished it could have gone on longer.  I didn't stay for a photo, probably should have, but then, I've always made a point of deliberately NOT being a celeb-fawner (except for, you know, Susanna Hoffs).

Susanna Hoffs, you say?  Do tell.

Yes, I'm aware.  Just here to tee things up.
