Happy for those kids! Congrats on the program getting their first bowl trophy! It’s nice to see Texas State is starting to build a decent program for the Sun Belt conference that can actually compete and that they’re not a punching bag anymore. Also my BIL is a Texas State alum  and he told me if they won the game he was skipping work tomorrow. I’ll text him in the morning to see if he’s true to his word

Who the fuck works this week?

    Texas State grads

  2. There are quite a few select coaches that are over the top win at all costs type.  Don’t understand how the parents let them scream at their kids and shout them down in front of everyone over minor mistakes, rather than teaching them the right way in a positive manner.  Played a Canes team yesterday where the coach was like that - overly intense, mistakes made were life & death…trips to the mound he would be pointing demonstrably at a kid the entire walk, then chewing them out once he got there.  Same coach  had the game called 8 minutes early to help their seed (our team was up 3, but we had the bases loaded with no outs, so he had it called to prevent more runs from scoring.  He could have tried to get out of the inning quickly and we had time for another inning.)

We’ve been lucky to have very good, positive coaches for all but one season.  The season that went awry the coach was not retained but it was too late - all but 2 of the kids changed teams.

I saw that. Last weekend was a one time deal. Couldn’t believe how diluted AA was. Looking forward to this weekend as win or lose will be competitive. Also there’s a good coffee shop down Pecan st that has good breakfast sandwich.

The Pflugerville fields are pretty terrible, especially for the catchers.  They’ll adapt.  We hit Brotherton’s BBQ between games last weekend, good spot.  I’ll have to try the coffee shop out.

So our 13U select team should 100% be AAA.
Welp all the AAA slots were full for this weekend’s tournament so we were slotted in AA.
Went 5-0 and scored 81 runs while allowing 1.
Had two games today (including championship) called in bottom of 1st with our team still batting.
Glad boys won, glad no one got hurt but I look forward to playing AAA/Majors teams. The team is good, but not 81-1 good.

Looks like our boys are playing each other on Saturday.  Let’s hope we go more than 1 inning….tell ‘em to go easy on us!

Are you talking about another Twitter sock of that pathetic, snaggle-toothed piece of shit Daniel Figurelli?

Can’t believe that tool, Daniel Figurelli, thinks his b.s. will ever work again.  He can join KKL, 6figs and Liucci in a giant circle jerk cage match to death.

Welp season finished with a loss in the championship game. Team won the regular season but came up a little short with one "bad" inning where the 2B decided to cram a seasons worth of errors into a half inning. Was a great year and a lot of fun coaching my son for the last time. My son made the all-star time, but I opted not to coach it this year. I am ready to just be a fan and sit and watch my son play ball.

Hats off to all my fellow coaches, parents and fans. Final LL season in the books. Hard to believe as I have been involved since my older son (15) was 4 years old playing tee ball so it has been 11 years of some form of LL type baseball between my two boys. Hard to believe it is all over. I will definitely miss it.

My kid and his Yankee teammates had fun at your son’s expense.  Was a good season with some talented players.  We’ll be on the all star team with you - just yell “Muledick” at practice on Wednesday and maybe I’ll respond accordingly.

  7. Looking at doing a group trip here next January - anyone been?  Day trips to Jost Van Dyke - White Bay to hit up Soggy Dollar Bar, probably some fishing and lots of relaxing.  Not a Bonvoy member yet, but would join to rack up some points,  I have Chase Sapphire points but not enough to cover the 70,000/night rate.  Never been to BVI so not too familiar with the area, but flights seem to be a pain, flying through either Miami or San Juan then Beef Island followed by a short ferry ride.  Small price to pay to avoid the riff-raff (I.e., overweight Aggies).

Family was looking for some where different this summer for a trip. Just booked a summer week at Westin Reserva Conchal. Looks pretty nice. Has anyone stayed there or close by? I’m curious what attractions are nearby that are worth checking out? We always try to venture off the property wherever we’re staying.

I’ve been to a bachelor party in Jaco (whoa), otherwise I know very little about CR.

We went a few years ago, 4 couples without the kids amd had a blast.  Lots of full day and 1/2 day excursions to stay busy if you don’t want stay at the resort all day.  We did one trip through the hotel (river boat tour) and a few others we booked from a guy on the beach that hangs out by the hotel beach entrance and offers the same tours for way less $$.  Erik Garcia I believe is his name, and he wears a TripAdvisor shirt so you can’t miss him. We did a 4 wheeler trip that was awesome (wear mosquito repellent!), a zip line trip in the jungle and we booked a private sailing trip on our own that was fantastic.

Overall the resort was great - tons of wildlife like monkeys and iguanas at the resort as well as coati everywhere.  The food was pretty impressive for an all-inclusive - plenty of variety and high quality.  I would recommend upgrading the beverage package if you like the good stuff - the standard drinks were lower quality alcohol and wine.  The vendors at the beach weren’t overly pushy, and you could get a decent massage on the beach for like $10 for 30 mins.  No happy ending, however.
